Bien mais rapport qualité prix un peu élevé
Petit cabanon plutôt bien équipé mais un peu vieux. Partie chambre et entrée : bien. Partie SDB : pas terrible mais cela fait le travail. Pas de wifi dans le cabanon. Pas de cuisine commune (juste une bouilloire dans la chambre). Très bon emplacement cependant. Rapport qualité prix un peu cher.

Il n'y avait pas d'internet dans les bungalows malgré ce qui était annoncé sur le site. Je l'ai signalé à la réception. Ils m'ont répondu qu'ils allaient changer cette information sur le site. Je viens de vérifier 8 jours après: ce n'est toujours pas fait.

Un séjour au calme, hôtel bien situé!
Des mobil homes très cosy, surtout celui avec la kitchenette, qui a un espace salon avec la possibilité de prendre ses repas. Le deuxième Mobil home disposait de 2 lits jumeaux et des sanitaires privés, ce qu'il faut pour dormir. Endroit très calme et accueillant. Excellent petit déjeuner, qui est réapprovisionné au fur et à mesure, il y a même des fruits. Personnel accueillant et réactif, je recommande cet hôtel avec ses mobil homes car il est très situé pour visiter Vik et Skaftafell

Trop vétuste pour le prix
Nous avons séjourné dans cet hôtel. Nous avons eu la possibilité d'être upgradé dans une chambre de l'hôtel car elles n'étaient pas toutes occupées. En effet, en voyant le bungalow, nous nous sommes vite rapprochés de la chambre. Pour le prix (le sud abuse vraiment sur ça), je trouve que le bungalow ET la chambre étaient vraiment trop vétustes. On s'attend à autre chose quand on paie une chambre près de 200 euros la nuit. D'autres hôtels font bien mieux. Pensez à rénover l'ensemble de l'hôtel et pas qu'une seule aile. Point positif : il est situé proche des sites à observer.

There was some kind of smudge on the wall. Bathroom very old. The sink drain leaks. Between the leaking sink and the lack of shower curtain, that meant the whole bathroom floor was wet all the time. Not a pleasant stay. Breakfast at the hotel was good though.

Small but nice accomodations
Very small but had all we needed for a one night stay. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area. The breakfast buffet in the main lodge was very good.

We had a cute little cottage with parking right outside. It was made up very well with linens and tea service. The view was very nice from the breakfast room in the main building and the breakfast was good with a few gluten free options.

Nous avons réservé les cabines. Très minimalistes. Lit et cadres de porte trop petits pour une personne de plus de 6 pieds. Mériterait d’être ventilé à l’occasion car une odeur de vieux bois humide flottait. Le déjeuner inclus par contre était délicieux et varié.

very old and past its glory bungalows/cabins
The bungalows are super old, with broken planks, they are just past their glory. We were located next to the bungalows that were pictured, which were a little bigger but even older. The lady at the front desk was super nice and gave us the option to see another bungalow, but we didn't see much improvement. The hotel itself looks nice, but the upkeep is lacking. A lot of groups with busses were staying, so it was a ZOO!!! In the hallways, in the restaurant (only buffet) and with breakfast (buffet). We will not stay here anymore because of the unclean and old cabin, and the food in buffet style that was ransacked in a matter of minutes. The positive is that the staff was super nice and we made a very nice walk after dinner behind the property around a lake.

Avoid this place
Cabin was fairly good, comfortable and clean, although bathroom could be refurbished soon. Breakfast was good, although a bit crowded and staff not very helpful. The worst is that I forgot a phone charger in my room and called shortly after leaving asking for help, as I didn’t have another. Was worried because I had everything on my phone (plane ticket etc). Reception lady (that didn’t sound helpful) said that she would ask the cleaner that was at the room as we spoke, and would called me back. She never did. When I called again she said that there was nothing left in the room. Clearly they kept my charger and were unwilling to help even when I explained my situation. Very bad experience! Avoid this place, the staff is terrible and unhelpful.

Dear Andre We at hotel Laki are very sorry you lost your charger. Our houskeeping did not find it in your bungalow and therefore you did not receive a phonecall from us to let you know we found it. If we will find it in the future be sure we will give you a call. We also want to make it clear that no one in our team would keep the charger as you state. Our reception lady which was on duty that day is extremely nice and professional. We regret you had such terrible experience and wish you a good stay in Iceland.

These are effectively huts with small showers but no other amenities. The photo implies that they sit in an isolated area but in fact, this is tucked behind a large hotel. The "bungalows" are located right behind the very large Hotel Laki, which mostly seems to serve tour groups. The good thing is that bungalow guests have access to the very good buffet breakfast, but the vibe being situated behind a large hotel is not at all what the pictures would imply.

Overall very good location and easily accessible, Heating wasn't working in one of two unit we rented. Staff immediately provided room heater as alternate. Both bunglows had kitchen facilities and it was well maintained.

Our bungalow was small, cramped and uncomfortable. Beds were very small, lumpy, only 1 pillow each. Shower was 3 X 3. I guess I got what I paid for as the price was reasonable. Breakfast was adequate.

This place is a lot of fun for those who enjoy basic accommodations in a beautiful setting. The cabin was very roomy and came with a fully functional kitchen where one could cook their own meals should they want to save a bit on dining costs (Dining is considerably higher in Iceland than in the U.S. and much of the rest of Europe). There was also a kitchen table and chairs. While small the bathroom was very clean and everything worked great (Plenty of hot water and pressure was excellent). The natural beauty is all around outside and birds were highly enjoyable to watch and hear. Parking was right next to my cabin, so unloading and loading was a snap. The cabin was very clean, but the pillows were bit too thin for me, so you might want to ask for extra pillows when checking in. A breakfast that was served at the hotel on the grounds was also included and the food was great. Be sure to try the eggs; even though they were cooked differently than I am accustomed to, they were very tasty. The jams and cheeses were also superior. I enjoyed my stay and would happily return in the future.

Setting was gorgeous. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. You can arrange and pay for a sack lunch the night before….very convenient if you plan to hike in Vatnajokull NP the following day! Only downside (and this was a big downside for us, with teens as well as emails to catch up on) is there is no wifi in the bungalows.

We absolutely loved our lovely little bungalow! It was set back from the main hotel but only a couple of minutes walk to main reception but it allowed us to park our car right outside our front door. As we learnt travelling around Iceland, it meant we didn’t have to take all our luggage out and could just dip into our suitcases when needed! The bungalow was super clean and the beds were extremely comfortable me after long days out exploring. We also didn’t realise we had breakfast included which was a very welcome surprise. The buffet on offer was fantastic with so many hot and cold options, really filled us up for the day. The location of the property is really well suited and surrounded by yet more beautiful countryside. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or stay here again! The definite bonus was the friendly resident dog who loved playing catch and throw, loved seeing it every morning.

Very old bungalow by the side of the Laki Hotel. To start: there’s no sign on the road indicating Vik bungalows, only Laki Hotel. The bungalows look like abandoned: full of cobwebs and spiders, dirty outside and inside and the bathroom is nothing but terrible. To complete this unpleasant experience the hot water didn’t work in my bungalow, I had to take a cold shower in Iceland! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Look like they forgot about the bungalows and only care about the hotel, but if this is the truth, why are they still reserving the bungalows for guests? And don’t expect wi-fi as well. Anyway, the only good experience was the breakfast.

We loved having our own bungalow type house. The breakfast had many options and was so delicious. Parking was free and available. The staff so helpful. This was an excellent choice in stay along the southern coast! Would definitely stay again.
