Lovely Unit
The condo was very nice. Bedrooms and full bath were upstairs, with a half bath on the ground floor. Views were spectacular! Very near pool and easy parking. Would definitely stay again!

Comfortable Mattresses
The unit needs to be updated - wish we had known that it had stairs - stairs were hard for us to climb as I'm in mid 70s and have a bad back, another person had a knee brace - thus it was difficult for us. I slipped once but was able to NOT injury myself but my daughter in law slipped and broke 2 toes. We put painters tape on the stairs so we could see where each step ended. There was a smoker in one of the next units as we had to close the slidder twice because the smoke was coming in. I would have called the front desk but there was no phone in the unit. The a/c units are facing directly onto one's head/face. There was to way to move the beds in order to avoid the direct cold air. As a result, I got sick with a cough and fever, I had to cancel a couple of events we had scheduled because I got sick. the A/C units need to be changed OR take them down and just put circulating fans and allow for the windows to be opened so the air is circulating. Other than these 2/3 items we enjoyed the unit and appreciated that it was stocked with the necessities. It also had good mattresses and comfortable LR chairs. The chairs came in very handy when I was to sick to go out.

I love Kauai!
Pros: Great location, super comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, A/C worked great, great balcony views Cons: Upstairs bathroom definitely needs updating-the shower head is not good, tv’s not the best (we didn’t mind this so much) Overall it was a great stay.

Clean but outdated
Let me start off by saying, we had a wonderful time on Kauai and will definitely be coming back someday. Having said that, the check in process was very easy however, the condominium is extremely outdated with old furniture. The A/C in the bedroom with the balcony worked but smelled so we tried not to have it on all of the time. The location is less than desirable. We had partial views of the ocean and park and shipping containers. I will say that the condo is in centrally located to all sides of the island. So that was a plus! If comfort and amenities aren't important to you, then you'll be fine however, if you prefer comfort and more modern furnishings (bed, sofa, kitchen)...then maybe look into a newer development. Also, we wantsed to wash our clothes but the washer was not working and they couldn't get anyone to fix it until after we checked out. I will say that the staff and property management were great and responsive! Mahalo!

Very tired property
We found the wall art to be dated, as well as all of the furniture. It felt like a flash-back to the 1970’s with very, very few updates to 2023 expectations. The washer uses a Home Depot paint stir stock to hold the lid open, for example. Unless significant renovations are made, my family will not be staying in this VRBO again. Thanks for listening.

Banyan harbor
We all loved it. So spacious. A little dated,but so what. We just slept there. Air conditioning was great. Balconies were nice. The pool area was great and the bbqs worked perf. I would recommend this place to all my people.

Great place for families!
Loved this place, especially for the price! There was enough room to fit us comfortably, a well-stacked kitchen, beach chairs, and the AC units worked wonderfully. The staff were kind and helpful and the location was awesome. Our little one loved seeing cruise ships out the window.

Golf vacation
This was the perfect place for our golf vacation. It is centrally located to all the courses we played as well as being within walking distance to bars, restaurants and the beach. The condo was a bit dated but that didn't bother us at all. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would definitely say here again!!

Huge disappointment! It’s a gut job!
This place is a gut job! It’s like being in 1970. The kitchen cupboards are original, beaten up wood with a dozen coats of paint. The dishes and glasses and pots are garage sale crap. The appliances worked and microwave seemed new. All the wiring to ceiling fans and lights is visible on the ceiling, not behind the ceiling. All switches are scribbled with black marker. The living room furniture is old, worn, and stained. The balcony furniture is rusted. Remember that dingy aluminum bathroom medicine cabinet from 1970? It’s still here. The tiles going upstairs are chipped. The window air conditioners are installed with a rough looking metal insert. Many doors are shortened and splintered. The upstairs bathroom mirrors are full of numerous black marks, likely from decades of salt air. The artwork is water stained. The bathroom counter and mirrors are designed for two sinks but there’s only one. The taps are original 1970. The bath tub and faucet is original 1970. The washing machine works well but you have to use a stick to prop up the lid because it’s crowded. The dishwasher is full of brown water. This place is tired! And the advertising photos are so over exposed it’s almost fraudulent. And the view is of a ship yard with fuel tanks. It’s beach view but across a busy highway. Not beach front as advertised. The complex and staff were great.

BFF weekend
The rental process from start to end was excellent!! Except... When we arrived the unit was filthy and smelled! Cleaners did not show up until the next day and they did a great job! We washed and dried the beddings to sleep the first night. We understand that communication was a factor in the unit being uncleaned...it happens! Can't ruin a Kauai BFF trip!! 'Arrived' reps were awesome and addressed our concerns immediately. They also refunded us for one night and cleaning fees!! The rest of our stay was awesome and quiet. Other tenants were very friendly and the weather very nice! We will definitely stay again!

Cozy spot
Check in was very easy. The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. Banyan Harbor is walking distance from kalapaki bay, eateries, and nawiliwili park. It’s in a great location. Very quite area. The unit hasn’t been updated but it’s still cozy. It’s a two bedroom, 1.5 bath, full kitchen, two story unit. Very close to the pool, bbq, and the smoking area. My family enjoyed staying there. It’s not a five star luxurious resort but it was a nice spot to hang out and sleep.

Perfect place for midsize family

DO NOT BOOK!!
My husband and I (5 months Pregnant) arrived to the house and it had not been cleaned. It was filthy!! Dirty dishes in sink, towels and bedding all over plus the house had a funky moldy smell. Turns out the people that booked before us left early do to the same issue. Why didn’t management inform us about this before hand? Luckily the property (not associated with this private house) had another condo available for one night. Management of the private condo told us they would pay for the one night at the other house but then after we payed a week later they refused to reimburse us $350!! The next day We hoped to finally get in the clean condo to enjoy our vacation but no we wasted half the day trying to figure out when can we get in the rental to be told they can’t clean the house and we could stay but had to clean it ourself? Thank goodness my sister in-law who lives on the island came and cleaned because I’m pregnant. The house is very outdated not in a good way I don’t think it has had a deep clean in year honestly. The location is good but other than that I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Fall Break Getaway
This property is in a centralized location in Kauai. It was easy to break each day into different areas of the island. The unit it self is comfortable, but worn & dated. Being worn down makes it appear dingy/dirty. The kitchen was functional although we didn't use much in it. The coffee pot has a built in filter, so just purchase grounds. There were no paper towels- had to make a trip the the ABC Store just down the street. The unit having a washer & dryer was VERY convenient, because of the "red" dirt.

Two story apartment!
For some reason, dividing the apartment into two floors made it feel enormous! Enjoyed my stay. It's in Lihue (county capitol) so it's super convenient, especially if you don't have a car, yet you still get ocean views and a beach park across the street. Tons of security, and everyone there was so nice! Good for those traveling here on business.

This property was great for our family. We came with a group (we were all staying at different places) and could only get one rental car, so on days when we did not have the car this place was perfect because there is so much within walking distance including the beach. We had an issue with the washer but the property manager made sure we were taken care of.

This property is as advertised. It's comfortable and the beds are great. It's aged somewhat but very acceptable. It has everything you need, including laundry detergent. The kitchen has everything you could possibly ever need and more. Great location in the center part of the island so easy to get to whichever side of the island is sunny. Road in front is a main road so you do have traffic noise and you are right by the port where the cruise ships come in. Staff are very friendly. Kiki the concierge is awesome and does a great job helping you find the best places to go.

Place was old and dirty dust on the floor . Your feet would be black, so no one cleaned ore moped. Under the sink someone left a plastic bag of pods and they melted and the bag leaked and ran out all over. runin the new roll of paper towels and our new ones too. Told the manger she said she had nothing to do with it. So all you get from her is the key to get in and nothing else. They did come and check the sink three days after we reported it as she did call them. No t v are internet she could not help. I fixed the t v someone put a wire wrong html . Thanks to me after a week without. Do not rent this condo not worth the money and you will be on your own.

Rustic Unit with a Good View and Close to the Airport
We arrived after hours and check in was as described, security met us within minutes. The window AC units work on a timer (they are timed to go off only and do not go back on), so when we entered the unit it was about 85 degrees. After 14 hours of traveling it was not pleasant. The living room furniture was uninviting and dated and the cleanliness was a 3 on a scale of 1-5. The listing advertised beach towels but there were none so we had to purchase.

Banyan Harbour Stay
First time staying on this part of the island. Nice area, and the beach was beautiful and great swimming, but not ocean front ...its a short walk across the road & park. Lots of little shops and restaurants very close by as well. The unit itself was a little outdated, but we enjoyed the separate rooms and air-conditioning (air con in master bedroom not very strong, needed a fan as well in evenings). Close to pool, and the pool was wonderful! The blinds in the living room as very old and broken and didn't completely close so if using pull out couch to sleep it was bright in the morning. We missed noticing that this unit does NOT have a phone! I read that there were boogie boards, but none when we were there. Beach chair and kid size mask & snorkel, but no flippers. The best bonus was the washer & dryer as we were there for 2 weeks, so being able to do our own laundry was fantastic!Kitchen well stocked, but a baking sheet for cooking things in the oven and a couple tupperware/plastic containers with lids for leftover food would have been useful. I agree that they art work was not the best and quite depressing as they were all one rusty colour, but we didn't spend much time in the unit. Overall it was good value for the size and having laundry within the unit. Otherwise we have found units for the same price, smaller in size but beachfront and more "extras" to borrow (boogie boards, snorkel gear, cooler bags, beach chairs etc). Depends what is a priority when choosing accommodation.

Great price and location! Needs updating
For the most part, we were happy with our stay. For the price, you cannot beat the size, location or view from this unit. On the positive side, check in was very easy, the kitchen was stocked with all the tools we needed, the WiFi, A/C and washer/dryer worked sufficiently well, and the Banyan Harbor complex was safe and quiet. They provided a beach chair, boogie board, sand and pool toys and a couple of snorkel masks which was nice. If it hadn’t rained all week, the two lanai’s overlooking the ocean would have been a peaceful place to spend our time. However, the unit (while mostly clean) was very dingy looking and in need of updates. The full bathroom upstairs has a lot of mold and water damage, which is likely the result of the way the dryer steams up the room if you don’t leave the bathroom door open and fan running while it’s on. A note to those with small kids: the two bedrooms are relatively small and have just a little walking room around the beds. To fit our toddler’s air mattress in the second bedroom we had to get creative and rearrange some furniture. Also, the unit has hard tile floors throughout, including on the stairs. I was thankful my youngest is three and able to go up and down safely otherwise that would have made me nervous. Over all, happy with our stay but I wished it was a little cleaner, especially in the bathroom.

Did not live up to the expectations
Unfortunately, this very aged property was rather disappointing. cleanliness was clearly an issue and it was frustrating having to wait till our 4th day to have the broken toaster & coffee maker replaced. There were A/C units however these ageing units, again did not work well. Thankfully, members of our family staying in other apartments at the same property, did not have the same experience. We located elsewhere for our second week.

Central location on Kauai with good access to services.
Great view of the harbor. Pool and BBQ facilities were very close to our condo. The grounds are middle class, nothing fancy but people were friendly. Our unit was fine but furnishings were dated. It could use a remodel.

Great location, great hospitality
Our condo was conveniently located in Lihue, which is just about equidistant from the sights up north and the places to visit to the south. The two bedrooms were big enough for 4 adults and 2 little ones in rented cribs (and high chairs) from Ready Rental. There is a large beach within easy walking distance, and local stores and shave ice stands close to the beach. The unit was very clean and air conditioned. Thank you for a wonderful stay; we'd like to use this condo again if/when we return to Kauai.

A perfect fit for our family! Excellent views, truly comfortable, and perfect location!
We really enjoyed our trip - we are now in love with Kauai! This condo was a very good match for us - considering the reasonable price, it was much better equipped than we had imagined it would be. Everything you could possible need in the kitchen, (except a vase would be nice with so many beautiful flowers available at farmers markets-we used the pitcher) generous amount of nice towels, both bath and beach, comfortable beds, and the view really was lovely. Two decks to sit and enjoy watching the sunrise (7am-ish!) and the cruise ships come and go. The only request I would make was to upgrade the pictures - they were a bit depressing, and add a throw rug or two. The complex is very convenient, we cruised around the whole Island repeatedly enjoying various activities, and we were perfectly placed to do so. Also, we discovered we had anticipated correctly and were just far enough South to miss most of the rain. We enjoyed the salt water pool and met some really nice people in the BBQ area - they have three gas grills, plenty of tables, etc. I must say, the pool area is lovely - the online pictures do not do it justice. The complex appeared to be a mix of residents and vacation rentals, which lent itself to a more homey feel - which we appreciated! It was quiet in the evenings. A true five minute walk away is the Marriott with it's beautiful beach and awesome restaurants - we enjoyed Duke's, Portofino's, the Beach Hut for breakfast. The little rental shop 'Kauai Bound' next to the yellow beach hut has the best prices on the island, and the owner is amazing - tells you where the best snorkeling is happening at all times. We really enjoyed the feel of the neighborhood, the convenience of having grocery stores nearby, and the central location. We stayed 9 nights, and wish we could've doubled it - the beds really were comfortable! I can't wait to make Banyan Harbor K132 home again soon!

Banyon Harbour property is 4 star to us. Most units are well kept and parking is adequate.
The unit we rented was owned by an independent. Was in very poor condition! It had a dishwasher but was inoperable when we arrived. A kitchen cabinet door had been ripped off and just leaning against another cabinet door on the floor. So we had to wash dishes by hand. We reported it, a maintenance man stopped by a couple days later to look at everything. He said the dishwasher was so old and had been repaired many times but nothing he could do with it. He said there needs to be a new replacement. The cabinet door he didn't know what to do about it. He had to check with the owner. We never heard another word! We were there for 3 long weeks! The dryer up stairs I don't think is going to be working much longer either. The whole unit is in need of a lot of repairs and maybe some updating! We were very disappointed! When we rented this unit, we rented it for 3 weeks. Also rented it for 2 weeks next year. We only had a description on the VRBO site. Turned out the description was miss leading to us. We cancelled next years 2 weeks after one day here. So disappointing! We will stay at the complex again, but not this unit!!

Great location, great VRBO.
Kitchen well stocked. Great views Centrally located on the island, easy trips east and west. Close to Costco. The pool has new gas grills and well maintained facilities. May be the best value for the price. Loved Kiki who gave great advice on trips.5 stars!!!

Conveniently located and spacious condo
Nice condo near beach and airport. Good middle ground between north and south shores yet still plenty to do in town.

Dark and unremarkable
There was little natural light, the room was dark. And resort amenities were not very accessible and the pool area was sad.

Great location, adeqaute amenities, however this unit can use some updates.
Banyan Harbor is in a convenient location and a great basecamp to explore the island. This unit has views of Kalapaki harbor. Front desk staff were friendly and you could borrow beach equipment from the conceirge staff. Unit could use some updates and a deep clean (just some dust), but overall a comfortable stay. Glad to have AC, as both bedrooms are upstairs and it can get hot during the day.
