Enjoy a family-friendly holiday on the Devon/Cornwall border, in this unique and charming old barn and piggery dating back to the 17th Century, which has been sympathetically designed into three wonderful self contained cottages with the option of adding a hot tub; additional fees apply. Oak Cottage is self contained and set at the entrance of almost 12 acres of gardens, woodland trails and animals leading down to the River Tamar.

You will just love Oak Cottage's quaint character and ample sized three bedrooms comprising of one double room, one single room and a bunk bed room (sleeping 5 in total).
In the bedrooms you will find fresh white linen and soft fluffy towels (extra towels and large bath sheets are available to hire). There is also space for a travel cot in any of the rooms.
Oak Cottage has an open plan living area with the lounge/diner and kitchen separated by a kitchen counter making this a great space for family and friends to hang out and whip up some great meals together. You will find everything you need in the kitchen with the essentials including fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave.
Located in the lounge is a wall mounted smart TV and DVD player with a real log burner for cosying up on colder nights. We supply you with a basket of logs in your cottage and can help you get started, if you want us to. We also offer plenty of blankets to keep you warm in the colder months and a selection of games, books and puzzles. You'll find a well stocked kitchen for all your requirements whereby you'll be able to whip up even the most impressive meals.
In the skylight bathroom, you will find a full sized bath together with a rainfall shower overhead. We also offer Faith in Nature body wash and Cole and Lewis shampoo and conditioner.

Oak Cottage features a private and secure area, ideal for safely keeping little ones and furry friends until you're ready to explore! Here, you'll discover your very own BBQ, picnic bench, and hot tub. On clear evenings, why not indulge in some stargazing? With minimal light pollution, you can immerse yourself in the soothing bubbles of the hot tub while the steam melts away your stress, creating a truly magical experience!
The Cottage is just a few steps away to the entrance of our nearly 12-acre smallholding, which is a haven for small and big adventurers alike! Encourage your young ones to don their wellies as they discover the wonders of a vast pond teeming with wildlife, explore the meandering river, and make friends with our delightful farm animals, always eager to say hello! đ· đ
Children's play area and Recreation Areas
At the bottom of the courtyard leads to our area of tranquillity and the pretty gardens with an array of colour during the seasons. This area includes an apple orchard, children's play area, sheep and lamb paddocks, pig pens and undercover seating area for relaxation and enjoyment. Come and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the birds play or a cup of tea while the chickens munch through their breakfast! This is also the place where you will find the wood fired oven, perfect for whipping up some pizza's. We make & sell dough, if you are interested in giving pizza making a go, please let us know when you arrive.
There are a number of spots around where we encourage you to enjoy a BBQ (if you are unsure, just ask, we are always happy to help!) or, if you wish to be closer to your cottage, you can BBQ right outside! (Don't worry if you forgot your coal, you can purchase coal from us, please enquire for further information).
You are welcome to stroll through the orchard down towards the River Tamar where our guests have access to over 400 yards of fishing đŁ . The idyllic river setting with peace and quiet allows some good fishing, fish include Trout, Roach, Grayling and in late autumn Salmon returning to spawn. If you have the patience and the time is right, you can see Red and Roe deer đŠ, birds of prey đŠ
soaring in the thermals, kingfishers sweeping and darting along the river, and majestic otters playing.
Spend a day with a picnic to enjoy by the river. Along with a picnic table, a tempting homemade river swing for the brave and daring, and hammock, kids can safely explore the water when it's low. Let them discover treasures, create rope swings, and even try their hand at crafting rafts by foraging for leftover wood - your adventure awaits! đ€ Beware, though â once the sheep đ catch a whiff of your snacks, you may find unexpected lunch guests joining your riverside rendezvous! đ€
Our woodland trail is also great for explorers of all ages, just don't forget your welly boots! đ„Ÿ
If you just fancy a well deserved break, imagine yourself unwinding by the riverbank, immersed in the pages of a captivating book đâ a perfect moment of relaxation awaits.
Water fun! đŠ
During your stay you will also have access to a shared heated pool (5 meters long, 1.1 meters deep) The pool is situated on a deck overlooking the gardens where youâll also find a table and chairs, if you want to take a break from all the splashing! (The pool is seasonal and opens from April - October; weather dependant). We hire the pool by the hour & a quarter at a rate of ÂŁ15ph. When it is booked, it is for your cottage's private use.
