It was nice, wel located, the only problem was the leaking sink, noisy, especially at night and low water pressure in the shower

Lovely hotel in great central location. Charlotte suite room was really big and comfortable. Can be noisy by the bar but was all finished by 11 which was fine with us

The staff at the Angel Hotel were so friendly and helpful to us at our stay. They tried to accommodate every one of our wishes and needs and were helpful in every way. Wonderful service

Was in a room that looked out on the high street, both nights was awoken between 2.30am & 4am with deliveries being made, amongst other things going on outside my window,. spoke to the manager after the first night and said they are aware of it but just have to accept it, Based you stay away to save tiresome travel to and from home, would have been better to have travelled home.; No one on reception when went down at 10pm, so generally feel like left to it.. Wont stay again, wasnt value for money at all.

A very interesting and unique old building. I found the historic character most appealing and the lack of right-angles was a welcome change from some of the austere boxes I have stayed in recently. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. I would have preferred an earlier option for breakfast in the adjacent restaurant - but in the end this was not a problem due to the large dinner the night before!

The worst hotel we ever been no central heating,very dirty the reception didn’t help at all this hotel doesn’t deserve half a star 🌟 not four star as it says on the website very very disappointing

An amazing building, but difficult to navigate with a suitcase. The room was surprisingly comfortable with an excellent bathroom and a great modern shower. The receptionists were very nice, easy to talk and helpful. We had a nice stay.

Check-in service was good and friendly. left bags for a later check-in and they were accommodating. The trip to the room was difficult with heavy luggage as there are a lot of stairs and narrow corridors to navigate before you finally get to your room. Rooms had a smell, believe our carpets had just been cleaned and maybe weren't quit dry. Our room had a twin bed and the mattress was worn out and squeaked when you sat or laid down. the shower worked for a couple minutes before the battery in control unit went dead and then only had tub. The nightclub washrooms were close to room so got some noise in hallway and from nightclub until midnight or closing. There is certainly some heritage to this hotel but it was not at the level you would expect for the hefty room price in the $180/night Cdn range. We brought some of the concerns to attention of the staff the next morning without much comment or apology from their side.

Fabulous historic hotel; the room was huge for the price with a sitting area and large bathroom with a bath, not just a shower. very quiet room overlooking the alley to the right of the hotel. Short walk to bus station, railway, theatre and in the heart of high street shops. BILL'S can be entered from the hotel for a superb breakfast and also lunch/evening meal. Did not try the cocktail bar (inside the hotel but a separate business) as it was cabaret night.

Reception were great and helpful. Shown to the room, all questions answered. The shower bath was great however the shower couldn't produce hot enough water so had to bath. (Reported to reception in the morning as not a problem for one night) Location in high street is great with overnight street parking free as long as you move car by 8:30 next morning. Being in the centre of the old town the small alleys echo noise but after 11pm it was quiet.

We have stayed here before and never had a problem. The Angel has lots of corridors and stairs and can be a little complicated to find the room. We have always been shown to our room before but this time we were left to find our room on our own which wasn’t straightforward. We had no heating in our room apart from an electric radiator which had no benefit at all. We spoke to reception who said they would get someone to look at it. The selection of tea and coffee in the room was poor. Don’t think it had been replenished from previous guests. Overall enjoyed our stayed but a little disappointing from previous visits.

A bit chilly.
A charming and convenient hotel for a one night stay. It was a very cold night and there was a heater which did not have much effect in the large room. As it happens I prefer a cold bedroom and once in bed I slept well but the bathroom in the morning was icy.

Comfortable place to stay but no parking.
Comfortable stay in characterful hotel. Only down side is lack of any parking or ability to arrange local parking, making it very awkward with even minimal luggage.Think this needs to be addressed and we would not stay again as couldn't prebook or ring book any of parking options local to Hotel.

Charming hotel in the centre of Guildford
Great slightly quirky but very charming hotel on the high street in the thick of things and yet a quiet oasis. Has a restaurant and a bar that while not owned by the hotel, are part of the building. If like me you've come by train, easy 10 min walk to the station (& pretty much everything else in central Guildford). Staff are friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Hotellet er meget charmerende og personalet er virkelig servicemindede og søde. Perfekt beliggenhed midt i byen tæt på forretninger og gode spisesteder. Værelserne er kæmpe store og hyggelige, men på en kold weekend er de godt nok svære at varme op. Jeg måtte have masser af tøj på om natten :) Nød dog opholdet alligevel.

Att bo i ett gammalt genuint engelskt hotell som detta är att vara med i en film. Takbjälkar, lågt i tak, heltäckningsmattor, englasfönster kombinerat med en uppfräschning från senare år och en serviceinriktad personal var härligt.

Lovely but noisy
Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. We were in room 202 it was gorgeous except it was above a restaurant and between a lobby and a cabaret bar. I would not recommend this room on a Friday or Saturday night, as it was too noise to sleep until after midnight and my 7am you could hear the restaurant in the yard below the window. Location is excellent, walking distance of everything. No carpark but we used Just park and booked a local driveway.
