Enjoy two private condos together at Mauna Lani Point, a gated oceanfront community set along the lava coastline and the Mauna Lani golf course on the sunny Kohala Coast of Hawaii's Big Island. Each condo has 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a half bathroom, so your group gets 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 2 half bathrooms, two kitchens and two living areas, with beds for 8 guests. The grounds have a heated pool, a whirlpool spa, saunas and a pool pavilion with an outdoor kitchen, and every guest gets a keycard for the gated Mauna Lani Beach Club and its white-sand cove.



What we guarantee: Both condos are always inside Mauna Lani Point. Condo 1 is a 2-bedroom condo and Condo 2 is a 2-bedroom condo, with exactly the beds listed below in every bedroom. Condo 1's covered lanai looks over the golf course fairways and the lava fields to the ocean; Condo 2 has a fairway view. Both homes are kept to the same quality standard, with finishes similar to what you see in these photos. If we ever could not deliver that, you would approve the alternative first or receive a full refund.



Bed types: Condo 1 - Master Bedroom: King; Bedroom 2: 2 Twin / Singles; Condo 2 - Master Bedroom: Queen; Bedroom 2: 2 Twin / Singles.



Each condo sleeps 4 guests in beds, for 8 in total. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, and each condo adds a half bath for visitors, so no one in the group has to share. Both condos have air conditioning, a washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining table for six.



Good to know before you book: each condo has its own front door and its own entry details, so the two halves of the group keep their own schedules. There is a 4-night minimum, with check-in from 3 PM and check-out by 11 AM.



The Space:

Condo 1 (2BR ocean and golf view): Condo 1 takes in 180-degree views of the golf course fairways, the black lava fields and the ocean from its covered lanai, the spot for morning coffee and sunsets. Inside, tropical wall art, floral accents and potted greenery set the island mood, and a vaulted, wood-paneled living room ceiling, custom kitchen cabinets and granite counters add to its charm. The primary bedroom has a king bed, opens onto the lanai and has an en-suite bathroom with an oversized glass-brick shower with dual shower heads. The second bedroom, on the opposite side for privacy, has two twin beds, a large window onto the tropical grounds and a bathroom with a tub and shower, and there is a half bath. The kitchen is fully equipped, the dining table seats six, and it has central air conditioning, ceiling fans, TVs in each bedroom and a washer and dryer. It sleeps 4.



Condo 2 (2BR fairway view): Condo 2 looks out over the fairways. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom, and the second bedroom has two twin beds, with a second full bathroom and a half bathroom. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table for six, air conditioning, a washer and dryer and a private outdoor space. It sleeps 4.



The community: Mauna Lani Point is a fully gated community on the oceanfront lava coastline, surrounded by the Mauna Lani golf course. Guests share a swimming pool, a hot tub, saunas and a pool pavilion with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ grills, and parking on property is free. Both condos are within Mauna Lani Point, so the whole group shares the same pool, pavilion and grounds.



Two condos rather than one large house give a group the best of both worlds: everyone gathers at the pool pavilion for a barbecue or at the Beach Club for the day, and then each family or couple has its own kitchen, living area and lanai to retreat to, so early risers and night owls never get in each other's way.



Guest Access:

Your reservation includes the private interiors of both condos, each with its own front door and its own entry details, plus the gated grounds at Mauna Lani Point, with a heated pool, a whirlpool spa, saunas and a pool pavilion with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ grills. Guests also get a keycard for the gated Mauna Lani Beach Club, less than a mile away.



The Neighborhood:

Mauna Lani Point is in the Mauna Lani resort on the Kohala Coast, known for its consistently sunny, dry weather and dramatic black lava fields meeting the blue Pacific. Your keycard opens the gated Mauna Lani Beach Club, less than a mile away and about 2 minutes by car, with a white-sand cove where you can swim, snorkel and paddleboard in calm water. Napua Restaurant, perched above the beach, serves open-air oceanfront dining with fresh, locally inspired island cuisine.



The Mauna Lani Golf Club is about 2 minutes by car, with courses laid out across the lava fields along the ocean. The Shops at Mauna Lani, with restaurants and dining options, are about 4 minutes away, and Foodland Farms, for stocking both kitchens, and Mauna Lani Coffee Company are about 4 minutes as well. Kalahuipua'a Historic Park, with its ancient Hawaiian fishponds and shoreline trail, is about a 5-minute drive.



Winter brings humpback whales along the Kohala Coast, and the sunsets over the ocean are spectacular in every season. Beyond the resort, the Big Island's headline sights make wonderful day trips: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, the town of Hilo, the green valleys of North Kohala and the ranch country of Waimea.



A typical day here starts with coffee on the lanai looking over the fairways, moves to the Beach Club cove for swimming and snorkeling in the afternoon, and ends back at the pool pavilion, where the outdoor kitchen and grills make it easy to cook one big dinner for everyone.



Getting Around:

Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport (KOA) is about 22 to 24 miles south of the Mauna Lani resort, typically a 25- to 30-minute drive along Queen Kaahumanu Highway. A car is the easiest way to get around, since the Beach Club, golf, shops and groceries are each a few minutes' drive and public transit on this side of the island is limited. Parking is free.
