Not the best
Unit was very dirty, floor in bathroom covered in hair, and a lot of maintenance is required in the unit. Bath towels are so tiny, and very stained and had hair embedded in the towels Shower had no pressure, shower head attached with tape. Where tiles are broken in the shower the problem was resolved with silicone. Walls and ceiling very dirty and aircons dont work

Great Place, good stay but false Advertising
My stay was a mix bag, let me start with the bad. I booked a Standard Twin Room which showed a Couch, nice big balcony and a Washing Machine. When I arrived they gave me a narrow room, with a 60cm desk, a stool and a 40cm wide balcony. After a long discussion the 'Manager' told me that I was correct with seeing pics of an Apartment and not the Twin but the description was correct and I should have seen it. Totally false Advertising on their part. They asked now for an extra fee, which I wasnt willing to pay. Long story short: Hotel.com compensated me with a voucher and the Manager gave me a better rate for the room on the pictures I booked. Now the good after the first bad impression. The room were BIG. Nice view, good bed, the cleaning lady, the inside and at the gate guards are very lovely. I spoke to the manger about the deposit issues mentioned on the reviews and she said its a problem with international cards, so I gave them cash which I received back on checkout (exactly the same notes I gave them). What I want to mention to their benefit as well. They have updated the pictures now, which reflects the correct room. I only can recommend the upgrade to the bigger apartment. Its worth the extra money. Overall. If they would have upgraded me based on their mistake it would have been a fantastic stay, The initial discussion and suggestion that I did a mistake by not reading the description even tho the pics showed the bigger room, was just a bad start for a great stay

A potential SCAM
I just wish I had paid more attention to what some of the other reviews said about Odyssey. It was a terrible stay for my family and I. There also seems to be a scam with the rooms. What you see in the pictures is NOT what you will get. Really, it was just a terrible experience through and through.

SA Hockey Training Camp
Accommodation was very central to all our hockey games. Room was spacious and tidy. So nice to have a bath AND shower. Security was very friendly and helpful.

Not recomended for female guests.
The experience was really bad and I would seldom if ever say this about any accommodation in Johannesburg. Apartments of this nature needs to have 24 hour access to skilled management. This was not the case. Noise by other guests is not managed appropriately and the security guard is your last line of defense when things go wrong. They are unapologetically unprofessional and not even close to expectations.

We have a 24 hour staff on duty and we have an emergency number listed in the directory .. We pride ourselves on tight security especially for women travellers .

the worst place ever never to go back
Bad security, worst service that anybody can have plus i was robbed at gun pointed right at the gate nobody did nothing to help because they took forever to open the gate (superior orders) so that allowed the thieves time to do their job, they took my phone, watch and some shopping bags i made that had shoes, sneakers, that was a inside job because i could track on my laptop and see where was my cell phone (iphone) and was inside property on the other side that i was staying and i even said and show that the police but nothing was done, funny thing they even ask me where that place was, yeah i'm the tourist, well i have check out and so far they didn't even return my security deposit it has past more than 15 days i already sent e-mails asking that but no even a word, yeah this was the worst place i ever been in my life besides being robbed thanks God i'm alive thats the only think i can see good in all this

Definitely recommended
Place is very clean and in a good area. Only bad experience was the 8 hour power cut on my first day as well as some people making too much noise at night and early in the morning.

not so good. i was working from the hotel when electricity went off the whole day even my first knight there was no electric. they have bad wifi connection

The place is very beautiful and i enjoyed my 1 night stay. The only thing which it didnt suit me well was the holding deposit because they said is for breakages but when u check in no 1 goes in with you to check if all items are there on ur arrival but they inspect when u check out.

Great place to stay
The check in was not brilliant as email confirming my booking was only received by Odyssey a few minutes before I arrived... So I had no room booked at the start.. The manager Debbie worked her magic and I got a room in the end. The Apartment was beautiful. Very clean, quiet and very modern.

Worst experience ever
My family’s stay was very very horrible, horrible customer service, power outbreak, lift(elevator) not working for days, only one air conditioning working. Please stay away from this property. They saw my complaints and didn’t care to answer. I have never seen such in a 4 star hotel . Owner of property needs a fresh management, if not this property will crash ..

Regarding the power outage, unfortunately this is out of our control, the lift also unfortunately was out of our control as it was out of order the second week into the festive season and no company had any stock of the motor we required. Check-in was awful, I had paid upfront but the lady could not find our booking. Eventually I saw my name on a printed page lying on her desk. The Hotel is very noisy, Friday Morning we were woken up to staff screaming and shouting to one another at 7am. Friday evening, when returning to the hotel we found the door open with the keys inside...the cleaners left it for anyone to help themselves! Then, when checking out the hotel has the cheek to check that we didn't steal anything (after leaving the room open for all and Sundry)!!!! The room was neat and clean and the location was good. I guess it is a cheap hotel so you get what you pay for.
