Bel emplacement de l'hôtel par contre nous avons pris la chambre à 4 avec tout le monde dans la même pièce, je ne le recommande pas car nous avons été placés dans une chambre avec vue sur un mur ..... à côté d'un night-club il faut savoir que ce n'est pas du double vitrage et une partie de la fenêtre n'est que de la moustiquaire donc très très bruyant. La cuisine commune était cependant bien équipée. Pour une nuit ca va mais pas plus ! C'est une auberge de jeunesse plus qu'un Hotel. Mauvaise surprise il n'y avait pas de wifi suite à un problème technique. Il vous sera demandé une caution à votre arrivée.

Dear Remi, Thank you for your review. The nightclub does not operate every night, and some rooms are not affected by it. We recommend contacting the hotel to discuss the possibility of the nightclub operating within the premises, and of it causing disturbance, prior to making a reservation. We do not ask guests for a deposit upon arrival.

Le wifi etait soit disant gratuit mais il n'y avait que 500mo, au delà c'était payant La cuisine était fermé entre 9h et 10h le matin, super pour le petit dej !

Pas recommandable.
Une nuit difficile,l'hôtel était en travaux,on peut le concevoir.Par contre il y a une boite de nuit sous les chambres de la cour et ,il y avait foule dehors avec les boissons et des filles qui hurlaient. Au bout d'une heure sur mon intervention ils nous ont changé de chambre.Elle donnait sur la ruelle ou il y avait un peu moins de bruit mais juste un peu.Le pire c'est qu' il n'y a personne dans les rues à partir de 18h.Pas de chance.

Great budget accommodation close to city
Considering the cost of the stay I’d say it was pretty good. Clean and tidy budget friendly and close to city so walking was easy. Free wifi, free parking, great service. Not the most modern of accomodations but I’d call it quaint, historic and on the heritage side of things. Basic facilities but adequate for a place to lay your head and have a good shower. Mini fridge, some snacks, tea and coffee. No microwave or hairdryer for those that need it though. Travelled with my mum to visit University campuses and we were both comfortable. Beware.. if you are from the mainland like us.. shops close early (like 4 to 4.30 ish) apparently it’s a Tasmanian thing but if you know then you can work around it, lovely view from our room too x

Cheap room, not very clean
The price was cheap and parking was free and close. But the overall condition of the hotel wasn't great. It had a damp smell about it. The carpets were dirty and stained in the hallways leading to our room. In the room my kids found hairs in their beds it looked like the bed linen hadn't been changed just remade. Where you open the fridge on top where you put your fingers their was a gunky sludge like stuff sitting in their so it hadn't been properly cleaned for a while. The carpets were stained in multiple places beside the beds.

Going into this reservation I had not extremely high expectations, given the price paid. The person who greeted me was nice and able to get along with. I arrived into my room 25… with a massive whopping smell of cigarettes. No ventilation in the room what so over and for a hotel that had a sign up the front saying 350 dollar fine for smoking… you would have thought you wouldn’t come across the smell of it. The bathroom was in desperate need of a deep clean and a remodel. Didn’t feel like getting into the shower with out thongs on.. the room was fine otherwise, bed was comfortable. The smell of the smoke and the bathroom was the biggest let downs. Also everyone staying seemed to have no sense of when it was appropriate to be quiet. Not that it’s their control about who stays there etc, but could implement some ways to help improve it. Given reading other reviews, it seems like a regular thing. On another note, I understand the need to know roughly of when you would be arriving to your stay…. So I had received a message asking just after making the booking about what time I would arrive. I had replied and that was that. Following closer to my stay I had phone calls and multiple messages asking me about my arrival time. Including on the day of my arrival. Started to become frustrated at this after the third call. As well as the constant messages for a review??…. Especially asking for a 10?! Wasn’t gonna put one, but now I have.

One of the few hotel options left when I travelled on short notice. Got in room 3 which faces the road and was insanely noisy. Bells from the church, garbage trucks from 5am, hotel staff hanging around the laundry. And the front door bangs all hours of the night. But other guests at the hotel are seasonal fruit pickers who either party and come in late or leave early for work. I left hotel early and trying to get a refund with the help of wotif (who have been great) but the hotel was not responding. The manager at the new hotel I went to use to manage Cornwall - he said they had a complaint about room 3 & 4 almost every night. Dont get fooled by the cheap room rate - just not worth it.

If you're visiting fir a holuday don't bother with this place. Our room was small, things were broken, paper thin walls so we could here everything. I suspect we were the only tourists, the rest were workers employed on a project who got up at 4.30 am and made lors of noise. My advice is stsy elsewhere.

My family checked into the Cornwall and we couldn’t wait to check out. We’re not too fussy when it comes to basic accomodation but the one thing we do expect for our money is cleanliness. This was not the case. The bathroom was grotty. The walls need a good clean (dirty substances were on the wall above the towel rail and beside the shower, and behind the door there was dirty run marks of another substance, as well as some rubbish behind the bin. There was hair left inside the shower and bathroom. We also found a dirty spoon in one of the cups. The noise in the corridors was also an issue, it made it difficult to sleep and it was scary for our children. As we were leaving a trail of chips were scattered throughout the corridor and right down to the stairs. We sent an email outlining our disappointment and still haven’t had a reply!

I would like to give a better review but unfortunately this hotel was more like a backpackers hostel with people doing laundry after midnight and then up playing music by 7am and making a lot of noise in the hallway without considering other guest this was groups of people not just one person the hotel is very tired and need some renos and our shower couldn't be turned off and ran constantly I will say our bed was comfortable though

Our bathroom light was out and was pitch black in there, thry couldnt fix it due to it being a weekend. No solution was offered. Also loud at night in the hotel and outside of it.

Stay as a last resort only!!
The foyer of the hotel was welcoming. The rest of it appalling. My room hadn't had a thorough clean in ages. The mattress was extremely stained with no mattress protector and was not comfortable. The hotel is occupied by many Fijian workers - very pleasant people - which makes the hotel more like a backpackers hostel. Cannot recommend this property at all.

Lovely old building built 1820 and love the history. Staff were very helpful and other patrons were polite. Short walk to main area where there are plenty of food/dinner choices . Remember it’s an old building with beautiful architecture.

Great location. That was the only thing.woken up very early by hotel Patrons who think they own the place.greater by police 2 of the 3 mornings. Bad noisey plumbing throughput the night added to the experience.

John at reception was very helpful and went out of his way to help us But the hallway carpets were dirty and needed vacuuming, the room and hallways didn’t smell very good, the bathroom was dated cramped and the vanity was in need of repair.

The rooms are very small and drab. The beds are not comfortable and there were other guests playing loud music in the hallways until 8pm. The shower was good and the hotel is close to the city park which was a nice place to visit.

The facility has so much potential with its historical roots but has been let to completely run down and now attracts itinerant workers who are seeking cheap cheap accommodation regardless. Now this once great hotel is simply a dirty unclean, poorly maintained facility inhabited by noisy tenants who come and go at all hours of the day or night

This hotel is really dirty. Stay there if you like the historic aspect of being in one of Australia’s oldest hotels, but recognize that the carpets are really dirty and the place needs a fresh coat of paint.
