Well located resort, but WITHOUT services.
Very well located resort, nice view of the ocean, confortable suite, safe area. However, there was NO SERVICE at all. We phoned the day before arriving to verify that it was opened, and we had a confirmation. We arrived at 5:45pm, and the front desk and everything else was closed. We were fortunate to find the security guard that was able to give us the keys. But EVERYTHING was closed and we had to drive 25 min. to find a restaurant at night at Knysna. The day after, when we left for the day at 7:45am, the reception was still closed ... At our return, the restaurant was still closed, and we had to drive back to Knysna... Internet access voucher was limited to 20 min !!!! The morning we left, the manager made excuses but nothing to offer a compensation; she told us that they would have advised us if they have known our phone... but we really phoned to verify and they didn't let us know of their nearly closed situation during the winter season. What is advertised from this resort on hotel.com is misrepresentation. Having known it, our choice would have been different.

Good afternoon Mr Aubin, We would like to apologise for the service that you received at the front desk, it is never our intention to be rude. We always endeavour to give the best service to our guests. We will investigate this immediately. Butterfly Blu is open fully in summer but during the winter months we have to close on a Sunday evening and Monday due to very low demand and in order to give staff time off in the lower season. We do, however, have our deli open for lunch treats and other goodies. We do apologise that your visit falls over a Monday when we are closed. Brenton Haven is a self-catering property with fully equipped kitchens so that guests can either self-cater or from a Tuesday - Sunday enjoy our restaurant. Brenton-on-Sea is a beautiful area and we hope that the sun will start shining so that you can really enjoy the area. Best wishes, BH Team

Très bel établissement avec superbe vue
Cet établissement à une situation géographique absolument parfaite . Nous avions un appartement avec 2 chambres très confortables et un salon très bien équipe . Nous disposions également d une grande terrasse avec barbecue . Le tout avec une vue splendide sur l océan . Je vous recommande cet établissement

Great views of the bay from our spacious one bedroom suite. Restaurant was very good also with sea views. Pool is a bit small with limited towels and loungers.

The villa unit was very comfortable and had lovely sea views from the main room and balcony. The housekeeping was good, just need more attention to detail when replenishing tea sachets for the next morning. Reception was initially not overly welcoming, but thereafter a gent named Nkosi was excellent in helping us.

Great ocean views, comfy apartment
Next to the Brenden Beach, 2014 rebuilt modern accomodarion with very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room, great view to the Ocean from patio and bedroom. The food at the restaurant was really tasty, the breakfast also very decent. Would return here anytime.

Our stay was wonderful. As a single mom, I felt security visibility would have been comforting. Maybe consider having securities at night during peak periods.

Hi Mbali. Thank you for the nice review. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We have 24 hour security on the resort. At night we have 2 guards on duty daily. As part of their routine they would patrol past your unit every 20 minutes. Die Unterkunft liegt fantastisch am Meer. Von unserem Zimmer aus konnten wir einen der schönsten Sonnenuntergänge erleben. Das Personal ist freundlich. Allerdings stimmte die angegebene Adresse (198 CR Swart Drive) nicht genau und so haben wir dieses "Resort" auf der Strecke hinunter zum Meer gesucht und schlussendlich gefunden :-).

Spacious room with breathtaking Ocean view. Very comfortable bed with great size. Water pressure is constantly changing and too low for a good shower. Staff seems to be allowed to use the Gym as well and doesn't do so properly.

Beautiful untouched location , 20 minutes drive from Knysna. Amazing clean beech were one can see dolphins each day swimming. Apartments very large and feel like living at home, restaurant and Deli provide everyyypu need of do not feel like cooking.

Weit weg von Knysna
Was uns unangenehm auffiel war die lange Fahrt von Knysna nach Brenton. Gemaess Hotels.com sind es nur wenige Kilometer; in Wirklichkeit sind es 15km! Das 'Resort' meint die Schoenheit der Strecke sei so, dass man die lange Fahrt gerne auf sich nehme. Ja, wir nahmen sie auf uns und fuhren am naechsten Morgen weg! Aufgepasst: Es handelt sich um einen 'do-it-yourself' Resort wohl eher geeignet fuer laengere Aufenthalte. Die 'units' sind eher klein!

Watching dolphins
We booked this last minute as we had to cancel our other accommodation. The rooms are beautiful with balconies looking out over the beautiful sea. We had booked a superior suite but were upgraded to a larger one. We were able to lie in bed and watch the dolphins swim through the bay. The staff were extremely helpful and the on site restaurant offered fabulous food and views. You can also self cater here. Dispute there being many sized rooms, suites,cottages etc it never felt crazy busy and at times there was only us by the pool.

Beautiful property with a great restaurant and deli. The beach if perfect for long walks and there is a pub down the street. It's difficult to find using gps and is a twenty minute drive to Knysna.

Our Suites do have air conditioning units in them but the Beach Homes do not currently have air conditioning units in them. Most of the time the units benefit from a sea breeze, making them cool enough but in times of extreme heat, we do have fans available for guests. Best Hotel I Have Ever Stayed In
Absolutely fantastic. The rooms are all very very beautiful with a large kitchen, living area, outside patio overlooking the beach, braai, large bedroom with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, modern and clean bathroom with an amazing shower and a bath that makes you feel like royalty. Brenton hotel is perfect if you like your own space, prefer to cook your own meals or want to relax without the typical "hotel" feel. There is also a large gym and a magnificent pool overlooking the ocean. The location is also great, perfect to view the sunrise and take a walk on the beach as it is situated right next to the ocean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Knysna/ Brenton-on-the-sea.

Wunderschönes Haus mit traumhaftem Ausblick aufs Meer, haben morgens auf der Terrasse gefrühstückt und Wale und Delphine gesehen (Haus 11 hatten wir ganz oben). Gutes Essen und Cocktails im Restaurant. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Beheizter Pool (etwas klein, aber zum plantschen reicht es). Das einzige Störende waren die Ameisen im Wohnraum. Man darf keinen Krümel fallen lassen, sonst kommen in Scharen. In Summe alles toll!

Breton paradise
Beautiful property and appartments! Loved the dining area with fireplaces. Made the whole experience all that more special.
