Our family of four really enjoyed being able to see horses, dogs and kittens (all safely enclosed in their own spaces) while staying at this well appointed property - they even provided a few snacks for our arrival! Travelers should note there are not a lot of food or grocery shopping options nearby (15-20 minutes) so some planning ahead is recommended.
Our stay went very well. The host was very quick to respond to every question and was very helpful! It is an adorable cottage! My only concern was that the air did not cool the property very well.
Booked my parents for a couple of days and the below is their review:âMy husband and I just returned from a lovely stay at The Pony Cafe in Keswick, Virginia.I can not begin to tell you what a wonderful, relaxing, beautiful place The Pony Cafe is.We were fortunate to meet Miley Pace one of the owners during our all too brief stay. Miley was so friendly, accommodating, and courteous. In the hustle and bustle of every day life, just take a moment to envision spending a few days on a beautiful horse farm. Waking up in the morning and opening the doors from a cottage that is decorated to perfection with loving, artistic talent (by Miley's mother, Laurie); and, enjoying the first cup of coffee of the day. We so enjoyed watching the horses in the fields, seeing deer come out of the woods foraging for grass; as well as, the songs of all the birds in the trees. What a perfect start to the day. Then, after touring about the peaceful countryside, to return in the afternoon; and, take in this beautiful scenery once again, while leisurely enjoying a glass of wine⊠Perfection. To give The Pony Cafe a rating of ten, is insufficient. We cannot wait to return for another relaxing respite in this beautiful countryside.â
We were just visiting Charlottesville and the surrounding area for a few days during Spring Break. We live in northern VA and have spent time in the area, but more for work and less for fun. The cottage was great, clean, and calming. The hosts were responsive and friendly as well. If youâre looking for a place somewhat off the beaten path but close enough to all the things to do in the area, this is a great spot! If you love horses, Ruby is super friendly and will come say hello anytime!
