Lovely stay
Lovely stay for two nights as had a wedding nearby, parking a bit of a nightmare, all staff are friendly and food was very good, room was lovely with comfy beds and a good tv.

Another Night Away
Parking in a council run car park pay by app. Free after 1800 but have to pay again at 0800 but on app it’s easy. Staff and host very friendly. Good food. Good beer. What more do you want.

The cleanest room & bathroom in Ilkley!
The Black Hat is a long-term favourite when I stay in Ilkley. For business users, it's great with breakfast served from 7:30am, including fully cooked options and lighter items like cereals. The rooms are immaculate. The two ladies that keep the place tidy should win an award for the cleanest toilets (and overall bathrooms and bedrooms) in Ilkley! It makes the stay so much nicer when it is totally spotless. You can really see the attention to detail in the cleaning and tidying. The pub itself has a good atmosphere, a mixed crowd with plenty of younger folks too, plus a great beer garden and sheltered / heated huts outside.

Very good but lack attention to detail.
Lovely stay but disappointed with lack of non dairy alternatives at breakfast, particularly as I let them know in advance. These days, these items should be stocked as standard. Attention to small details like these are very important.

Booked 2 nights at The Black Hat for a short break in Ilkley. Great choice! Good things. Staff were excellent especially Jack Rooms very clean & well equipped & presented Beds very comfortable Breakfast very good Great beer garden Very well located for town centre & walking. Bad things. None! would we book again? Definitely!

Super clean, super friendly, super comfortable.
The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is delicious! The entire areas of rooms and bathrooms are super clean, in fact I don't think I've stayed anywhere cleaner before! I asked for a bath and was upgraded to the room to grant my request, which was lovely. The beds are super comfortable and the bathrooms are modern, pristine, and have all you need.

Such a gem!
Our stay at the Black Hat was incredible! The staff were all so friendly, it felt like a home away from home! The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The pub downstairs is a lovely place for drinks and some food, showing the major sporting events. The Ashes were on and a bit hit! Couldn’t recommend more!

Good solid stay
Old classic British Inn, comfortable bed and traditional interior decor. Big bed big room and good pub breakfast. A little bit tight for a couple but that seems to be for inns. Big public parking behind the building 1 pound total from 6pm-8am and 1 pound per hour thereafter.

A little gem in the countryside
I recently visited Ilkley and needed a place to stay. The Black Hat was recommended to me by a local. I was very impressed. All of the staff are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. They made me feel right at home. The pub hotel has 7 rooms. Mine was absolutely beautiful. Clean and cozy with everything you need. They have clearly given thought to the layout and amenities. I travel a lot and this place is at least on par with many 4 or 5 star hotels I stayed at around the world for work. Breakfast was included in the price. It is a typical English pub breakfast, which is not really my thing (but that’s a personal preference). They offer some cereal and porridge options as well. Naturally, being a small hotel, it would not make sense for them to set up a whole buffet. If you like English breakfast, you will love this aspect as well. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return.

Lovely stay
We had a wonderful stay at The Black Hat, all staff were so friendly and helpful and the location was perfect right in the heart of town. The room was very clean and comfortable with nice toiletries and teas/coffees and the breakfast was lovely as were the meals in bar. Hope to stay there again.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel in a great position. Room was ideal. Very comfy. Nice bath. Welcome was warm. Breakfast was very tasty. Only negative was the service at breakfast. Pretty much ignored by the only staff member around who was cleaning. Had to sort out where we sat and own hot drinks. No one to take hot food order until i went for a wander. Food was lovely. Would have liked some toast to finish but decided it was not worth the hassle. Maybe just an off shift as welcome was warm and everything else was great. Loved the rooms named after cricketers

Overall would recommend. Lovely place, great room and very clean. Also good location in city centre. The pub didn’t have many ingredients and the staff struggled to replace them. I also received a call the day before my stay asking if I was checking in. Then I received a call on the day asking if I was checking in when I was already in the room. Breakfast was good but very relaxed and the servers didn’t take the orders correctly
