I absolutely LOVED my stay at The Crown. I was in town to do some ancestry research while on my way to North Yorkshire. I traveled from Texas to London, then took the train to nearby Arlesey. The GM Alex and his team were so very kind to me as I was tired, but excited to be staying at their property. The room was lovely, and came with all the items a traveler could need. Even a flat iron in the room! I also awoke very early, so having the tea and coffee in the room was the best. And, the room fee comes with a full breakfast from 8am to 10am the next morning! You can't beat that! I traveled alone, as a woman and felt completely safe. The soap and shampoo items were also very nice. I was just so impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff. I would so recommend staying here and if I'm able to travel back, I will definitely come again! Thank you so much to the team at The Crown!

Excellent room and facilities. Fresh milk daily , water tea and coffee excellent service. Bathroom cleaned and fresh towels daily. Restaurant had a good atmosphere and food very good. Excellent choice of breakfast . Would highly recommend .

What a fantastic stay even though it was just one night!! The bed was very comfortable, the room n bathroom was very clean but the only thing I will say is that the chair could use some tlc and the rug under the bed needs to be professionally cleaned to remove stains. The coffee in the room was delicious but not having an espresso machine, I wasn’t quite sure how to use it. The radiator in the bathroom needs some attention. I had forgotten my charger plug n they very kindly gave me one to borrow. Would certainly recommend it n looking forward to staying again in June and having the amazing quality breakfast. 5*

Noisy, bad food, broken fridge
I ordered food from hotel - the duck was not edible as overcooked - I was told it comes in pre-cooked so nothing could be done. We were given packed breakfast which went in the fridge in the room which turned out heated the contents so not only was the milk solid all the yoghurt, sandwiches and our entire picnic for next day event was ruined over night. Very noisy as previous reviews warned as you hear everything from pub terrace.

Fabulous and Friendly
Absolutely amazing stay. Could not do enough for us and the food was outstanding. The room had everything from coffee machine to hair straightener. Comfortable and spotless (yes I even looked under the bed!) if you need to go for a stay or food you can’t go wrong.

Well appointed. Late evening noise.
A fine: good tea./coffee making in the room. Good food and drink. But noisy in evenings until after 11pm (from the garden/patio - just 3 metres away from the room). It would be useful to have a curtain over the door. Asked for an iron. Not delivered.

Lovely place to stay
I loved it. Staff were lovely and understanding. The packed continental breakfast is good quality, tasty and you get quite a variety of items. The bed is very comfy.

Nice room
Room was lovely with lots of nice little touches in it. The downside was it was very hot in the room, even though we had a fan, but because you are overlooked by the beer garden, you cannot really leave your windows open or curtains as you are being looked at all the time. I would stay here again.

Highly recommended
I would completely recommend room 1 at The Crown for a short stay. Our large room was clean and well equipped with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space, and tea and coffee making facilities. The en suite wet room was very spacious and very warm due to under floor heating. The towels supplied were clean and soft; the bath sheets were very large. Good quality toiletries were supplied. In order to improve the room, I would recommend installation of a blackout blind behind the pretty curtains as the security lights in the courtyard are bright. Also, I suggest a polite reminder for those drinkers using the courtyard area to keep their noise down after 11pm.

Stayed New Years Eve after long flight from Thailand. Party going on at pub, but rooms so well insulated we slept really well. Didn't hear the fireworks!! Breakfast excellent and staff very helpful and friendly.

The room was excellent, and everything was how I wanted it to be (see boring stuff below). The bed was very comfortable, bordering on luxurious maybe. Only a little occasional noise. All in all I slept really well. I was only there one night, checked in late, checked out early, so I only got a glimpse of the dining room, but as I passed by in the morning and peeked in, I really wish I'd had time for breakfast, it looked really good. So, as for the room, there was just nothing to complain about, and I am good at whinging. The fridge next to the bed was silent (and contained complimentary water). The TV worked without fuss. There were sockets next to the bed so I could charge my phone (and watch) without leaving them on the other side of the room. And so on. Very well designed and charming and comfortable

Beautiful room.
I loved this room. The decor was very interesting. Hairdryer and tongues kept in a basket hung on the wall. Tea and a coffee machine with milk and water kept in a small fridge. Bathroom was clean and the overhead shower powerful. There was a hand shower and overhead shower. The shower gel etc. were lovely. Better than most 4star hotels, towels were big and thick, really luxurious. I have to mention the manager who was very helpful and had to come back to help me manage the coffee machine. All done with a smile and good humour. Breakfast was ok but the food we had the day before was poor. We had a very hard cheese and ham toastie accompanied by a very strange lump of cooked cheese in a little tub! Still it was the only bad point the rest was great.

Tired!
Room was tired. Bed was lumpy and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Lights in the beer garden are very bright and curtains in room are not black out. We had a terrible night sleep. Had a meal in the pub the night before. This was nice although we weren’t allowed any more gravy with our roast dinners as they may run out!? A pub on a Sunday that serves roast dinners!!? Very disappointing. Waitress service was also slow. We had to prompt for service on three occasions.

Hidden gem in Henlow
We were happily surprised by the apartment in the harden of the pub. It was stylish and comfortable and had everything we needed. The meals we had at the pub were very good. I would highly recommend this property.
