Stayed in one of the junior bungalows with the stone clad internal walls and marble floor. It was a good size and comfortable.
Breakfast was a simple affair, omelette, cakes , bread . Coffee variable . Normally breakfast served in outside but covered area but on one particularly wet morning it was served in the upstairs restaurant which looked like it could have done with a good clean .
Staff friendly and proactive
Good location a few kms out of town . Nice cycling routes nearby
The property is in a Beautiful and very serene setting. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was OK. Unfortunately, dinner food was a total disappointment. We enjoyed the stay overall, but avoided eating dinner there again.
The surroundings weee beautiful however for the price the level of service was unacceptable. The room was great but the restaurant was bad and breakfast only passable. Even though the hotel was fully booked the resort was always empty with an eerie atmosphere. We would not stay here again.
This hotel is ideal in the good weather. Unfortunately we arrived just as the weather changed and due to the nature of the buildings it was too cold despite having a heater in our room.
The bathroom is very modern and clean.
The staff are very friendly and helpful
The location is idyllic- away from town in the middle of rice fields
Beautiful hotel. 3kms out of tam coc town so nice and secluded. The bungalows are really neat and the gardens and surrounding area was stunning. Friendly staff helped arrange drivers and tell us what's in the area etc. Free bicycles available.
Nice and basic villas with good bathroom and hot water. Breakfast was included and you could order items from the menu. This place is in the middle of a rice field so you will come across crawlies but staff were always on hand to put them outside.
Owner claims Expedia didn't send the booking information even though we had communicated with the resort since April about 3 of us staying. Owner didn't care that we had traveled across the world and the country to have the experience of staying there and was more worried about money, especially US dollars. He was even willing to short Expedia in order for him to make more by trying to rebook us into a shared room for a higher rate than Expedia even though it was not our fault the booking was mixed up. It was late at night when we had to find alternative accommodation and my friend was in tears as she was sick and he was more concerned with ensuring he broke even or higher.
In a country where people want to be hospitable and where you can make a difference at a home stay or at a local hotel I would highly recommend distributing the wealth to them and not a very greedy, capitalistic and commercialized place. It isn't a sincere and magical place like the pictures show. It was apparent pretty quickly what this resort's main concern is and it isn't your genuine experience or well being. Stay at a place with heart and make a difference.
It was a cute, clean, new, and nice place to stay with an amazing view! It is a little secluded from but we can rent a motor bike and it's not far from the town and you can enjoy the drive of an amazing area! It definitely had the best view around that area. Waking up to the great country side was just amazing! I would definitely recommend this place for a few nights!
The staff were great, but the location is too hidden away, and large buses will have difficulty to get in. Maybe adding some air-con equipment will be good.
I'll start by saying that the service here was really top notch!!! Twice they brought us fresh cold fruit water once lime water and the other time I think mango water. Plus they give you a nice cold bottle of water when you check in and when you check out. We only stayed one night here as a stop over between Hanoi and a three day tour of Ninh Binh and some national parks in the area. It was nice and quiet and you could actually fish in the little pond that's in the center of the garden. It's catch and release, but a fun way to spend a little bit of time in the afternoon. The wifi here was pretty good as well. And the restaurant had really tasty fried spring rolls!! The staff we're grea to, very friendly and attentive. So the only things that I would say strict from this place are the very hard beds and the fact that on the afternoon it is just SO hot inside the room!!! But luckily at night it did cool down enough to sleep comfortably (temperature wise anyways). This place was very charming and peaceful. I would stay here again, because it m sure that most of the other low priced hotels in town do not offer a more comfy mattress nor half of the ambiance of this hotel.
Tam Coc Rice Fields resort is fairly new and everything is in good condition. Because they are only made of bamboo, you can hear everything going on outside. The first night we were woken at 4am by some guests leaving, the taxi was hooting and people were shouting and then the roosters started crowing. The rooms were clean and tidy, the fridge did not work in our second room (we moved to be further away from the main entrance). The mattress was very hard and the springs dug into my ribs. Breakfast was poor, but overall the other food we ordered was good. The resort is too far away from the town to eat out at night. We rented their bikes ($6) for two and enjoyed riding them, they were in reasonable condition. It is close to the Bird Park and we very much enjoyed our visit there (we rode the bikes to get there).
It was cold while we were there, but the portable heater helped. The mosquito canopy over the bed was very useful, we woke up in the morning to many mosquitoes caught in the net.
