« This was the middle hotel on our 75 km Shimanami bike ride and we arrived very hot and tired. The room was not ready for us, but the staff happily took our bags so we could enjoy the town while the room was being prepared. Once we arrived in it, the room was a beautiful newly constructed all wood artsy dream place. « This was our (family of four age 9 and 11 kids) first Ryokan experience. It was incredible. We loved the authentic Japanese feel. It was an adventure getting there on a boat and we rented bikes next door for a beautiful all day ride. It’s a great spot to ride from in the middle of the Kaido. If you want a traditional, relaxing stay—book this! We hope to return. (We did 2 rooms with 2 people each because the bedrooms are smallish.) »

« As much as I'd like to recommend staying here on your trip to bunny island, I cannot. The host did provide details for self check-in, but the property is in various states of disrepair. The AC is left off during the summer, so when we entered, it was hot and humid. The bathroom was left off as well and had accumulated mold. It smelled atrocious to the point we were pretty sure it would be a hazard to use it. I don't expect to incur any penalties, but the host also had many fee addendums...
