Nice place. Has potential with a few tweaks.
The stay in general was good. I provided 4 stars because it was probably closer to 3.75 stars. Not outstanding but reasonable. The neighborhood is quiet and some houses were more run down than others but a few well kept homes in the area. The front yard was was not kept up. There were 2 big piles of dead branches in the front yard and an old beat up rake left in the front. No grass but I suspect that was a function of water conservation. The garbage collection cans were full and slightly over flowing. Thankfully 2 days later, garbage was picked up. That was simply bad timing. The back yard was not the greatest. The side of the house where the garage is located, was a bit of trash. Not kept up. No grass in the back yard and more dead branches in a pile. There were 2 buckets with mops and broom and dust pan that looked left behind. There were chairs in the back that looked like left overs against the back of the house. Inside of the home was clean and fresh smelling. The back door handle needs replacing as it was very difficult to open. The refrigerator door does not close properly and needs to be pushed to close properly. The kitchen faucet needs some adjusting and it does not freely move from sink to sink. The placement of the 2 hide-a-beds make it very inconvenient to watch TV but that was very minor. We moved the couch for better viewing and unfortunately found pop-corn, dusk and an old sock under the couch. It appears the cleaning crew forgot to get under there. The laundry room light was out and probably needs a light bulb. In the hall bathroom, the soap dispenser tube popped out and would not stay in the dispenser. (Not a big deal as we brought our own hand soap.). The area under the kitchen counter facing the dining room table, close to the back door, was not cleaned with what appeared to be red juice or something. Cleaning folks missed this too. That said... here are some good points. - Inside was inviting. - Bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of supplies if needed. - Bedrooms were very clean and bedding was also clean. - Beds were comfortable and nice to have plenty of pillows. :-) - Air conditioning was great. - Close by Albertson's grocery and other shopping. - Quiet neighborhood - Appreciated the kitchen plates, cups, cutlery, pots & pans although we did not need them. - Nice to have coffee maker available but we brought our own. Overall, good place to stay after better clean up.

Awful experience with VRBO
We had to reach out the night of check in many times to get the code and once we got in the place it was disgusting! They didn’t clean the house at all! Dishes in sink, food on the floor, beds with dirty sheets and stains on the sheets. And with us checking in late that night made it worse as VRBO customer service was just as awful! They didn’t help with the issue at all and with it being Super Bowl week we had two choices- sleep in this disgusting home or sleep in the car and yes we picked the car! I gave 1 star only because there was nothing lower on the house as well as VRBO, I’ll never use VRBO again as they are just awful

CANCELED MY RESERVATION 1 HOUR BEFORE CHECKIN
We were not able to stay at this property and if I could give 0 stars I would. 1 hour before our checkin time the property owner canceled my reservation and left us high and dry with no place to stay. Our first time using vrbo and this happened. I called vrbo customer service and I'm not impressed with their process for handling last minute owner cancelations. I had to do it all through email. I ended being told to make reservations on Expedia.com and submit receipts and they will reimburse me for my stay. We'll see if it happens. It was 3 hours of being on the phone and several emails to get to that point. The costumer setvice representatives were nice but their process is not a good one. Not sure if we will ever use vrbo again. Very disappointed with our fisrt vrbo experience.

Horrible, they double booked and I got cancelled. I was with older family, and stressed out. VRBO helped us with ONE day, and we were reimbursed, BUT still stranded.

Disclaimer: there is a tenant living in the garage
Leading up to the booking of the stay, it was difficult to get in touch with the host. I messaged and texted 3 weeks before our trip and I didn’t get a response till a few days before we arrived. When we got there, everything was fine until my cousin showed up and said there was a man staring at her from the side gate (which looked like it lead to the backyard). I went outside with her to grab her things from the car where I witnessed the man coming out of the garage door next to the side gate and he just stood by the side gate and stared at us. When I asked who he was and if there was something I can help him with, he continued to stare at us and then said he doesn’t speak english. He still continued to stand there and watch us, making us feel incredibly uncomfortable and confused. He finally went inside and I immediately called the host to ask about the man in the garage. She said that he has no access to the backyard and the main house and is just a tenant living in the garage, which was true upon further inspection. There is no door connecting to the garage from the inside and it is fenced off from the backyard. However, the fact that this was not disclaimed in the listing and we had to experience such an uncomfortable situation is the reason why I am leaving this review. If we had known there was someone living in the garage, we wouldn’t have booked here in the first place. Otherwise, the house was fine and we had no other issues.
