« The inn is next to the river ouse in a beautiful area and, by car, is 5 minutes from St. Ives, a very interesting town to visit. To visit Cambridge you can go via various little villages through the countryside avoiding the very crowded A14 - about 40 mins. The room we had was quite small though comfortable with all the usual services. I would recommend asking for a large room on the side away from the kitchen to avoid the noise of the kitchen fan. « Lovely, spacious room, with great A/C, which was well needed during a recent hour spell! The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. And breakfast was great! »

« We had a lovely stay at The Chalk Hare (end of June 2026). The staff were so friendly and the food great. The rooms were really lovely as were the amenities. The place is being upgraded shortly after a recent change of ownership which will no doubt just give it that extra star as some of the communal areas (like stair/hall carpets) were looking a bit tired. So should be looking fabulous very soon ! »

« Disappointing. On arrival to the room, there was a distinct musty smell. Not pleasant and still present after opening the windows. No WiFi in the room. Breakfast was almost non existent. For a pub/hotel that promotes its food service and quality, a couple of boxes of cereal and a few miniature pastries was not what was expected or advised. « Large bedroom full of Light with in a little cottage type. Shame there is no direct door from bedroom to bathroom. Nice restaurant and breakfast. Nice outdoor settings »
