Groton Inn is a nice brand new place. A few basic accessories would be welcome (no clocks in room, no drawer). Otherwise, nice place to stay

Enjoy the free coffee and tea station near check-in, as well as the daily breakfast and fitness center. Nice view of the nearby hill from backside of property. Make sure to see it during sunset.

The Accessible room was nicely designed, located and clean. But as in all hotels it is furnished for short people: appropriate, yes, but a tall person with impaired quadriceps who has trouble rising from a seated position needs to bring boosters.

The pillows and bed were super comfortable. I liked the room amenities such as the soap and shampoo brand. The included continental style breakfast had nice options and was delicious. Friendly Staff. Great location. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Great inn, not great breakfast
Overall it was a very nice stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodations were comfortable and clean. The only issue we had was that the breakfast was not like what was pictured. Rather than a nice filling breakfast we were offered a covid-era grab and go situation that was not very filling or tasty. You'd think that such a nice inn would offer a better breakfast for guests.

The property from the outside was pretty but for the cost we were not impressed with the room’s cleanliness or the service provided. Our children slept on the pull out couch which flung crumbs everywhere when they pulled it out. It had bedding already on it which I really didn’t think was clean but there were no extra linens in the closet just one pillow. The bathroom being accessible was fine, but no matter how you put the shower curtain water was all over the floor. The water temp was also difficult to control. The biggest issue was them denying the free breakfast that Expedia said was included for the hotel and listed under each room option. According the the hotel’s staff, “That’s wrong and false advertising on Expedia’s part and they can’t make decisions for them.” I’ve honestly never had hotel staff be argumentative about it and refusing to honor it. We’ve had family who stayed there before with no issue, but we will not stay again.

This is a beautiful Inn in the center of the Town of Groton. There are numerous ways to enjoy a relaxing visit. Outdoor seating offers views of rolling hillsides and a quiet Main Street. On chillier evenings, there is a large fireplace in the lobby with comfortable seating. Our room was spacious and very quiet.

Prepare to Prove You are Worthy of Staying Here!
Very rarely have I stayed at an inn where I was made to feel unwelcome -- The Groton Inn is in that category. The woman who handled our checkout was very nice, but otherwise we were made to feel like second-class guests. The worst were the other guests, of whom many were there for a wedding -- they were exceptionally rude and acted like we were animals. The room itself was nice, clean, and comfortable, though strangely laid out, with a lot of open space in the middle of the room. It's a charming historic inn, but I think I must lack the proper pedigree to stay there, so in the future, I will not make such a mistake. We are treated much better at Marriott and Hyatt properties for half the price.

Overnight stay
No window covering on one window which was across from a street lamp so the room was lit up all night. The lower mattress had either a stain from leaking walls or a big stain from something else. Entire corner of the mattress was covered in something. We arrived on a late flight, hotel was called ahead of time so that we would not inconvenience anyone. Front desk woman was unkind and short. Continually reminding us of extra charges we may incur since we booked through Expedia. We did not eat there nor did we take a bottle of water because it seemed as though we would not pay? I will not stay here in the future.

Historic Detail with Modern Touches
The service at the front desk was as warm and welcoming as the brightly burning fire in the front lobby. The colonial décor matched the setting of this stately building in the center of Groton, but also included lovely modern touches like gleaming new bathroom fixtures and double hung shades to filter light or darken the room. It was the perfect setting for our honeymoon.
