Enjoy slow mornings, peaceful days, and star-gazing nights in the comfort of our 4-season Wildland "Be Well" Yurt. Designed to stay cool in the summer, and equipped with a powerful heating system to keep you warm throughout winter, we invite you to come back each season for a unique experience.
The Be Well Yurt is part of the Wildland family of retreat spaces. Situated in a private location surrounded by towering pines, the yurt faces the creek - offering beautiful views and maximum privacy. The Wildland Tree House sits on the same property, several yards away (home to your hosts + an additional private guest space). Both the Yurt and the additional guest space have exclusive access to their own designated outdoor areas, along with access to some common/shared spaces throughout the property. You are welcome to book both spaces for groups of up to 6 - please look for our other listing by searching for "Wildland Retreat Space" or messaging us for a link.
A dedicated full bathroom and mudroom for the yurt, with a private entrance, are located on the west side of the Wildland Tree House. Please note - the "mudroom" is a private space we've created for your convenience to remove any muddy shoes/clothes etc, before entering the sanctuary of your full tub/shower bathroom. The walk from your yurt to the private bathroom is less than 30 steps along a solar-lit path. Enjoy an elevated bath experience with mindful, minimalist bath and body offerings courtesy of our local apothecary, Wildland Organics.
We have a deep commitment to eco-friendly, non-toxic, vegan, & upcycled materials - which you will find throughout the space. We use only non-toxic, natural cleaning supplies (plus bleach & organic alcohol throughout Covid pandemic) - 100% cotton sheets, and natural materials throughout the yurt - including a cozy âBuffyâ duvet made from recycled plastic bottles.
Directions to hiking trails plus recommended sightseeing, shopping and restaurants can be found on our @wildlandorganics IG story highlights titled "Visit Idyllwild". Special guest-only discounts will be offered at the WILDLAND shop in town throughout the duration of your stay.
With all its comforts, the Yurt is a GLAMPING experience - as in, glamorous camping. The camping aspect includes no air conditioning (but yes, a fan + big windows for cross breeze) and occasional bugs that might find their way into your glorified âtentâ. Please come with the mindset that this will be a unique nature immersion experience, coupled with the cushiest of comforts.
A beautiful marriage of both nature and luxury - the Wildland "Be Well" Yurt is an Idyllwild experience you won't soon forget.
PET RULES:
1. Up to 2 animals allowed
3. Must be POTTY TRAINED - you will be charged in addition to your pet fee for any pet accidents.
4. FRIENDLY, WELL-SOCIALIZED dogs only.
5. Dog must be ON LEASH WHEN OUTSIDE, AT ALL TIMES. Breaking this rule will result in you being asked to leave the property.
6. Pets CANNOT be left unattended - EVER. Pet must GO WITH YOU everywhere you go, including meals out (this is a pet-friendly town, call the restaurant ahead of time to ask for a pet friendly table).
7. Pay the $100 pet fee - this happens automatically if your pet is included in the reservation. If you did not include your pet, then you will need to text 917-566-4287 with your FULL NAME, name of the CABIN, and your EMAIL ON FILE. We will send you a manual invoice for the pet fee.
Guest Access:
There are both private/exclusive and communal outdoor areas. These designated areas will be shown to you in your welcome video upon booking. Please watch the welcome video before your arrival, all your questions will be answered. Thank you!
The Neighborhood:
Located on Strawberry Creek, this land offers the soothing sounds only a seasonal creek can provide. Usually running September through May, and sometimes all year, please message to confirm - as the creek changes from season to season. Colorful foliage and apple trees ripe for the picking can be enjoyed in the fall. Come springtime, enjoy frogs croaking and the sweet scent of lilacs in the air as they bloom. Walking distance to town (20 minutes), and a short 10 minute walk to popular coffee shop Alpaca Coffee & Tea, as well as brunch & dinner spot Mile High Cafe. 2 minute drive to Idyllwild Arts Academy.
Getting Around:
You will need a car to properly enjoy Idyllwild, though you won't need it all the time. Hiking trails, restaurants, and the town square are all accessible within a 20 minute walking distance. Everything in Idyllwild is accessible within 5-10 minutes by car. 1 parking spot available for the guest space - please park where indicated to keep space clear for UPS deliveries, thank you!
Interaction with Guests:
We give our guests space but are available when needed. We are available to communicate for any questions or concerns from 8 am to 10 pm - please text 917-566-4287 for the quickest reply, as well as messaging on the app so one of our team members may be of assistance. For a medical emergency or fire please call 911.
We live down the street - so we are always available for anything you may need. Our cleaning team is often on the property to use the laundry building, and our maintenance team is there weekly to keep things looking fresh. A full-time tenant currently lives on the property and acts as our eyes and ears, making sure the Wildland Wellness Lodge fulfills our promise to provide a peaceful and restorative atmosphere for our guests.
