Key Largo - Fun
The property was exactly as advertised. The place was very clean and the added extras (paddles, pickleball equipment, fishing poles, etc.) were a nice surprise. I would recommend this location to anyone needing a sunny vacation in a prime venue. Kent was a great Host and we used his recommendations for local restaurants and pubs.

There were pluses and minuses.
Pluses: Everything about the grounds were beautiful, especially the dining area. The grounds are the reason to stay at this property - absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed the kayaking and the paddles and life jackets our host provided. (The management at Moon Condominiums needs to remove the many broken boats.) Minuses: In the king bedroom, the pillows were disgusting. A very puffy sham pillow was placed in the regular sleeping pillowcase. I had to swap them because the sham pillows were too uncomfortable for my husband and myself to sleep on. The flatter pillows should be thrown away due to staining and stuffing coming out. Our host was prompt when we requested washcloths and additional hand towels for the two bathrooms and the kitchen (as there were only one hand towel per room and no useful washcloths. If you do laundry be sure to set the water to "warm." The coldwater selection cannot fill the washer for over an hour. Also, you'll need a pen to hold open the washer lid as that is broken too. The coffee mugs glaze heats up in the microwave so be careful. For a party of four there were not enough silver ware (3 knives) or glasses. I could add more but not needed - you get the drift. This condo is as described - enjoyed by their family during the summer and rented out otherwise. This property is missing the polish you would have expected for the considerable sum we paid for two weeks. A fancy countertop cannot compensate for the basics.

Good Morning Stacey, We were very disappointed to read this review after being so responsive to any and all of your request before and during the first few days of your stay. Before your stay we rented extra kayaks, paddles and life vest; provided you extra bedding for the "two loud snorers", a Crock-pot, beach chairs and fishing tackle. As you stated we provided extra towels and new washcloths the same morning of your request. After that request the second day, we did not hear anything the rest of your stay. Having the opportunity to make your stay more comfortable would have been appreciated. Overall, we are glad you enjoyed your vacation and stay at MoonBay. Kent

Wonderful Stay
This was our second time at Kent’s unit. We love the location of Moon Bay, the clubhouse, the waterfront area, and the sunsets! The unit has everything we needed, and Kent was welcoming and super responsive. Great all-around!

Another Great Stay at Moon Bay
We’ve stayed at Moon Bay fours or five times and it never disappoints. The location is wonderful and there’s never a lack of amenities at Moon Bay or a lack of things to do in the Keys. The sunsets are magnificent right from the dock at Moon Bay! People are super nice and the property manager was great. We’ve found a gem in Key Largo!

Many pluses and minuses for this property. However, overall it reminded me of Student housing: Rode hard and put away wet. On the plus: Great responses from the owner. Easy Check-in Great pool Nice kitchen appliances and upgrade The minus side: Towels found in the dryer (on the third day) Needs maintenance: paint, baseboards, shredded curtains, general overall clean-up One roll of toilet paper in one bathroom No paper towels Towels found in the dryer (on the third day). Bin of dirty laundry(?) left in the hallway. Full body weight is needed to close the sliding glass door.

Great Family Vacation Over Christmas Holiday!

Phenomenal time
We spent a week at Kents place and it was a great time. Kent was a great host, answered all of our questions promptly and even had someone meet us at the dock of the property to help us park our boat and ensure we were able to do so without any problems. We will certainly be back.

Relaxing 3 weeks
The apartment felt like home! Everything that was needed was there. Host aimed to please. Pool area was relaxing and never too busy or noisy and usually very sunny. The area is within walking distance of food stores and restaurants if wanted. A couple of area beaches are really nice. Trip to Key West was pleasant. All in all a great vacation escape from NY. We love the area. Will be back!

Nice getaway in the keys.
Place is easy to access, 1.5 baths and the half bath helps a lot. The den with the futon can serve as an extra bed for someone. Would definitely stay again, a great place if you plan on exploring the Keys most of the time you’re here.

Perfect Key Largo Getaway
My husband and I were in the area for a family wedding. We LOVED our stay at Moon Bay. The host was excellent in providing all the details and amenities needed for our stay. The condo was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the extra touches with extra paper products and soaps. Our host was always quick to respond when we had any additional questions. We would highly recommend this property to others and will definitely consider staying again in the future.

Overall great property with some tweaks needed
We love coming to the Keys and were happy to support a fellow VRBO owner. We waited to review the property as we wanted to be thoughtful in our review. The community has many wonderful amenities and we enjoyed our stay overall. Our biggest concern was that the bedrooms were not as advertised. The photos show 2 regular twin beds with headboards in the 2nd BR. What we had was one regular twin bed and one trundle on the floor, not a regular bed at all. When my sons decided they didn't want to share a room, one went into the den/office area to sleep. However, the futon in there is more of a loveseat size and when opened up, could not fit one large child, never mind 1 to 2 adults. The condo is advertised as able to sleep 6. It's important to be clear on what your guests should expect. The master bedroom was nice, just as advertised, as was the rest of the condo.

Thank you for your review. Yes, the headboard for one of the twin beds was broken by a recent guest and a temporary trundel was put in it's place. We did not believe this was going to be an issue with your stay as your reservation was only for 2 adults. As you noted, 2 additional guests stayed in the unit and the reservation was never updated. MoonBay requires an accurate guest count per stay and an additional guest fee is added to the reservation. If you would have called, or reached out via VRBO, we could of advised how to properly extend the futon in the front den as well as provided access to the closet that contains the additional sheets. Thanks again for taking the time to provide a review post stay, but we wish you would have been more proactive communicating before and during your stay. Kent

Simply Amazing Accomodations
Beautiful, clean, comfortable, well equipped property. Owner is both personal and professional. We very much appreciated Ken's excellent communication, availability and support. The unit was nicely updated and one of the cleanest places we've ever stayed. The entire unit was simply amazing. Kent has the unit equipped with pretty much everything you would ever need, just add food, drink, and yourself. You don't have to make a run to Publix to buy a pan to cook breakfast with your first morning. We love Key Largo, Moon Bay, and simply amazing unit 207.

It’s hard not to enjoy yourself at Moon Bay! The waterfront is a great place to hang out during the day and for celebrating sunsets in the evenings. Location is good and walkable to several restaurants. Owner, Kent, was responsive and accommodating.

Good but not great
Stayed between Christmas into New Years. Everything (floors, counters and bedsheets) were pretty gritty/sandy upon arrival. Required our needing to sweep up and rewashed all the bedsheets. Property owner offered to send cleaners out again, but by then I had already swept everything up. Few days later when I went to open the 2nd bedroom window found the window ledge at the latch point was coated in a thick layer of dust. Place is situated right on Overseas Highway, so there is constant road noise of the traffic zooming by. Not horrible, but noticeable. The second bedroom closet was full of random stuff which I had to shift over and cram into one side to be able to hang up stuff in the other half of the closet. Several drawers in second bedroom were also crammed full of owner’s stuff. While most of the unit has been renovated recently, there are still some elements that are showing a lot of age (examples are: bathroom fans are very loud and clogged with dust and blinds in 2nd bedroom would not lower properly). The place had plenty of pots and pans, but couldn’t find any hot mitts or trivets to handle items out of the oven. We also could only find two kitchen towels and no hand towels for the bathrooms. Moon Bay communal property was quite nice with a very nice community room and picnicking area with several charcoal grills. We also spotted a couple of manatees around the marina on our last evening while out enjoying the sunset. Overall, an ok place to stay - but don’t think we would stay here again.

Moon Bay resort is amazing!
What makes this place is the common areas. The pool with the kiddie pool is perfect for children. The picnic areas with view of the sunsets are well placed and maintained, super easy bbq's and lots of them. Lots of nice people around. We stayed in bldg. A. It's right out to the highway, however the living room and one of the bedrooms face the parking lot. So it's not that big of a deal. The balcony overlooks the parking lot, but it's plenty big and quiet at night time. The apartment is nice, needs a little update, but nothing serious. Great wifi and TV

Tropical Destination for a Reasonable Price
We really enjoyed our time in Key Largo. This property is conveniently located within a short driving distance of many amenities. While the property does not have a view of the ocean/bay, a short walk will take you to a beautiful pool and to hammocks by a small harbor. The accommodations were spacious and quite suitable for up to 4-5 people. Everything was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed access to the pool, tennis courts, and game rooms. We had a blast.

The condo was great. Very large and super nice kitchen. Great pool and common area near the marina. It's in a great location near good restaurants and lots of activities. If you are in the islands to scuba dive "sail fish scuba" was great and right down the road. I would highly recommend this condo.

A Great Vacation
We were impressed from the moment we arrived! The property is well-maintained, quiet, and full of Florida Keys charm. You just can't beat the nightly sunsets and tranquility at Moon Bay. Our family loved staying at Kent's condo. It was clean and comfortable. It was a two minute walk to the pool and dock. The clubhouse was fantastic for our family to hang out, eat, play ping pong, corn hole, and just relax!! But by far, the best part was enjoying the amazing view! Thank you Kent...we will be sure to return one day soon!!!

Absolutely Fantastic Option for Key Largo!
We traveled to Key Largo with our teenage son, and we could not have asked for a more accommodating host. Kent responded within minutes anytime we had a question, and the condo was absolutely perfect for us. It is a very quiet complex, and the unit is easy to access. The pool area is very well kept, and the pier off of the beach provided a wonderful spot to watch the sunsets. The condo included everything we needed, and we enjoyed our entire stay. We would stay here again, and we highly recommend the property if you are going to be in the Key Largo area!

My adult daughter and I had a great stay here - clean, quiet and comfortable!
This place was just the right one for us - my daughter and I wanted a relaxing getaway and this place was it. The decor is a bit dated but everything worked and was functional and the Key Largo site is a good place to see all the keys and enjoys all the activities they have to offer! I would stay here again!

Beautiful Resort and a Great Unit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Kent's condo, it was very clean, well kept, and the kitchen had all the supplies we need. Thanks for the coffee! The balcony was our favorite place to relax as it was a little chilly in the mornings. MoonBay sunsets were amazing. Walking distance to a few nice restaurants. Excellent condo with great location
The condo fit all of our needs for a quick weekend diving trip. The kitchen was well stocked for basic cooking, and there were nice bar stools at the counter to eat at. The host kindly provided plenty of towels, including larger beach towels, which was very helpful. Strangely, there were not any hand towels in the bathrooms - but perhaps that was an accidental omission. The condo area is quiet at night and well insulated from outside noise. The pool and lounge area with ping pong was also a nice benefit. Overall it was a great place to stay on short notice, and we would certainly return!

Wonderful stay!
My family and I stayed over the Labor Day weekend. We greatly enjoyed the condominium and the facilities at Moon Bay The kitchen was fully equipped and the unit was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come again. Encountered a few hiccups with the thermometer turning up to 85 degrees and not being able to adjust the auto set, but the owner quickly responded and was able to fix the issue before we returned back from our activities from the day. Rating 4 out of 5 because there was a strange musty odor when you walked in and that lasted during the stay. Almost smelled of sewage so we had to go purchase some air fresheners to help with it. Overall great experience and I would recommend to others.

Thank you for the feedback. It was unfortunate that the Programmable Thermostat for the A/C was incorrectly adjusted by a previous guest. This error in judgement caused the unit not to run the proper cooling schedule and the unit to be warm for your arrival. As you stated, we do pride ourselves on being super responsive to any concerns and were able to schedule our A/C technician to remedy the situation before you and your guest returned Saturday morning from your boat trip. A cover has been placed over the thermostat so the program can no longer be adjusted. Thanks again and we look forward to having you join us again. Kent

Amenities were great but....
The amenities the complex offered were great. Easy check-in. The unit had some good updates such as the kitchen, baths, tile floors, tile shower, granite counters, stainless appliances, adequately equipped kitchen with ample glasses & dishes. For these reasons I would recommend maybe around 4 stars. However, the most important matter to us is that it was not clean. I don't know who did the cleaning but it certainly was not done professionally. The floors were dirty. The tight areas had not been vacuumed or mopped. I found dust and hairs on the floors and in the shower drain.The shower had mildewed tile and a bar of used soap left in the soap tray. The guest bedroom closet was full of personal things and household equipment. It seemed as though someone had used the unit and not had it cleaned afterwards. I cleaned, did sheets and towels and washed the dishes that we would need all for over 2 hours before we unpacked. Very disappointed since I had stressed to the owner how cleanliness was more important than a view. The owner was very nice but needs to fire the cleaning staff! Only for these reasons I can't recommend this rental unit.

We believe in second chances so when the cleaning company from December asked for a second chance we provided it to them when our regular cleaning crew took some time off after a long and excellent season. We are taking your advice and we have fired that company for good. Even though you did not request it, we are providing you a full refund of your cleaning fee.
