A touch of la vie francaise in Kampala.
Lovely quiet hotel with great French restaurant. Grounds are lush and green. Hotel is small, which makes it nice. Rooms are individual bungalows with thatch roofs, terraces, and bathtubs. Beds are a bit hard!

"Le petit village" ist ein kleines Hotel, das afrikanischem Flair mit europäischen Komfort verbindet. Es liegt nicht im Zentrum, aber noch in einer akzeptablen Entfernung zu diesem. Allerdings bringt seinen Nähe zum Vergnügungsviertel Kabalagala es mit sich, dass an den Wochenenden von Donnerstag bis Sonntag Nacht die Lärmbelästigung durch Musik sehr hoch ist.

Great, except for noise!
I've always wanted to stay here on a trip to Kampala and I finally did on a sat and Sunday night. I was relieved when the hotel driver was still waiting for me although my flight was several hours late. The staff is great, very helpful with every request. However, I don't think I've ever slept so little at a hotel. The club across the street plays extremely loud music from 9 pm to 5 am. I thought Sunday night would be better, but it was worse than sat. Night, I don't know how it is during the week, but if you need to get some sleep I don't recommend staying here, which is a shame because it's such a nice little hotel. Maybe bring ear plugs, but not sure how much it would help as the music sounds like it's next door.

This has very good reviews and is a good hotel. The only thing is that my taxi driver couldn't find it, even with me printing off a map! Tell them it is near the American Embassy - should help!

Haven in chaos
The hotel is very friendly and accommodating in all aspects. Found rooms to be comfortable and clean. Food at the restaurant is superb with locals actually visiting for a meal. Stayed in room 10 at back of complex, was actually great to be away from the main road. Power failure on 2 days when rain started...but that could be an electrical problem in the area...restored very quickly however. Only disappointments were that internet access cut off continuously and the club across the main road continued to bang out thumping music until 5am every night, including Sunday!

Room was very large, clean, and generally good. I did order a two suites and only one got a suite but this was a small compliant. French bakery next door is top notch and the included breakfast is excellent. The pool is small but nice.

No internet! Major let down
I know this is Uganda, but I was really put in a terrible spot because I had a ton of online work to do for my job, and the internet worked maybe 5% of the time I was there. I had to go to coffee shops (through taxis) to get internet, where I had to pay for it. This is supposed to be "part" of your hotel stay, but it is not. For me, internet is a necessity while traveling, not a luxury. Also, someone's room was broken into while I was there (nothing was stolen - he had everything valuable in his safe). Further, the staff was alternately helpful and unhelpful. It took an argument at one point to get a bottle of water from the front desk. The rooms are clean and nice, but the shower was grimy. I wouldn't stay there again next time I go to Kampala. Way overpriced for what you get.

We extended our stay and were moved to an Executive Suite from a Junior Executive Suite. The Junior was nicer! Overall a pleasant stay. The adjoining restaurant and coffee shop were excellent.

Excellent plays to stay in Kampala
Wonderful and nice plays to stay in Kampala. Just outside downtown of Kampala, but anyway close to reach all the main sites by car/taxi. Even though the hotel is situated by a central road in Kampala, the hotel site is calm and quiet. Wonderful rooms, with good beds and interior style which is nice. Good food at the restaurant, and also a confectionery at he hotel with good cakes. The swimming pool is a bit small, but do you have time for swimming and sun bathing when visiting Kampala.

Ingen 24 timmars roomservice. Dåligt när man kommer fram efter kl 23 och inte kan beställa något alls att äta. Frukosten var inte alls vad man kan förvänta sig. Det var ett mycket litet utbud av vad man tycker en "Brittish Breakfast" skall ha. Priset var högt för vad man får. Restaurangen var väl OK men inget speciellt.

It was a nice surprise to find Le Petit Village in Kampala. This is a nice boutique hotel, with extraordinary food, great service, and clean. Ask for a room as far as possible from Ggaba road, otherwise is noisy!

The hotel Le Petit village hotel on Ggaba Road in Kampala,Uganda was a great choice for my two week stay in Uganda. The amenities, location, food, spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms as well as the friendliness of all the employees, made the stay a pleasant one.

An African oasis
This hotel is a perfect place to relax and to escape the chaos of the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely furnished in a safari style and spacious. However, by night it is not bright enough to read, exept in the bed. The location is good, as it is not too far from the city centre. With the hotel goes a restaurant, butchery and a patisserie.

The hotel was very nice, the staff and restaurant were excellent. The room was generally comfortable and welcoming, the view within the compound was very pleasant. The room also had a small microwave, frig, and a locking safe. The bathroom in the room was lacking in privacy, and was awkward. The hotel is in a central location, and with that convenience there was significant noise, so much so that we had some trouble sleeping. The free water , beer, and champagne were nice touches, as was the pool and patio outside our room. The availability of the bakery and other conveniences were also appreciated.

This if a very well appointed hotel with a great restaurant and very pleasant staff. It is, unfortunately, beside a slum area in Kampala and is a fair distance from the center of the city so travel can be a problem during the "jam". The rooms are large, clean, and well-equipped. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Kampal.

Not bad but not in Kampala.
This was a very decent hotel with excellent staff. However, it is not in Kampala (a few miles south) and so the cab ride will cost you a little more. The room was clean and well-maintained. Hot water available. My only "complaint" was that the bathroom is separated from the rest of the room by a stone half-wall (fine if you're just taking a shower with someone else in the room, not so good if you're doing #2).

Yje hotel is 3yrs old, designed & decorated well but the management is not up to par. We had to move to 3 different room during our stay because a number of things not working, eg AC, ants, leaking taps etc. If you're vegggie, don't bother with this place very poor menu that never changes. The staff generally are friendly but after visiting a Mweya lodge for one night, these guys have a lot of room for improvement.

I stayed here for work but would come back on vacation in a heartbeat. The ground were beautiful, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I love that every room has its own patio and lots of light!

A hidden paradise in Kampala.
It took me some time to decide on a hotel in Kampala to spend the last 4 days of my vacation in Uganda. I made the right choice. La Petite Village is everything that they promise and more. The rooms are spacious, clean and with a big veranda. The environment is calm and relaxed and the staff forthcoming and professional. Having an excellent restaurant, a bakery, a small shopping center and a fruit market adds to the quality that the hotel offers. Best choice I could make and for a reasonable price.
