Private Paradise
Loved this home! This was a perfect secluded getaway for my husband and I. The ocean view, the close proximity to hikes, waterfalls, beaches and more and the wonderful property manager made this one of our all time favorites! The only recommendation I have is to get a four wheel drive vehicle if possible. It can rain a lot and the steep, gravel driveway can be a bit tricky to maneuver. Other than that, we would definitely recommend this locatuon.

Great stop in Hana.
If you take the road to Hana you should plan to spend two days at least. We spent two nights here which gave us a full day to explore around Hana. We brought food as suggested and had two wonderful dinner at the house. It has a great kitchen set up and plenty of porch space for sitting outside and listening to the oven. The second floor bedroom suite is fantastic.

Wonderful property!
Secluded, but close enough to Hanā to get supplies or grab food. The house is laid out so that windows can be opened and intermittent rains cooled things off periodically - we didnt need the room-based air conditioners at all! The kitchen is well appointed and easy to work with. Main bedroom - wonderful spacious, above average comfortable bed. Downstairs bedroom - very comfortable bed directly below a fan to keep extra cool! Living areas - well appinted and comfortable and very spacious feeling. Lanai - well thought out also well appointed, also with an outdoor fan over the furniture which helped keep biting bugs at bay. Yard - easy to walk aroubf on barefoot. If you get some clear skies, lay down on the grass or a towel or blanket for a great view of the stars. I saw six shooting stars within the space of an hour! We only made enough time to paint one rock - will do more next time! Tip notch place!! Thanks so much!! -greg

Amazing Hana
Beautiful house and a great location. We were greatly amused by previous reviews mentioning rodents and braying mules as we encountered neither. We did have some lovely and friendly geckos and the occasional feral cow as visitors however! Everyone involved was delightful to work with. Awesome place and experience!

Everything here is great! The host is amazing, she has thought of everything you would need to make your stay awesome. The only thing I didn't like was the tv was small.... But when you are here you spend most of your time outside. My tv is 80 inches maybe that's why I expected to be bigger. Other than that 9/10

We celebrated our 50th anniversary with my sister and her husband who we had a double wedding with in 1973. We loved the house in Hana; however, it was a little closer to the road than we realized and had quite a bit of traffic noise. The outdoor bathtub was so nice and the upstairs bedroom was inviting and had amazing views! We also really enjoyed our time relaxing on the lanai!!!

True paradise in Hana!
We are so glad we chose this rental for our delayed honeymoon in Maui. The house was absolutely beautiful; the gardens were stunning; the place had everything we needed (and a few things we didn't know we needed--like rock painting! :). We had the best time just sitting on the lanai, reading, listening to the birds, looking out over the garden to the ocean, enjoying each other. We are so grateful to have had this experience.

Fabulous house, noisy cows
This place was just beautiful! The house was clean, large and very well appointed. Several great sitting areas, master bedroom upstairs was huge, fabulous views. But around 10pm, the cows / bull were so loud until moving on ~midnight, then up at dawn. I didn’t mind this too much, but some of our party got no sleep. Just be forewarned. You are in a rural setting!

Wonderful setting. The property is well taken care of and it shows. It was a great use of the location to add a second floor to take advantage of the sunrise views and ocean view. The second floor window reading bench was wonderful.

Bliss in Paradise
This very well maintained and cute home is located just off the Hana HWY between Hana and the Kipahulu section of the Haleakala NP. We appreciated the large living space, the very generous upstairs bedroom with amazing views, the many nooks and crannies to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and the private and beautiful backyard. The backyard and the patios are also enjoyed by a few mosquitos at night and in the mornings but that goes with the territory. Also, some may lament the fact that the dishwasher is of the two-legged variety but we did not mind.

Respite from the rain!
The house was exactly as described it had everything we needed for our extended stay in Hana - except electricity, internet, and water. But that's what happens when a huge storm rolls through the entire island. And yet we give it 5-stars. You come to Hana for a break, and with a perfectly outfitted house that worked great for this family, allowing plenty of space, books to read, family puzzle time, a fully stocked kitchen allowing us to make our own dinners each night, and a great location right between Hana and the the Haleakala National Park's KĪPAHULU VISITOR CENTER hit all the right chords. And whomever doesn't like the entertainment of the cows has no sense of humor or just doesn't like animals. We looked forward to their entertaining chorus each day. While it will be a long time before we make it back, we'd definitely recommend the Hana Hale for anyone looking for an extended trip to Hana. So don't try to drive both ways in one day. Take your time, spend a couple nights, and see much of what the South Side has to offer. It's worth the trip.

What a wonderful way to rest in paradise
Beautiful property. The way the sun rises over the bay to wake you up is so much nicer than an alarm. The property is wonderfully maintained. Yes there were spiders, but they left us alone and made for some interesting photos. The roaming cows provided nightly entertainment. My only recommendation would be if there were more portable fans available. The one in the living room could be starting to break because the speed never got past the first setting. Thank you again for this experience.

Rainforest Retreat
Stayed two nights to explore the area around Hana-Haleakala National Park, Lindbergh’s gravesite, and the gorgeous black sand beach which was our favorite. We hiked both sides of the cove and enjoyed the views and the caves. The State Park was nicely maintained and easy to access. The roaming cows were fun to listen to and watch wander down the road.

We came here at the end of our Hawaii 50th anniversary vacation. Had a wonderful stay, house is unique, clean, beautiful lanai and patio furniture. We spent a lot of time out there, drinking coffee and wine.

We arrived to a very clean home, all the amenities you would need including chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, even some items in the fridge. The rooms were clean and the views from the upper bedroom were lovely. The property is well maintained and we thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor furniture and fan. There were cows "moo-ing" in the background. We slept in the downstairs bedroom and didn't hear them throughout the night but our guest stayed upstairs and I guess they liked to "moo" at least once an hour all through the night. It's all party of the experience in Hana. All in all, it was lovely. We highly recommend and would love to stay again.

Such a relaxing stay at this beautiful home. The grounds were manicures and well cared for.gorgeous views from the covered porch, bedrooms and living room. We didn’t want to leave. Hyatt Ranch had good food for lunch and dinner. Never tried the food trucks but we heard they were great too. Loved not having to go all the way back the same day after doing the road to Hana. It was perfect to split up the tour while staying there. Thank you!

Lovely property but you'll need the fans
Nicely furnished and attractive property. It is right on the road so there is some traffic noise, and (as others have mentioned) the local bovine community makes itself heard occasionally in the nighttime. I'd recommend earplugs. Communication and responsiveness with the manager were great. The only negative for us-- and a fairly big one-- was that it was very hot. Saving grace was an abundance of fans provided in the property. Temperatures in Hawaii seem to be increasing (global warming is real! record high in Kahului of 95 Sept 25) and there is nowhere in Hana that has A/C. Fans allowed us to sleep at night and sit quietly during waking hours; any activity and we were quickly overheating. Not really a fault of this property but good to be forewarned.

Hana Hale Hallelujah!
What a fun and gorgeous place the Hana Hale is! It is remote - as is all of Hana - but the directions make it easy to find. The home is decorated in Aloha style with the occasional kitsch thrown in for fun. It is true that there are bugs but that is to be expected. What we didn’t expect was the serenade from the cows having a lot of fun in the evenings ha ha! There’s a gorgeous view of Big Island from the upper level and the flowers around the property are sublime. There is no AC, which we knew, but would’ve appreciated a couple more fans for the evening cool down. Just an FYI about Hana in general - If you plan to stay more than one night, make sure to pack and bring food with you. There isn’t much by way of grocery stores but good for incidentals and lots of food trucks around. We really enjoyed our stay!

We loved this property and would come back. We loved the location and found the property rustic and charming. Super chill. Great porch and living space. Well appointed. Beautiful landscaping. Could use some tlc ( windows and blinds should all function). Second bathroom is a bit dis functional as there is no shower. Perfect for two, ok for four.

A Heavenly Beach Jungle Bungalow
My husband and I absolutely LOVED our stay here! The house is even more charming than in the photos. It is beautiful and secluded and so welcoming. The owner left a great house and town guide which was very helpful. The location was perfection, close to so many different hikes, beaches, and overall adventures. We did encounter some bugs and little cute geckos (as warned about in the description) but nothing too crazy. The house is open and airy with gorgeous views from the huge 2nd floor master bedroom. We truly loved our experience staying in this beautiful Hana home and would definitely come back!

Beautiful rainforest property
I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The house itself is great and nicely furnished. Well stocked kitchen. I don't remember there being AC but we turned on the fan in the bedroom so it is comfortable. Since this is in the rainforest it does get a bit humid, but that didn't bother me. The bedroom has wonderful views, especially of the sunrise. Note that there are some wild cattle in the area, so you do hear mooing from time to time. This didn't bother me but it did wake up my spouse at night who is a light sleeper. Overall great property.

Oh my!!! Where do I begin??? This home is simply paradise! The house is immaculate, well decorated, has everything you could need for your stay and had the peaceful vibe to it. We spent many hours reading in the window seat in the master. We slept like babies in this sweet treehouse-like bedroom with the constant soothing breeze, the soft rains and the distant crashing of the waves in the distance. Our days were spent on the comfy outdoor sofa and our evenings we cooked every meal on the very nice Weber grill. And that’s just the house! If you add in the house’s incredible location, one of the most beautiful places on earth, you end up with the most amazing, perfect house… we still can’t believe the owners are willing to share this treasure! Trust me, if it’s available, book it!

A wonderful home and a super getaway
This property is located a few minutes beyond the town of Hana. It is stunning. The grounds are very well maintained and the flora is delightful. We loved time on the large porch, the capacious living quarters, and in the gorgeous upstairs bedroom with its marvelous view of sunrise. The interior was impeccable and we couldn't have wanted for more comfortable home. The bed was very comfortable, water pressure was fine at the shower and for dishes. We happen to like house geckos, and the shower gecko greeted me on the window each morning. They are harmless and fun to watch. Remarkably, we experienced very few mosquitos, perhaps because of the stronger than usual winds. Kitchen considerations: We'd recommend replacing the peeler, which we were unable to clean sufficiently for use. We would at a juice can opener (the style that punctures cans for pouring juice). The coil burners on the oven are aged and not level (or levelable), and the right rear did not work (we informed the woman who'd come to clean). Otherwise, everything was fine. House considerations: The only impediment to the views was the dirty exterior of the windows. I have a lot of windows myself, and know it's hard to keep up with. Most of the screens work sufficiently, and it would be great to have the others repaired (I recognize the challenge of keeping them in order with the strong Easterly winds. We met the cleaning person who was lovely, and gave us some history of the area and the property. Again, there are orchids an other flowers and flowering plants that are gorgeous, and the lawn feels like a magic carpet ride to walk on. Other things to note: Braddah Huts is the bomb! Great food, reasonable pricing, big portions, and the couple are wonderful! Cows. Yes, there are cows. Our first night, though my wife slept through it, I was serenaded by a bull with a penchant for building grunts into a crescendo of bellows. Amusing, if also a little annoying :-). Dogs: the neighbor keeps six hunting dogs in pens. They are healthy and sheltered, fed and watered, but they are working dogs, so they are left to their devices during the day (6:30A - 6:00 or so PM) during which time they often bark in hopes of garnering some attention. It's noticeable, but not interruptive.

Great stay perfect location
Great day perfect location just close enough to town but also close enough to the falls. Nice peaceful setting with the exception of a couple of strange cow noises in the evening. You definitely will notice the cows but you'll get used to them. We will definitely be coming back.

Heaven in the treetops in Hana
The house is so special. Comfortable and cozy, we loved just hanging there. The bedroom window seat is magical. Waves and wales in the vast sea and birds and butterflies in the treetops. Sunrise mornings in bed. We had a wonderful time.
