Oceanfront Cottage: Where Natural Beauty Meets Modern Comfort

The Creekside Cottage is a newly renovated, modern two-story vacation home situated on a park-like, six-acre oceanfront property known as the Seaward Estate. Historically, Seaward was one of five salmon trap sites along the Juan de Fuca Strait until the 1950s.

Seaward offers a variety of stunning natural landscapes, including two beaches with thousands of feet of picturesque coastline, West Coast forest, and woodland trails. It remains one of the most exceptional oceanfront properties in the Greater Victoria Region. With real estate values steadily increasing over the past two decades, many high-quality oceanfront properties have been subdivided and redeveloped. A large, original oceanfront estate like Seawardā€”preserved in its natural beauty and historical integrityā€”is truly rare.

The Creekside Cottage is located beside a small, natural creek and offers over 1,400 square feet of living space. The main floor features an open-concept layout with a living room, dining area, and kitchen. A south-facing wall of floor-to-ceiling windows provides breathtaking views of the Juan de Fuca Strait and the Olympic Mountains. A cozy patio offers outdoor seating, a dining table, and a BBQ for guests to enjoy.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The first is a loft-style room with a king-size bed, open to the living space below, with windows facing south directly toward the ocean. The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and three windowsā€”one facing south toward the ocean and the other two overlooking the gardens and ocean to the west. A full bathroom with laundry facilities is located on the second floor, and a powder room is available on the main floor. Additionally, a small attic space accessible from the second bedroom provides the perfect hideaway for young children. A sofa bed in the living room offers extra sleeping accommodations.

A beach house on East Beach provides a place for children to play and adults to relax. Naturally, guests love spending time on the beaches. The East Beach features a flatter, pebbled surface, ideal for walking, while the West Beach offers giant rocks, hidden coves, and secret spots perfect for adventure. Many guests enjoy exploring the forest trails. Benches at the end of the Sunset Trail and Otter Trail are perfect for reading, wildlife watching, or enjoying a sunset. Others like to plan a picnicā€”whether breakfast, lunch, or dinnerā€”on the picnic deck at the end of the Orca Trail.

The Seaward Estate includes Rose Cottage (Vrbo 1333347), Rowan Cottage (Vrbo 1340568), and Creekside Cottage (Vrbo 2229506). Creekside Cottage is about 50 feet from Rowan Cottage and 200 feet from Rose Cottage. All cottages are oriented with windows facing the ocean. None of the cottages have windows that directly face each other, ensuring privacy for all guests.

The creekside Cottage offers discounted rates:

Weekly rate: $1,212.75 for 7 days ( from January 1st to March 15th only)

Monthly rate: $3927 for 28 days ( from January 1st to March 15th only)

We had a wonderful weekend at Creekside Cottage. The grounds are amazing. We could sit and watch the water for hours. Always something to see out there. The place is perfect as described. Comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. Everything is well thought out including a nice coffee machine that does both k cups and brewed coffee. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Creekside cottage. We had great communication with the host, from the time of booking to the end of our stay. Ray, the caretaker, is truly a gem, and made sure we were well stocked with coffee, shampoo, soap, towels, etc. The view of the sea from the loft bedroom, as well as the living room, is amazing. As others noted, the loft is open to the floor below, so if you are not an early riser and your partner is, you may want to sleep in the other bedroom, which is equally comfortable, and has great views as well. Everything is extremely well laid out, and we felt very private, even with the other two cottages occupied. The view of the strait is so mesmerizing that I'm surprised we left the cottage at all, but we had fun exploring all the regional and community parks in the area, and did lots of hiking and general exploring. I give my highest recommendation for this property.

We were completely delighted with our recent stay at Creekside Cottage. It has excellent amenities, and is roomy, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The setting and landscaping are gorgeous. It really has a terrific view of the ocean, even better than we expected.The location is perfect for folks like us who like something tucked away and idyllic, but donā€™t want to be too isolated. This feels very private, but is an easy hop to Sooke.We also really enjoyed our chats with caretaker Ray, who is very friendly and approachable and has a wealth of information about the area.In short, Seaward Cottages is a great place to stay, and we definitely plan to return!

Creekside Cottage was the perfect place for our girls getaway. Lots of room and the cottage had everything we needed. It was a great location, with many popular hiking, restaurants and beaches close by to explore. Ray, the maintenance manager, was also very attentive and provided extra towels and blankets. We wanted an ocean-front property where we could just sit, relax, walk on the beach, or sit near the shore watching and listening to the oceanā€¦and this served our purpose wonderfully. Well-equipped home, with stunning views. Lovely paths/stairs to either beach with well maintained trail. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the incredible view. We didnā€™t leave the property for the duration of our visit. Large main floor, with all kinds of seating to enjoy the view, and all the kitchen amenities you could want. Upstairs with two bedrooms is cozy, with a shared bathroom. Both rooms have lots of space, and the one has a secret stairway to a kidsā€™ place space. King bed is in a loft and open to below, but it has the most incredible views to wake up to! Some traffic noise from the main road, but the waves and the wind tend to drown it all out. Our first visit, but certainly wonā€™t be our last. It was everything we hoped for!

The property is very well kept and we weren't disappointed. Kristi the property manager went out of her way to assist, during a weather related power outage our first 24 hours. She helped with an endless supply of wood to use in the woodstove and recommended local dining establishments that we enjoyed. This was a perfect home base to explore many of the hiking trails in the area. There were many seating areas to enjoy the setting sun and watch the sea lions and eagles. We loved it so much that we have booked again for next year.

This property and house is spectacular! The location, views, open space, trails, beach are what makes this an experience not to be missed. The wildlife (seals, sea lions, eagles, otters, bear, etc) viewable from the property was exactly what we were looking for. The house was modern, clean, and comfortable. Two things to consider: 1. There are two other houses on the same property that are closer together than I realized on the site so itā€™s not quite as private as I expected 2. The primary bedroom is an open loft with a shared bathroom with the 2nd bedroom so the privacy within the house is not as private as I was originally expecting I highly recommend this listing as a destination on Vancouver Island because unless you own your own home on the island, I doubt youā€™re going to find many other rentals that are going to give you the experience this home provides.

We were delighted to see whales many times during our 4 night stay at Creekside. This property is perfect to view all the activity in the ocean from, and the grounds are stunning and beautifully kept, with lots of little sitting areas. On our last night there we saw the most stunning sunset we've ever seen! There are 3 cottages and our family stayed in 2 of them. Creekside is the more modern of the 3 and, although it was lovely, we prefer a more cozy one. If you like ultra modern and sleek, then I would recommend this one. The cottages are all very privately located from each other. We will be back to stay at Rowan Cottage, which is more suited to us and also has the best views. Ray was kind enough to show it to us in between guests, and we really enjoyed talking with him. All in all, one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in on the West Coast.
