We booked a Superior room which came without windows. Some reviews we read were unhappy about this but we had been traveling for 3 weeks and constantly being woken up by cockerels or traffic beeping so I was happy without the window as it was just for one night. Breakfast is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. Only negative is the hallways/ rooms are a bit run down compared to the fancy reception area and could do with updating, but overall I’d stay here again.

The location of this hotel is just right about everything, within the walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. The staff is very friendly and enthusiastic. The breakfast is superb. Certainly, this will be my first choice for my next visit to Hanoi.

Goed hotel op fantastische locatie
Het Silk hotel is een zeer redelijk 4 sterren hotel, met prima kamers, hoewel de badkamers wel heel erg gedateerd zijn. De manager vertelde me dat hieraan gewerkt wordt, en dat binnen een paar maanden de badkamers ook up to date zijn. Het ontbijt is prima (als je van Vietnamees eten houdt) en het personeel maakt graag een praatje (voor zover ze Engels spreken).

Mala relación calidad precio
El hotel en principio no parece tener ningún problema. De hecho lo mejor del hotel es el personal de recepción y el servicio en general. Nosotros fuimos en navidad y es temporada alta así que el precio no era bajo. Sin embargo fallaron dos cosas importantes. La primera es que estuvimos en la planta 8 y en el ático se monta todas las noches una especie de chill out con música electrónica a todo volumen que a veces dura hasta muy tarde si tu plan es hacer excursiones la mañana siguiente. La segunda cosa se falló la mañana antes de irnos fue el agua caliente. No pudimos ducharnos. Lo mejor el personal sin duda. Lo demás no vale la pena por el precio de temporada alta.

No windows.Overpriced.Great staff. Poor management
Deceitful description on ALL websites. Majority of rooms have NO WINDOWS. Descriptions show one room type as No Window but remaining room types either hide or not show room has No Window. On check in an hour wasted with Manager Chris and Lan, in an apparent interview and excuses. I repeatedly saw the same with many guests checking in daily. My 5 day stay was spoilt by this. Chris moved us to a larger room with a window for the last 2 Days. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Chris has poor management skills and keen to blame staff for his lack of management. Rooms overpriced and combined bath/shower is too high to get into for most people without risk of losing balance. Breakfast is good but too narrow to access. Lots of staff cause congestion but miss basic organisation. The tea and coffee pot go missing between buffet heater and bar counter as staff want to serve, but go missing and coffee goes cold. Buffet area so small it would be simple just to allow self service and replenish whatever is needed as necessary.I burned my hand when toasters moving hot frame had stopped. Instead of removing it or staff staying with it, I saw countless people find their toast/croissant burn and smoke causing urgent reactions by us to remove the item to avoid fire? Why?Napkins were not replaced, insufficient toothpicks.Just basic stuff but too many staff with no direction/ supervision.Chris tried to placate me with window room for last 2 days and free taxi to airport.Profit cover

Pleasant Stay at Silk Collection Hotel & Spa
The hotel is in the old town of Hanoi and it contrasts a bit with surroundings but it's definitely a good choice. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I did book one of the premium rooms with windows (who will think there are rooms without windows, but welcome to Asia ;) The staff is very friendly and try it's best to assist visitors.

The location is excellent. The staff were terrific. The manager Mr Do and the front reception counter staff were very helpful and always available. They would call a grab car or give directions. The Skybar was a cool place to hang out but the drinks were expensive. If you want a room with a window you must book the superior room. Read the fine print because rooms from the 4th floor down have no windows. These rooms are still very nice and a little less expensive.

호텔 예약을 했는데 방 문제가 있다고 자매 호텔로 보내네요.. 갔거니 새로 지어서 페인트 냄새가 심하고 온수도 안나와 결국 다른 호텔로 옮겼습니다. 나름 직원들은 최선을 다하려고 했지만, 최악이었네요.

We found the staff to be incredibly friendly & helpful. They even packed us a breakfast to takeaway seeing as we had to leave early in the morning, before breakfast was open. We were very disappointed by the room though. We thought we had been thorough in our booking but we missed the small print that said the Standard room does not have a window. We’d deliberately avoided other places who had been more upfront about their window-less rooms. The room was incredibly dark & depressing & we spent as little time in there as possible. The lighting was very poor. The rooftop bar was amazing however & we were lucky enough to be there when they had live music which was fantastic. Expensive drinks but worth it for the experience.

Perfect stay!
The stay at the hotel was perfect! Very nice crew that would love to help with any question or request. The location is also excellent since it is in the old quarter, pretty much close to anything by a short walking distance. The room was lovely (We stayed on the 9th floor, room 904) with a nice city view and they seemed to really think about the details. One more thing - The bar on top is really fun and has a magnificant view over the city. Thanks alot!

We were "upgraded" supposedly to a bigger room but still felt very narrow and non functional window. The place was clean and ok for a night or two.

旧市街エリアの中で周囲にはショップや現地スーパーなど買い物に便利で、聖堂やホアンキエム湖にも近く、観光の拠点とするには素晴らしい立地です。スタッフがとても親切な方々ばかりでした。基本的に英語でしかやりとりしなかったので、日本語が通じるかは不明です。

The staff at this hotel are always helpful and would make things work for you. One of the senior staff at the lobby, Michael, was exceptional as he could sense your distress if you had any and would check on you and offer his help without approaching him. Most staff are able to understand simple English in this hotel. Communicating your needs would not be a major issue. One thing to note is the bathroom size which is rather small and yet they managed to include a bath tub into it. Would definitely be a plus after a day out from the activities and soaking your tired body in it. This however happened to be elevated and if you are not one that likes the idea of “dipping” in, you may just want to give it a miss. Facilities are basic but sufficient for a week’s stay and if you like some cityview and fresh air, do give yourself some time at the Skybar located on the highest floor in this building.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was accommodating. When asked if I had any suggestions for improvement, they went above and beyond to apologize for the stay not being perfect because I made a small suggestion. It was amazing hospitality! They drove us to train station and also let us shower before our train after check out!

Overall good except for level 2 rooms.
The hotel is located at a very centralised location, just 5mins walk from the Hoan Kiem lake. Overall service is good. However, my room is in level 2 which seems to be much lower in height and the shower area is designed badly with a bathtub that requires you to enter the bathtub to shower, making the overall height much lowered. I had to bend my head when showering.
