Several friends & I have gone on camping trips in the Ozarks of Arkansas for many years now. But after those years of critters and mosquitoes, not knowing what group might locate in the campsites next to us, unexpected storms, and limited cooking and restroom facilities, we decided this year to “upgrade” our get-togethers. And what an upgrade! Fox Ridge is a beautifully laid out and maintained property in the hills and woods of the Arkansas River, complete with large ponds stocked with fish, hiking trails, and three secluded cabins. The one we were in slept 5 of us very comfortably, with even more bedding, enough for a couple of families, and plenty of room throughout with two TV viewing areas (for college football in our case). The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking from scratch, even with 2 slow cookers for keeping foods warm throughout the day. Outside is a huge deck with plenty of seating, overlooking the woods and with a view of downtown Tulsa from a distance. The quietness of the breeze blowing through the woods offers the serenity that we don’t always get at campsites, with no traffic noise, just the sounds of nature. This resort is perfect for family outings, reunions, even corporate events, at any time of the year. (We were talking about how pleasant it would be with snow falling.) I rarely write reviews, but after our experience I just had to brag on the quality of this property and its location & management. I'm the hero of our "camping" group now!
