Just what we needed on vacation
The apartment is excellently located and has everything you need precisely. Our stay was very pleasant and suited us just right for the vacation. Bree the hostess was available and helpful and gave us a lot of recommendations. Thanks alot, hopefully wll come back

Not suitable for habitation
The property was advertised as a beach shack. It was a 50 year old fibro building with limited access to electricity. It was dirty, with wood rot and peeling paint. The bed was ridiculous, and the offer of a few bits of foam from the renter was a joke. It took three days to work out how to get a hot shower adequately. There is not way this property would meet any building codes and should not be put up for rent. And it was not cheap, so price was not the issue.

Definitely our go to.
Our second stay at Brees cottage this year. Suited us perfectly because we just needed a little place that was comfortable for the two of us and had easy access to the beach. Bree is so friendly and cannot do enough for you. More than happy to stay there again. Definitely our go to.

Off Grid Delight
We enjoyed our off grid stay at the cottage. The cottage is exactly as described. Very clean and tidy and has all required basics for a relaxing getaway. Bree was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Hidden gem!
An oldie but a goodie! 🌴🌿 What an amazing private little piece of paradise, with walking access less than 5 mins to the beach, No drive by cars so very safe for the kids even with a sneaky ocean view to enjoy our happy hour drinks each afternoon. Loved our stay and will be back again. Thanks Bree for sharing your little hidden gem.

No doors, tiny rooms, no real entertaining area. To be fair, it is an old property and for its age I guess it did the job. We were not aware it would be soo small with no doors and snoring kept us all up. It was clean and usable.

Good location. Property manager Bree is very helpful and friendly. Cottage is clean and comfortable enough however some ceiling fans would be appreciated as it gets very hot at night with no breeze. Good fridge and separate chest freezer to keep your food cold. Could not get the oven or grill to work and was frustrated there were no tongs anywhere we could find, otherwise cuutlery and dishes selection good and BBQ cooked well enough. Would stay again but next time I'll bring a fan.

Nice hub with all the basics .
Clean, very simple, the owner very helpful and comunicative. Exactly as described . If you like to disconect, this is the perfect place. Only Telstra works but hard to get coneccion ervey where on the island.

It was off grid and easy to live in.Bree was great to deal with and generous with info about the island, bait and anything else we needed to enjoy our stay. I recommend this groovy little cottage to anyone.

Happy Valley Revisited
Four years ago my wife and I stayed at Bree’s cottage in Happy Valley with my brother & sister-in-law from UK and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were impressed by Bree’s thoughtfulness for her guests. So this year when our daughter and two children living in UK suggested a visit to Fraser Island we immediately thought back to our previous visit and were delighted to find Bree’s cottage was available at a price which compared very favourably with other advertised accommodation. We were not disappointed. Bree welcomed us back on our arrival, gave us an overview of the property and area and, given our two grandchildren were there, ensured that any safety issues were covered. The property is basic, but clean and good value as a base for exploring and enjoying Fraser Island. We knew from previous experience that Bree is concerned for the welfare of her guests and is knowledgeable about the area, providing valuable information and advice. The same applied this visit. The fact that Bree’s property next door was occupied by a family there for the ninth time sums it up — basic but sufficient accommodation with a welcoming introduction and personal attention to her guests.

Best place to reflect the meaning of Fraser Island
Our stay at the cottage was amazing. So simple and prefect. If your truly a Fraser Island person you will love the cottage . But if you want 5 star Gold Coast, stay at the Gold Coast . Bree was so amazing and her place reflects the true meaning of being with one of the island . Thank you Bree for being a amazing host and giving us the chance to experience one of the last Fraser Island beach holidays cottages experiences.

A taste of the timeless K'gari
Good value for money - this quaint little fishing shack was a great jumping off point to explore K'gari. It was brilliant to have a well equipped kitchen to cook our own meals and a outside cooker for some lovely bake ups. Communication with the host was great and she was very generous in helping us to get the cooker working etc, We enjoyed our stay.

K’gari get away

The Ultimate Fishing Shack
Absolutely perfect for three blokes going fishing for a few days. Bree was very accommodating when we arrived and made sure we had everything we required. Very easy access to the beach and general store. No TV but that was all part of the experience. We all came back totally relaxed.

Great little place for a base to see the sights
This is a small hut with basic ammenities suitable for a place to sleep and make food for day trips. Worked for us as we had friends in a house nearby and had dinner with them. Clean and tidy with an old school rustic fit out. Live like the locals have for years. This is no resort experience and be prepared to be part of the surrounds as there’s not enough room to stay home.

Not what we expected
I was overwhelmed at the state of the fishing hut. The property was not ready on arrival we had to wait around for it to be cleaned. The laundry was absolutely disgusting. For the price you pay you expect more. We will not be staying there but booked into a nicer place this year. I think this is more a fishing hut and more suited for men on a fishing trip not families.

No problems, very basic, a bit expensive
We enjoyed our stay on Fraser in January and Bree was nice and welcoming. The listing was as described, very basic, and we had no major issues at the accommodation and enjoyed our trip. However, overall we felt it was expensive for what it was. We are regular visitors to the islands (Fraser/Moreton/Stradddie) and have paid less for nicer, also in peak seasons. Based on the information provided it was difficult to discern what to bring and what not to bring. In the end we packed our usual full camping boxes (minus the tent) and were glad we did, especially to have all of our own kitchen equipment and Webber as cooking with the provided kitchen would have been limiting for us. We couldn’t get the grill or oven working, and ‘no oven’ was not explicitly stated anywhere. The fridge was warm when we arrived which was difficult after a long day travelling with a lot of food in an esky needing to go into a cold fridge, but after a day or so cooled down. We had a great trip but will look for a change next time.

The Cottage
A quaint cottage by the sea. A place you can just relax and enjoy nature. If you’re looking for something simple, a grade above camping, with only the sound of birds and the ocean then this is for you.

Beautiful spot on island paradise
Thanks Bree for hosting our family. Your little cottage had provided us with the perfect experience of Island life. It was all we needed after a long day out and to kick back, have a cold beer and play card games with the teens. We had the best time to check out and detox from our busy everyday life. The cottage was in the best location, had everything we needed. We enjoyed our chit chats with you, hope you keep well and we will be back again very soon!

The property was very clean and self containable, perfect beach getaway with ocean views.
Great little beach shack with ocean views close to the beach. If you want to escape your television shows and enjoy a clean and tidy beachside cottage experience, being totally self contained with native bush surrounds, then this is what you’ll get. We plan to return.

Great location for exploring Fraser Is
Well-equipped property with excellent, caring host who quickly became more of a friend than a business manager. We were very appreciative of Bree's concern for the welfare of her guests when, exploring the island, we were cut off by the tide in the evening on our way back to the cottage and she contacted us to ensure that we were all safe. The same comment applies to her thoughtfulness in ensuring that an injury sustained was attended to.
