Might work for a short stay
There were 2 things I liked about this property: 1) The view was stunning, 2) The bed was good. The description of this room was not correct. It says it includes a 2 burner cook-top. It was a 1-burner and very tricky to operate. You could either burn your food or undercook it--no in-between. It did say "some kitchen prep tools." Emphasis should be on "some" since there was no can opener, no sharp knife, and no egg turner. We requested those things and were given this canned reply: Unlike a hotel, we do not provide refills for consumables such as TP, garbage bags, shampoo and other toiletries etc-- we start off all guests with the same amount of toiletries no matter how long your stay. If needed, please feel free to visit your nearby ABC store or local grocery for these items. If you plan to stay for a few days, this works. We stayed 3 weeks and it was a challenge. We ate out much more than we planned because of this. The electricity went out one evening shortly after arriving so I called the "24-hour answering" to request assistance. I received no reply. We had no electricity for one whole night. The next morning I went to the front desk and the clerk had someone from the hotel come up and solve the problem. I finally texted the property manager and let him know it was taken care of--he hadn't replied to me yet. We did not receive that "aloha" hospitality that we have been so used to when going to Hawaii. We will not stay here again for sure.

The property is a bit run down. It’s not exactly like the pictures, but close. It was clean on the surface, but needs a really deep clean. The bed was clean. The sofa had stains. Overall, not bad. Communication with the manager was great and super easy check in.

This was an inexpensive stay
The location was good as yhe walking distance to the Waikiki beach area was only a couple of blocks. There were many restaurants and food trucks in the area as well. Parking, when available for guests was $40 a day but we were required to move the car by noon and re-apply for the pass at 4:00 pm. There was some free parking along the canal street but you need to move your car by 8:30 to avoid a ticket. These spots fill up fast. The room was a very basic studio with only a hot plate and a microwave. I would not suggest this rental if you plan to cook. The bed was comfortable. This is not a fancy place but not bad for the price.

It was super tiny which was ok because all we did was sleep there but its really tiny. The sofa bed was horrible. The mattress was so thin my daughter couldn't sleep on it for feeling all the bars on the frame. She ended up just sleeping on the couch part but the cushions were pretty stained. Ot was clean. The parking situation is ridiculous. You pay 40.00 or hike for who knows how far to find a pretty non existant space on the street. I emailed the owners once and never heard back. This place served our needsfor 2 nights and the price was nice but I wouldn't stay here again.

Meek was very thoughtful and communicated well. He provided us with all the information we needed. The check in and check out process was so easy! The apartment is really comfortable. The kitchen contains everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom and terrace are clean and light. The location was incredible.

Parking has to be bought in person each day. You have to leave whatever you're doing to be back at the right time or you don't get to park. The room is rundown and looks nothing like the pics. It's a hole in the wall.

Not what I was expecting
If you don’t look closely at anything in the room, you might have a good time. It seemed like the host hadn’t been there to clean in a while. There was tomato sauce on the walls probably from the last people who stayed there. The curtains were dirty and ripped, along with holes in the walls that had been very poorly covered with clay it looked like? Overall, very dated and not the cleanest room we’ve ever stayed in. Won’t be booking again.

Smaller space but hotel, cozy feel
It was smaller than expected and didn't have as many resources as I thought there would be (ex. coffee maker and filters, but no coffee lol). But the over all process was easy and convenient. There were some chairs and water boards to use at the beach, which was a thoughtful touch. The place was clean. I thought it was going to be homey-feeling but it was a hotel feel. Which is not a bad thing.. just was expecting something else. I would stay here again with my previous experience.

A cute little place in a great location - parking can be difficult though
We were only here for 2 nts. On check in day, the hot water was turned off to the building that AM but was turned on by the time we got in. The room is basically an eff apt in a hotel; if you go to the front desk the only thing they do is getting a parking pass - and you can only get for $35/day at 4 PM. There are public garages 2+ blocks away but with all of our driving + as much luggage as we had + we had to leave at 0430 to get to the airport it didn't make sense. Spaces are very limited; there is limited overflow parking. The elevators are small & the doors close fast. The place to fill up your water bottle in the lobby was a nice touch. There is no restaurant or anything on property; the best place to go for snacks to fill up for in between meals is the ABC Mart down the street. There is a small - medium sized refrigerator that was more than large enough for several drinks and snacks. The view can't be beat - when looking out over Ala Moana you have a beautiful view of the public golf course. The room, even with the air conditioner on 60, didn't seem to get very cool - and that's with the fan going. Temps averaged about 80 during the day and you're on the 15th floor. During the summer this could be very uncomfortable. There is a very small area to cook so if you wanted to save money you have to get creative but it can be done. The one thing I have to say is that the couch is supremely uncomfortable to sit on; the cushions sink and you can't sit for long without the pillows losing shape. It could definitely use being replaced with a futon so that sleeping space could still be used for a small family or no more than 3-4 adults total. There is a tiny bathroom with a toilet and a tub/shower combo. Water pressure and temp was inconsistent, even with the water getting reheated. The sink space is non-existent and there is a space where you can put luggage in a closet, but not much of a space. The bed was very, very comfortable and the linens were soft. The place was very clean and the beach towels were a nice touch even though we didn't go to the beach in the limited time we were there. There was a tiny pool onsite but did not use. Wifi strength was good as was cell signal. Overall, for a relatively last minute booking for us, and for something that was for sleeping only, it was perfect. Communication was top notch. Would definitely book again on our next stay. No daily linen service - keep that in mind.

Aloha Surf Property is pretty good!
This is a owner rented studio condo at a resort. Not super fancy, perfect for two travelers. Nice view, excellent breeze, good location to walk 3 minutes to most of Waikiki. The staff at the resort was helpful and very local down to earth. This is not the Sheraton. Tuesday night free cocktails be and music in lobby are sweet and appreciated. They were poured stiff! The building had some electrical issues which were solved, and we were not too offended by the lower level of cleanliness and perfection. The actual condo is quite clean and efficient and the manager is responsive.
