Chambre 10 : terrible odeur dans les placards due sûrement au revêtement intérieur. Obligé de laver la vaisselle chaque fois avant usage. Connexion internet lamentable. Juste possible de relever ses mails. Confort du lit à revoir on a l'impression de coucher sur un matelas à eau qui rebondit à chaque mouvement.

Destination à privilégier
Le soleil a agrémenté notre séjour malgré le vent qui nous a privés de la sortie en mer "whale watch" (houle trop importante) mais la promenade le long du Pacifique de 2h fut très vivifiante. L'hôtel est très calme et situé à côté de Countdown pour les courses. Très bons fish&chips en ville (blue cod) et jolis magasins (Geneviève's).

Warning! Avoid this place!
We stayed there two nights and unfortunately we had prepaid our stay. The room looks more like the interior of a caravan, worn out and old. We've had the smallest double bed since we set boot in NZ. The service is very bad... We had to beg for internet, which comes in the form of vouchers for 200mb. Beds had not been made the next day and when I enquired, the landlord told me they didn't do beds because people leave personal stuff on the beds (!!??!!). That is lousiest excuse I have ever heard. Now in my opinion I can think of two reasons for not making our bed. Laziness or they couldn't stand having two guys sharing the same bed. Worst stay and service in NZ so far.

Very well equipped and spacious room. Was a late evening arrival and appreciated light and heat being on. Would not consider any other place in Kaikōura.

Fantastic location, just a literal skip over the train tracks and you’re on the beach! Everything was pristine in the room, very comfortable. Quick drive into town with tons of shopping and food options. The seal colony nearby was a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend the Alpine View for a lovely stay!

We arrived quite late and the staff had turned on the lights in our room and as it was cool theu had turned on the heat. Just so thoughtful.

Beach access is through the back gate of the Motel, which is fantastic for surf casting (good fishing spot), picnics, and walks on the beach. Walking distance to supermarket. Very clean, and well presented.

The unit was quiet, warm, clean, and roomy . There was everything we needed to enjoy a nights accommodation . Our host had already put the heater on before we arrived as the temperature had dropped .

Very quiet and well located for supermarket and beach walks. Adjacent to railway line but did not hear any night traffic. Pleasant sheltered garden with BBQ at rear of property was a delight in very hot weather. No heat pump aircon but fan cooler did the trick.

Alpine View is the bomb! For our short stay at Alpine, it delivered over and above! Excellent location - understatement! Backing onto Tahuna Campgrounds, we stayed at the back of the complex overlooking the campsite. Using the back alleyway, our kids had the best amenities! Free tractor rides! Playground! Mini golf and pedal carts we hired each day! The camp site has amazing grounds to walk through, mega swing and flying fox! Cafe at the doorstep. A footpath takes you through the park grounds and onto the beach, amazing beach walks and dinner dates on the beach! Kids paradise, not needing the pool. Alpine is friendly, clean, comfortable, just a chilled stay! Coupled with kids movies, comfy beds and clean bathroom and kitchen - it’s the place to stay!

The room quite big, clean and tidy. The only negative thing the room doesn't have an aircon but they provide a fan. We only stay for a nite, so not really a big deal. Other than that it was lovely to stay here.

Great spot for all things Kaikoura
The place worked out great. It had comfortable beds, good heat on a cold rainy day, right next to the ocean and parking right outside our door. We didn't have any issues hearing neighbors, just the train that went by a few times at night. But it was perfect for being close to our tour with The Dolphin Encounter. I would stay there again and recommend to anyone needing a place to stay.

Thoroughly loved my stay, unit was warm, comfy, had a fabulous shower and everything else i needed. Love the container for food scraps for the chooks and having beautiful complimentary fresh parsley growing just outside the door.
