Thank you for your feedback! We've recently renovated all our linens and older furniture items in our villas. Not sure what is meant by the bathrooms and floors as these are one of our biggest attractions with our thematic mosaic work. Could you be more specific?

I am sorry you did not enjoy Santa Catalina. Most of us who live here enjoy it because it is a village, not overrun with tourists, very peaceful and tranquil.
You are correct in saying there are no luxury places to stay. If you want Club Med this is not the place for you. Our restaurant staff is present from 6:30-2:00 six days a week. I am sorry you felt our property was overrated. The rooms are sometimes humid until the air conditioning has been on for a bit. Our rooms are well cleaned and do not smell. We also have a full time gardener but at this time of year it is hard to keep up with all the leaves falling. Perhaps you have not experienced a tropical country before?

I'm sorry but my staff was present during your visit. The restaurant is open from 6:30-2:00 every day except Tuesdays. You were here Wednesday and Thursday. I (the owner ) was here both of those days and my employees (4 people!) were all present. My maid says she cleaned your room- you say she did not. Because of this we gave you a discount on your room price. My managers were also present both of the days you were here and at your check in and check out.

Hello- I"m sorry you felt things were old and broken. If you could be more specific as to whether you were staying at LBV or at Boarder's Haven- the hostel we manage- and what specifically was broken? We try very hard to keep things in working order and have recently redone all the rooms at LBV.

We appreciate the feedback. Some of the claims made by this guest however, are either false or unfair. We do in fact carry out housekeeping everyday. If there are specific housekeeping needs that are required for any particular guest, we are happy to accommodate if these are voiced in reception. We don't change sheets daily if guests are staying for a short time. This is a regular energy and water conservation practice in our town. Maybe this is what he is referring to. In regards to check-in, we can understand. It is common for our shift managers to step out of reception for minutes at a time, considering they have other responsibilities to attend to. As is stated, after only 5 minutes, our manager was back, during which time this guest had grown increasingly impatient and behaved in a rude manner. Regarding check-out, this guest never let us know he was planning on leaving before our reception hours. In these cases it is common practice to settle any pending tabs the day prior, and simply leave the key on the door upon departure.

Thanks so much for the positive review. As you say, La Buena Vida offers more comfortable, private villas and also manages the Boarder's Haven Guesthouse next door which is private air-conditioned rooms with shared bathrooms and living space. Both serve different guest's specific needs. We have since seperated the two properties on expedia and are sorry if there was any confusion.
