I have used this hotel over a number of years- with always good service. Sadly it’s closing to be taken over by the Government to house asylum seekers. This is a big loss for Leyland because the hotel was well used by local people for events .

NO sleep for us!
The room was lovely and clean. Bed was really comfortable. Unfortunately our stay was completely ruined by the guests next door who had a continuous domestic throughout the night, from 10pm - 4am, which even resulted in our door being punched. It was quite a scary experience.

The food was awful. When i spoke to the on duty manager, i was told thats just the way it is. Corridor smelt fausty. Bar prices astronomical, dearer than a top class london night club. Large gordons gin and tonic, £11.50

For a signature 4* hotel it was poor staff were ok but the room was discusting mold in shower, plug not working in bath bed all torn at the bottom pillows were so hard obviously very old. Nothing I would expect from 4* hotel

Lovely night here.
Wasn't 100% sure on how our stay would be after seeing some comments on loud noises from surrounding areas, some said it wasn't clean or good service. We cannot fault the hotel at all, service was brilliant. Staff are so friendly here. Had some drinks in the bar area, this was nice an relaxing. Would recommend staying here an we will no doubt visit again in the future. Rooms are a decent size and the bed was so comfy.

The staff were helpful and kind . I traveled from New York to my home town and had to stay in a hotel for the first time. It was refreshing to find a place were everyone cared about making my experience as a guest warm and friendly. I will definitely be returning to the Preston Leyland Hotel on my next visit.

Not impressed. Room was freezing. Cleanliness of the room was unbelievable! A dirty sock, food, and all sorts of rubbish and dirt. On one of the seats in the hotel there was also a dead spider. Not enough amenities in the room. No hairdryer. Beds and pillows very uncomfortable. Only good thing was the male staff member who was very attentive.

Room small but with everything needed for pleasant stay. Very comfortable bed. Soap in bathroom is from wall dispensers only so if you like hard soap, take your own. I have stayed here in past but not had breakfast but chose to include on this occasion. Sadly, I was disappointed with breakfast. The only cereals were the small individual packets - no cereal dispenser with muesli etc. Also the fresh fruit was a bowl of unappetising looking apples. I would have expected grapefruit, berries, nuts etc. Fortunately the buffet style cooked breakfast was good and plentiful. The position of the hotel, just far enough off the M6 is ideal for travellers. The staff are friendly and helpful while still being professional. I look forward to staying again when visiting in the area.

A bit of work required but not my worst experience
THE BAD On arrival at 1455 for a room check in at 1500, we were told the room was not ready. As traveler of some experience this is not the first time but instead of being offered complimentary tea/coffee/juice while we wait we were offered nothing but an apology and suggestion of a 15 minute wait. I at 15 min i purchased tea and continued to wait for another 15 min. The room was what I would have expected but hadn't expected to spot a large hole in the carpet under the bed. This my wife's eagle eye spotted. After an hour I was in the bathroom fixing the flush mechanism as it was not operating correctly and continued to be an issue until we left. Dinner was not good, there was an issue with food (or lack off) and the two out of three options we chose on the limited menu, were not available. We had to drive to the nearest town (10 minutes) walk around in the rain with a five year old looking for somewhere to eat in a place we didn't know. As my family and I were attending a funeral the next day the situation was not the happiest and so, the experience of the hotel was just a drain. THE GOOD A young lady working behind the bar (Rebeca) was thoughtful and observant and interacted with my daughter in a way that was professional and helpful. Breakfast was good. Food was hot (including the beens) well presented and all the staff in the morning were helpful and kind. Parking was no issue and location for my needs was spot on.
