16th Birthday Trip
I brought my oldest son here for his 16th birthday, along with his best friend, and his two younger brothers. We had an absolute blast staying here! The cabin was perfect for the five of us, we caught a bunch of fish in Lake Petit, and had a great dinner at Black Bear Pub. My only complaint is that I wish we would have booked for an additional day, because there is so much to do here! Thank you so much, and I plan to return again with my wife!

A comfortable and peaceful place
We were traveling from 8 hours plus away for a conference. Bee's knees was the perfect place to come unwind and rest after long, intensive days. There were amazing restaurants and shopping nearby, just outside this beautiful mountain resort community, plus trails, lake, golf, many outdoor opportunities. We want to return when we can stay longer and have time to explore all we saw!

Perfect Place
This property was perfect in every way! It is furnished beautifully. A decorator must have been involved because it is gorgeous. They have thought of every last little thing. I know reviews often say that, but in this case, it is absolutely true. This place was spotless and had been almost completely renovated. They had plenty of throw blankets, the mattresses and bed pillows were amazing, the kitchen was completely stocked. My mom and I stayed for two nights and visited Gibbs Gardens one entire day and Amicolola Falls the next day. Both are a short and easy drive from this cabin. Big Canoe, the resort where this cabin is located, is super nice! We had no idea. Very, very upscale and tasteful, with tons of amenities we did not even have time to take advantage of. This would be a great place for a family vacation as well as a girls or couple's get-away. We hope to be back!

Everything was absolutely perfect. Gorgeous furnishings, nice accents and beautifully. Set in the treetops! Unfortunately I was a little late, approximately 30 minutes late on my departure. The cleaning lady walked up to the window and frightened me. I opened the door and she explained that she was there to clean the place. I said we would be out shortly and she said they needed to get into clean the place because another group was checking in. I told her she needed to back off and I’d get out as soon as possible. We were out within 10 minutes. I believe 30 minutes past 11 AM. a half hour beyond. The cleaning ladies husband was very confrontational! Used cuss words, and was very verbally abusive. I would highly recommend having a conversation with them. Other than that everything was absolutely perfect and thank you for a beautiful little getaway.

Tasteful decor, gorgeous view, spacious
My husband and I were here first of November. A beautiful setting among trees in the peak of fall color. You can see glimpses of Lake Petit from the deck and from inside the spacious living room with floor to ceiling windows. This unit has a much larger kitchen & living area compared to the one bedroom Treetopper units in this area. The hosts were very responsive to questions and provided maps and information about Big Canoe via email attachment before we even arrived. That’s the first time this happened and we’ve even to Big Canoe resort several times. The second bedroom has two twin beds, which may not work for two couples sharing the unit but fine for a family. We rate this Treetopper and host 5 stars.

We stayed for our Anniversary and it was wonderful. The owners responded to us promptly. They were very nice and professional. The place was set up very cozy, and it was clean! We could not only see the mountains but also the lake from the living room and bedroom. We drove 4 hours from Columbia and will be visiting again soon.

Minor problem but overall very nice.
Enjoyed our stay, all was as we expected or better. I have to admit I did not know there was a short walk between parking and the cabin and that was a small problem, the weather was real nice when we were there but could have been a problem if raining a lot. It was probably mentioned somewhere in the info we had about the parking but somehow I missed it. Otherwise, everything was great

Big Canoe Octagon
This little place is beyond fabulous!!! We have been wanting to stay for a while and it was always booked!!! They thought of everything when putting this place together. Because it is a small place, they put a sectional in the family room which was perfect for all of us to gather and watch a movie. I loved everything about it with the exception of going down all the stairs with the luggage. Other than that, you are i a little oasis!!

The Bees Knees cabin was nice and clean. A lot of hiking trails to choose from. The only downside is all nearby restaurants are closed on Sunday and Monday some places are closed even on Tuesday. There was only one restaurant open on Sunday.Unless you want to drive 15+ miles your choices are extremely limited. Also some of the intersection through out the Big Canoe do not have the (visible) signs with the street names which makes the drive quite challenging especially if you’re visiting for the first time. Overall it is a nice place to stay.

Eight days in??!! Palmetto cockroaches!! Needless to say, by morning checked out?! We did not get all our monies back due to some going to rental company?? But should have?! We would had left in night, but on a mountain, very dark and roads very narrow?! No way trying that!! Will say the owner of place sis respond right away and stated that he has just stayed there week previous to us and no problems?! Said the cockroaches coming up from Florida because searching for water? Very dry in Florida?! Didn’t like losing money on something that I had NOTHING to do with and we had to figure out what to do next?!

Couldn’t have been better!
Fantastic stay at Bee’s Knees! The house is so well decorated; seems like each piece was carefully curated, with attention to detail. If the owners aren’t designers, they should be! The house is cozy and inviting, with plenty of room to be comfortable and have our own space. Kitchen was well-stocked, owners were responsive and friendly. The whirlpool was a highlight after a long hike! Also, can’t believe we hadn’t heard of Big Canoe (being from Atlanta), and maybe it’s a secret I should keep, but we’ll definitely tell others and be back ourselves… and hopefully get to stay at Bee’s Knees again!

A little piece of heaven

Perfect get away!
The Bees Knees is the perfect get away for a weekend of unplugging and unwinding. The place was clean and the beds were so comfy. The swings and hammock on the lower level were such a great addition. The owners were so accomodating when we had food delivered and an extra friend came in for the wine tour. They responded quickly and gave great recommendations for places to eat. We all loved everything about our experience. Perfect long weekend!

The Bees Knees was so cute and cozy. Perfect for a Mother’s Day weekend away with my mom and two sisters. The house had everything we needed and was so nicely decorated. It was as advertised. The only thing we wish we had researched Big Canoe in general before we went. It is a BIG place as the name suggests and we got turned around a lot just getting in and out of the area.

One of my favorite surprises was the sunrise. The sun was there shining through the beautiful trees.
We were on a complete R&R, and the Beesknees was perfect. The cottage was clean, and supplied with everything you need. The furnishings were comfortable, felt welcoming and a perfect place to relax uh. Looking out the windows every morning felt like we were in a treehouse.

Great treehouse-like cabin in a beautiful woodsy community
We loved the community of Big Canoe and the setting of this house near the top of the mountain in the woods. We visited at the end of March into early April so we had a nice view through the bare tree trunks (before the leaves were out on the trees) of two of the lakes and three of the mountains in the Big Canoe community. The owners had nicely furnished the cabin and provided very helpful maps and information about Big Canoe. We enjoyed hiking on several of the easier trails in Big Canoe by the creek, two of the smaller lakes, and a trail through the native peoples rock stacks (which had interpretive signs). We also drove down (12 minute drive) to the Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground, GA which is an outstanding garden that I highly recommend if you like gardens, and we enjoyed their seasonal displays which included (on March 31) seeing some of their 20 million daffodils, and also the beautiful plantings in the japanese garden and manor house garden.

We had a fabulous stay in this adorable cabin in the trees. Big Canoe is a beautiful location - we hiked several miles of trails and enjoyed the lake and waterfalls. Hikes ranged from easy to challenging - our 7 year old kept up well even on some of the harder trails. Rented a pontoon on the lake which was an enjoyable afternoon- lake was stocked with trout and husband caught a few. House was well supplied. Could use some updated pans but was sufficient for our needs. Only issue we ran into was the cabin beside us had the outdoor lights on very late and the bedrooms were both quite illuminated. Would have loved to have some blackout curtains in the bedrooms, Thanks for the great stay!

Wonderful stay in Big Canoe!
This cabin was perfect for our girls weekend. The cabin is so well decorated! We enjoyed many hours sitting outside on the deck. The couch was super comfy and the beds too! The only thing that was a bit tough is that the cabin has a pretty strong musky smell. I got used to it over the weekend, but being sensitive to that, I wish I had known that going in. I'm guessing the cabin is older, but it is newly decorated. We really enjoyed eating at the Black Bear Pub just down the street at the clubhouse. The Jeep Trail waterfall hike was so wonderful. It was a short drive to Amicalola Falls, which I highly recommend.

2 night stop over while driving back to CANADA from Florida
Amazing and beautiful area. Bees Knees is just as wonderful as the listing showed. Other then going for a few walks thru the woods and at the marina we were happy to sit on the deck or sit inside and enjoy the decor and the views. Unfortunately Home Restaurant is not open on Sunday or Monday and we weren’t up to driving any further so we picked up steaks at the nearby IGA and had a lovely dinner on the deck. My only suggestion to anyone is - Plan to arrive before dark or you may spend a long time driving around looking for the address. We were given a map at check in and a quick few directions but it turned out that wasn’t very helpful. Too bad she didn’t tell us directions were written on the back! It truly is a great place and we hope to return.

A magical place
We had such an amazing time that our children are eager to return! We were able to Cozy up next to the electric fireplace/heater and watch movies together and family. He also created Memories by going on one of the trails and walking to a waterfall and taking pictures. The cabin comes fully stocked with pots and pans and just about everything you can need, including coffee! We had an amazing time and didn't want to leave. We definitely plan to make a yearly trip to these cabins and make it a family tradition. You can't go wrong by booking a vacation at the bee's knees cabin.

Charming Mountain Cabin
