paradis sur terre
La chambre est très bien avec une vue mer de rêve. La piscine au bord de mer est super et le personnel est vraiment aux petits soins et très pro. Concernant les lieux c’est bien simple on est au paradis ! On recommande sans hésitation.

continuer votre route...
venant de Miami et allant à Key West, nous avons décidé de faire un stop pour une nuit à mi-chemin, à Islamorada. Mis a Port Antigua qui présente un intérêt (feeding Tarpan, lamentin, Pélican, act nautique,...) le reste peut être zappé, surtout l'hébergement et la fameuse chambre 18 en bord de route de l'hotel Drop Anchor Resort and Marina. Même si il y a une accès a la baignade coté "océan", cette partie ressemble plus à une pataugeoire dans un marécage. Amateur de vase....précipitez-vous! Pas de possibilité de petit dej, chambre (n°18) ultra bruyante et avec climatisation branchée impossible de dormir, mobilier anciens et poussiéreux et pour finir Aubergiste à peine sympa, heureusement que son employée russe relève le niveau !

Thank -you for staying with us . Perhaps pick a room closer to the sea away from roadside. The keys are a skinny Island chain unfortunately with Highway 1 that has road noise. Ocean front rooms price points are higher. Best Regards

hôtel exceptionnel
Super séjour! L'hôtel est charmant dans l'esprit des Keys (coloré, pittoresque). Malgré une situation proche de l'unique route des Keys, l'environnement est serein avec une magnifique vie sur la mer. L'hôtel a d'ailleurs mis à disposition des transats et hamacs avec des petites tables pour prendre un petit café ou un petit apéritif. Une piscine au bord de la mer participe également au bonheur des clients. La chambre, à l'ambiance cubaine est très bien équipée (cafetière, frigidaire, sèche-cheveux) et spacieuse. La literie est confortable. Nous avions vue sur la mer et une petite terrasse avec des chaises. Le numéro de notre chambre était le 15.Nous avons passé un moment extraordinaire!

Drop Anchor is a great place. Oceanfront but peaceful and the grounds are well kept. We like to walk everywhere and that was a bit hard to do and to no fault of Drop Anchor - just wish there was more dining/bars closer than a car ride. We will be back to stay.

Disappointed. Stated they have a beach access, and they have a sea wall around the property. Would not refund or cancel my reservation so we had to stay at the property. On Website for Drop Anchor it states a beach.

Hi Kimberly,I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed with Drop Anchor. 9 out of 10 oceanfront properties in Islamorada have a sea wall of some sort to protect the property from potential hurricane storm surge. Many of our guests swim in the ocean with a float or 'noodle', or they take advantage of our kayaks and paddle boards to get out on the water and/or visit the two sandbars directly from our beach. We hope you will be our guest in the future should you visit Islamorada again.

The property had amazing views. Having use of kayaks and bikes included was a plus. The downside was the furniture was very uncomfortable. The bed and sofa were very uncomfortable and the porch furniture uncomfortable and broken.

Super cute! It’s really more of a vacation rental than a hotel which I wish we would’ve realized before booking, but it was clean. The beds were not the most comfortable, and the sheets were polyester, but the price was right! Cute pool area. There is no swimming beach but you can take kayaks and paddle boards through the property - it’s super easy. The property itself is adorable, and very very well-maintained.

This is a nice old-style motel right off the main road in Isamorada. The property is nice, right on the water, but there is not a beach just a sea wall. Nice pool and views. There are also several good restaurants nearby. We were a bit disappointed in our room, we booked a queen ocean view. There was a queen bed and it did face the ocean, however, our room was very small….we’re talking a bed squeezed into alcove with about 6 inches on either side…..no other furniture except a chair. The bathroom was also RV sized. We managed to make it work since we didn’t spend much time in it but wasn’t easy getting ready for dinner, etc. we also did not get any maid service during our 5 day stay? Not sure if this is normal or you had to ask for it? We did see housekeeping personnel walking about so I know they had them. Overall, not a total bust but we wouldn’t return here.

Courteous staff. Old 1960’s kitschy resort simply updated in the rooms, very clean. It was super convenient to have the kitchen in the double queen suite. The hot water was quite lacking and should be updated. We had fun using the paddle boards and kayaks (no extra charge), though they are very beat up and in need of some maintenance. Pool area was super clean and the pool warm and pleasant. Not luxurious, but a good value. Thank you!

The grounds at Drop Anchor are immaculate! The beauty of the grounds and cleanliness of the rooms and common areas made this a 5-star stay. I really appreciated the ease of checking in late (we arrived at midnight-call ahead and they leave a key in a lockbox for you!) Super helpful friendly staff also made for a great stay. We walked to lunch and enjoyed biking on the quiet service road. I got the local paper and pool towels along with coffee in the lobby each AM.

Very comfortable and clean. A little dated and expensive for one night. Check in is not till 3 and you have to pay a resort fee, mandatory, to use bikes and kayaks, but you can only use them till 5.

I think the rate for room #18 should be a lot less than the rest of the units. Felt like I was staying in an alley until I walked around the motel to the other units. I understand that I was the last check in so I got it...but it should be less money than the others. Also...I like a hot shower in the morning. I ran the water for minutes and it only got luke warm.

I'm sorry to hear you did not like the location of your room but, we do have other room types thats right on the water with a nicer view. The room you booked was a resort view room, and they do not come with a view of the water. Furthermore, I'm sorry to hear you had issues with the heat water during your stay but, I had my maintenance team check out the water temperature in that room and they said it was ok. I'll continue monitoring the water temperature to see if there's an issue. Thank you again for staying with us, and if you're ever in Islamorada again, it would be our pleasure to host you :)

We had the absolute worst room. No view whatsoever. Just a fence. No water view. Asked if we could have another room and they said they were full but I did not think so. The maintenance man worked right outside our room for 2 days so we had no privacy to sit outside.

Thank you for your feedback Jayne. Like most properties in Islamorada, some of our units offer an ocean front view, and some do not. I took a look back at the dates you booked, and we were at no vacancy; so unfortunately, we were unable to move you to an ocean front suite. This is such a cute little hotel. The room was extremely clean, cute, decor, and right on the ocean with a beautiful view. Would return.
