Nestled in a quite community, located in the heart of Ashe County, and only 1 mile from the New River, The Forge welcomes you and your family to a fun and exciting adventure!

This home offers 4 spacious sleeping areas including a king bedroom on the main level, two queen rooms upstairs (along with a new sleeper sofa in the loft), and a bunk room downstairs with 2 full bunk beds. The master bedroom has a private bathroom with a walk in shower and his and her sinks. The upstairs bedrooms will share a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. The downstairs bunk room also has a full shower/tub combo bathroom. The living room offers a stone gas fireplace, a large TV and vaulted ceilings. The adjacent kitchen and dining area is designed with entertaining in mind. The open layout allows guests to not feel cramped when joining the family chef in preparing a delicious homecooked meal. Plenty of space for everyone!

Outside, let your worries melt away on the beautiful wrap around porch. Watch for the dozens of varieties of native birds or sit in silence listening to the late-night hoots from the owls on summer evenings. Take the family down to the oversized fire pit for a fun night around a fire. A perfect way to wind down from a day exploring nearby towns and local hiking trails!

Ashe County Cheese - see cheese being made and enjoy delicious ice cream!
Molly Chomper Cidery (13 minutes away!)
Ashe County Farmers Market every Saturday from 8am to 1pm from April to October!
Mount Jefferson State Park - great place for family photos. Stunning views!
Grayson Highlands State Park - 32 minutes away. Excellent hiking with scenic views, more than 5,000 feet in elevation. See wild horses!
Old Barn Winery - Live music, food trucks, perfect atmosphere!
Enjoy a sunny day on the New River using Zaloo's Canoes, Kayaks, and Tubes. Public put-in locations are nearby, as well for those bringing their own kayaks!

Additional Notes:
- Please note the homeowners use an exterior cameras. The first camera is facing towards the entrance of the driveway, the rest of the cameras are pointing to each side of the deck and mounted on each side of the deck.No other cameras are pointed at the home or at any of the common areas.
-This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
-Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- Parking space for up to 5 vehicles

CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

Beautiful Location for Snow

Upon arrival a few minutes before 4 PM, we were surprised to find the driveway completely covered in thick snow, despite the surrounding roads and other driveways being clear. With both an AWD and a 4x4 vehicle, we still struggled to get traction and ended up sliding down. Our family had to manually shovel and sand the driveway just to attempt access.To make matters worse, when some family tried to enter the cabin at check-in time, the entry code didn’t work. I called the rental office at least 30 times with no response, left a message, and finally got a call back. They reset the code but only offered an apology for the unplowed driveway, placing us on a waitlist for plowing that never happened. We had to clear the driveway ourselves to ensure we could leave safely. Given that our stay was booked weeks in advance, there was no excuse for the property not being prepared. If we weren’t physically able to shovel, we wouldn’t have been able to access the cabin at all.Inside, the space was nice but had a few issues. The upstairs railing was wobbly, and one of the dining chairs kept breaking at the bottom. The bunk beds are better suited for older children, but our kids (ages 11, 9, 8, and 6) were uncomfortable sleeping in basement. They felt too far away from us, as they were beside the garage door while we were on the very top floor. I encourage the owners to add a larger dining table to accommodate all guests. We brought a table and chairs from home to help accommodate us.

Amazing

The house was amazing and large enough that everyone could be apart but also together if that makes sense. The house was wonderful and the pictures are very accurate. We came to see fall foliage and it did not disappoint

Nice location!

This is in a beautiful neighborhood with large lots (so it felt very private)! The beds were super comfortable (most important to me, Lol!), the kitchen was truly a fully stocked kitchen! It has every single spice you could need. We loved the Keurig coffee maker, and they do have hair dryers in the bathrooms. The front porch glider was so nice and comfortable. We enjoyed hiking up and down the streets in between rains when we couldn’t go to favorite hiking destinations (Grayson Highlands, Doughton Park,etc).

Excellent Cabin. Beautiful property and very quiet and peaceful. Great location for motorcycle riding. Short ride to Jefferson / West Jefferson area.
