This was my first time staying in a hostel. It was very well set up. Easy to check in. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the facility. Our room was a bit noisy due to being beside the bathroom but they have rules to keep things quiet during night time hours. We just needed an area to sleep so we did not make use of the other parts of the facility but it looked very well maintained and the shared kitchen area looked very well organized. There was a comfortable variety of ages and everyone was very respectful and quiet.

Keep your key on your body!
I had a private room with shared bath. There was a sink in the room and 2 sturdy chairs. The window opens for fresh air but no screen so be sure to shut it before dusk! Midges! Check in staff was very nice. The kitchen/food storage area was plenty big enough. There's a beautiful walking trail in front that goes along the beach to the co-op for good grocery shopping. There are a lot of stairs. Front desk hours are limited. The room door locks automatically so keep your key on you!

Building was lovely, with a great view of the bay at the front of the building. Would not recommend room no.2 to anyone due to constant noise of bathroom next door. This made sleep impossible. Very dissapointing stay considering the over inflated price of accomodation.

We were very pleased with staff concern, shown when i slipped in shower cubicle and injured my knee. Steps to hostel steep to climb.and gravel on step made it more difficult. Michael.

Good short stay
Only stayed one night and arrived pretty late. Was easy to check in. Hostel was clean and comfortable with good shower facilities.

Jugendherberge mit dünnen Wänden und nicht komplett schliessenden Türen (1cm Spalt unten). Dadurch hört man jeden nächtlichen Gang.

The staff and rooms were fine and clean, but the bathrooms didn't seem very clean and the shower had a lot of hair in the drain.

Old-fashioned
The hostel is old-fashioned and the bathroom was run down. Guess it hasn't changes a lot in the last 40 years. In one of the showers it was impossible to get a bearable water temperature. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Instead of the advertisement breakfast could not be booked but the kitchen was well equipped. Price - performance isn't good

Good overall
This hostel looks a bit old but there are all necessasry facilities. There are some prolems with Wifi coverage in the building. However, it is worth the money.
