Cozy A-Frame Minutes to Whiteface

Welcome to our cozy A-frame which is nestled in a tranquil wooded area in the Ausable Acres Community. Enjoy the open living area with all the conveniences of home just minutes to Whiteface Mountain Ski Center. Walking distance to 10 miles of hiking trails for snowshoeing or Cross-Country skiing. A 5-minute walk brings you to the trail head for an easy walk around Lake Eaton with beautiful views. Walk or drive to the trail head to Clark Mountain which is a great half mile hike with great views of the Jay Mountain range and Whiteface Mountain. The playground and Tennis courts are within walking distance. Hike one of the High Peaks in Keene Valley. Enjoy a visit to Lake Placid home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics with its many shops and restaurants. Mountain biking trails and a public swimming area are close by in Wilmington. Or just relax on the deck and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There is so much to do at your fingertips. Come home after a busy day and enjoy a relaxing evening by the wood burning stove sure to warm your heart.

Great Cabin!

Ironman Lake Placid Stay
The location was perfect for us (two of us doing the Ironman) Away from the crowds and chaos of Lake Placid Located just off the bike course, so easy for us to go out for a ride along a portion of the course. Peaceful mornings listening to the birds and quiet evenings with no traffic, very calming. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of towels. A bit of a tight squeeze getting up the spiral stairs to the loft. A very enjoyable place to call home for a few days. Many thanks.

Girls hiking trip
We stayed at this property for a girls high peak hiking trip. The property is very clean and cozy. Our party of four was very comfortable. The cabin is nicely appointed with all the necessities! A delightfully cozy spot in the woods
Just outside Jay, this cozy little A-frame was immaculately and thoughtfully stocked. Immediately after we arrived, we were snowed in by a freak winter storm! Thankfully, we had everything we needed to weather it - snow shovel, a warm wood stove, coffee, snacks, and more. The host was wonderful and easy to work with, the place itself was clean and lovely, and the location was idyllic. A word of caution - the property's upper floor (and main bedroom) are accessible only via a narrow and difficult spiral staircase. Would not recommend for children or the physically infirm.

A frame cabin
This is a cozy little a-frame cabin in the woods, 15-20 min away from Whiteface skiing resort, reasonably priced, which makes it a great base camp for skiing enthusiasts. I enjoyed relaxing in the rocking chair in front of the wood burning stove after day of skiing. The narrow steep spiral staircase to access 2 rooms on the second floor makes it hard to carry personal belongings upstairs but it is the only solution to save space in this tiny house.

It is very nice and clean, it has everything needed to cook and feel at home. it is a quiet neighbourhood and the pond, sport and environmental surroundings are very good too. Everything is easy to use. furniture are beautiful and in very good condition. We liked the place.

Magic Christmas nights
Great remote location, perfect for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, located near North Pole, home of Santa’s Workshop. Conveniently located 10 miles away from Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort, is great for families with kids! They enjoyed the snow around the cabin. I only wish they had a fire ring. We’ll probably return for summer to explore the nearby hiking trails.

Perfect
We have travelled to the area for many years and have rented dozens of homes. This was one of the best rentals we have stayed in. The cleanliness was amazing. Even the hard to reach areas seemed to have been cleaned which is often overlooked with rental homes. The owners thoughtful touch is apparent. The stairs can be tricky for some but the bedroom downstairs offers a nice alternate choice. Warm and cozy with just enough wood to enjoy the wood stove if desired. The house offers the conveniences of home near enough to experience Lake Placid but at a reasonable price to bring a family. One more reading light to be used with the comfortable lazy boy chair is the only additional thing we would add to this home. It was the perfect getaway. Thank you!

This was such a beautiful home. It was so nice to start a fire in the wood stove and be toasty warm all weekend. Thank you for a wonderful place for us to have a sisters' weekend. I would recommend this rental for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

Clean, convenient, carefree...
This little gem is conveniently located for dining, groceries, and all sorts of outdoor activities. We spent the weekend on Jay and Whiteface, both about 15 minutes away. The place is sparkling clean and complete with items you may have forgotten (i.e., toiletries, condiments, snacks). Joyce was responsive and delightful. It was a wonderful weekend!

We rented the place to go hiking nearby and it could accomodate a group of 6 (two couples) easily. Quiet location with a BBQ which is nice in the summer. Only one bathroom is the main downside.

Truly a lovely property. We traveled to the area for a family wedding and could not be happier with our stay. Our children were ecstatic! The property was VERY clean, decorated nicely and the additional thoughtfulness of extra toiletries, etc were so appreciated. Perfect decor and setting for the Adirondacks
This A frame lodge is perfect for an Adirondack vacation. We were 5 adults, 2 parents with 2 young adult children and a young adult friend. The house sits among the tall trees, and is all wood inside and out and provides a charming rustic feel. It also has decor and furniture inside very fitting to the setting. It was very comfortable overall (with perhaps the one exception of the tight/narrow spiral staircase leading to the upstairs, although in our case we considered this minor). Kitchen and bathroom well appointed and equipped with supplies. Beds comfortable. Quiet and peaceful, but within driving distance to some good places to eat and a small supermarket. Loved the atmosphere/ambience inside and outside. It was difficult to get bags/luggage up the spiral staircase but we managed. A large suitcase would be quite challenging to get up. (We had carry on size bags). The staircase is very narrow and tight; we are all thin and fit and could get up and down, but a larger, big/tall or heavier person would probably struggle with the staircase. On the other hand, there is a double bed downstairs in the downstairs bedroom for a person(s) who might have trouble with the staircase. We would definitely stay there again! Many nice touches such as some snacks left out, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, teas in the kitchen. Every thing in good working order. Loved it! Such a cute lodge!
