More than adequate for our overnight stay. Loved the nautical theme. Self check in was straight forward. Complimentary breakfast was more than expected along with coffee/tea facilities in the room. Definitely recommend. Would have liked a room with a sea view but it was only a short walk to see the sun set.
The Hut Sea Front Inn has a very convenient location. It is close to the Ferry Terminal and a short walk to Newry Beach as well as the Maritime Museum. There are also a number of good restaurants nearby. The Rueben makes a fabulous Reuben bagel & very good coffee. If you do take-out the Sea Hut has a common lounge area, complete with dishware, that opens at 6 pm. The common lounge is very nicely set up as a relaxing place where people can eat or sit & read. There are plenty of books to choose from.
Right next door is a lovely pub, where we enjoyed a pint. Sadly, we had just missed the live music.
Our twin bed room was cozy, like a berth on a boat. The bathroom was narrow. The shower was great, plenty of water pressure.
fantastic and charming place! Be prepared to walk up the steps on the inside but it's very delightful once you're in. The bed is super comfy and the shower was brilliant and the view is amazing. East walk to the station, ferry port, and coastal walk. Lots of interesting books to read. If you make sure the windows are totally shut the road noise will be less noticeable. Delightful spot and felt very historical with real pride of ownership. Thank you, Jason and Howard!!
Clean, conveniently situated but totally impractical for us. If your fit, go for it, but if mobility is an issue then steer clear. No one on site to help with anything was also an issue for us.
I loved my stay at The Hut. The room was small but efficient and had everything needed. I had great sleep in the comfortable bed and appreciated the coffee and snacks provided. Everything you need is close by and within walking distance - food, train station , town centre. Owners provided good instructions to access property and room and were very responsive when I had a question.
Very cute property. However, the photo I saw of the room didnât show that the bathroom comes out into the bedroom and takes up a lot of space. The bathroom was also smaller and lower than expected. My partner is 6â3 and knocked his head. Not to the fault of the property but it didnât work for what we needed. Better suited for individuals not couples.
Easy access to check in. Clear directions.
Owners and staff are very courteous, professional, thoughtful, and accommodating. Property is cute and idyllic. We really liked that they have a lounge with some refreshments open to customers for part of the day and night, because there isnât much that is open in Holyhead after 5 or 6 pm other than some takeout restaurants and a small bar or 2. Weâd definitely return.
The room was small but that was expected and was adequate for my stay. Check in was easy as they sent directions and you retrieved your keys from a lock box. The house keepers were sweet and while they donât provide breakfast they have an area to eat where you can have drinks and relax. My two nights in Holyhead were just for some rest and relaxation before finishing up in Dublin and heading home. The location was easy to walk to from the port. There are restaurants and grocery stores near by and a few things were within walking distance like the cinema, the beach and the maritime museum.
