Doesn't deserve Best Western name
I have been to many different Best Western in the world and I choose them because I know what to expect. That's why I chose this one but were really disappointed : smelly room, noisy, poor level of equipment, ... Even if the personal was very smart, I will not come back.

I hope you gave us a chance to make you happy. My staff and I are dedicated to meeting or exceeding the expectations of our guests. If we know you are unhappy about something, we will do our best to fix the problem.

The place was filthy, disgusting and smelled awful. The person at the counter was rude, inconsiderate and Made comments about my weight and my wifes breasts even asking to see them. We were terrified to let my wife come and go on her own because the counter person made her so uncomfortable and scared. Never stay here, go elsewhere and be safe

This is Scott Baker, hotel owner. Zackary telephoned my hotel shortly before Midnight and said he needed to cancel his reservation because he meant to reserve a hotel in Warsaw, Indiana instead of Goshen, Indiana. My front desk agent told Zackary that because the reservation was prepaid to Expedia, that the he needed to call Expedia to cancel as we at the hotel did not charge his card, it was Expedia that charged his card, so he needs to call Expedia to cancel. We cannot cancel for him. He has to do that and we told him. According to Expedia, he never called them to cancel. At no point did Zackary ever arrive at my hotel. He was never here.

I had a good 3 night stay. This hotel has been here a long time I've stayed here several times over the years. It's a reasonably priced place, that may need a few things here and there but overall decent place to stay. I did meet the owner and he seems to genuinely care about his guests stay and seemed like a nice enough guy. The shower, in my room #300, was hard to control the water temp. but had great pressure. Maybe needing a new mixer valve. The floor in my room was pretty dirty though. It's a pet friendly room that seemed to need it's floors mopped a little better. Over-all I'm happy. They checked on me severl times to see if i needed anything. Again, seemed to care and I think the new owner, is trying hard to make improvements. I will stay there again when I'm in Goshen In.

Great staff and clean rooms
We stayed here for its proximity to Shipshewana and Nappanee. The staff was very friendly every time we spoke with them. Breakfast was pretty good. They had waffles, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, cereal, oatmeal, and fruit. The room was big and quite clean. One of the issues we had was the shower head. It had lime build up and came out in a mist rather than a spray. We talked to the front desk and he let us move to the room right next door. The other issue was the beds. I didn't sleep well either night due to how hard and uncomfortable they were. I wouldn't mind staying here again if the mattresses were replaced.

Pet friendly room needed a good scrubbing on floors and walls. Dirty and dusty. There was an extremely strong perfume smell that permeated everything. It triggered asthma issues that lasted all night. Loud road right outside the room with lots of traffic noise. I have probably stayed in worse hotel rooms, but I can’t remember when. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this time it’s necessary.

Good Cause Getaway
I slept well. Enjoyed coffee and an egg, sausage and cheese bagel and oatmeal in my room. It was close by the Mill Race Trail, where I participated in a 5K Walk for Immigrant Justice.

Staff was very friendly & helpful, especially owner, Scott, and counter-staff both late at night and early morning. Property itself is an older style two-story motel with individual outside entries off the ample parking area. Furnishings & fixtures are older but well-maintained and very clean; bedding was immaculate. Breakfast looked great, several guests and families were eating, although we didn’t have time to enjoy it.

My wife found the location of the Dairy Queen right next door a major plus! The only thought that came to my mind is the place could use just a little more TLC. For instance the one table in our room just needed one of the legs "straightened" to make things go from good to great! Details matter. We would stay there again.

It was Fair, Had a couple hairs in the bathroom from previous guests. Stains in carpet. Water pressure was very low, im glad my wife wasnt with me with all her hair! Breakfast was not good honestly and very little selection.

It pains me to know that you even spent one minute in a room that was like that. Did my staff not immediately fix the problem by giving you a pristine room? This is distressing to me.

I have many times the landscaping as my competing hotels (quite beautiful) but that also means extra care is needed in keeping ahead of weeds. My staff has been catching up this week. I hope you still enjoyed the acre+ of beautiful landscaping even with some weeds.

This hotel is run down and certainly not one that Best Western could brag about, I'm surprised they are affiliated with BW. My first impression was the filthy windows in the office area and didn't improve once we got in the room - the windows are filthy both inside and out. The outside stairs to the 2nd floor are rotted. The breakfast is pitiful - the lady managing it told us "hopefully there will be more tomorrow". The guest directory indicates breakfast in on until 10:30 am but the desk manager said it was over at 9 am. The ice machine is broken but they will gladly sell you a bag of ice. And to top off our stay, water leaked in our bathroom area from the floor above.

Greedy owner, untrustworthy - STAY AWAY!
Horrible management / owner. Hotels.com had a glitch and booked us on the wrong day. Hotels.com was willing to fix it if the hotel cooperated. The owner refused, and kept our money for a night we were never able to use. We stay in hotels over 100 nights a year, and this is the first time a hotel has been so petty and greedy as to keep money for a stay we could not use. Hotel front desk confirmed the hotel was not sold out for this night. Therefore the rooms would have sat empty anyway. All we wanted to do was have the date moved to the next night when we would actually be in town. We weren’t looking for our money back. However they insisted on keeping the money for the wrong night. $200 they kept from us. I hope the owner of this establishment gets treated with the same inconsiderate selfishness when she encounters a simple mistake in her life. This interaction made it clear that this hotel will find any way of taking money from you. They are not concerned with customer goodwill and loyalty. They are willing to sacrifice that for short term monetary gain. Keep that in mind when considering who to trust with your credit card for incidentals as well. STAY AWAY!!

Hello Eric, this is Scott Baker, hotel owner. I believe you and support you. I believe when you say that the hotels.com website glitched and reserved you the wrong date. You have repeatedly told us that both in your review and in direct communications with my staff. I am saddened that the customer service rep who you spoke with at Expedia/Hotels.com (a 16 billion corporation) was not willing to take responsibility or escalate the matter to their supervisor and is instead trying to throw me and my family (we just have one small hotel) under the bus and tell you that we are the reason their company cannot afford to take responsibility for their own mistake. If you are still reading, I was sold out of the type of room that Hotels.com purchased for resale to you and there was at least one traveler who wanted that type of room and decided to go to another hotel that night because I did did not have any more of it. Also, I am not blaming you for what happened, but just for the benefit of others reading this, I have a system that automatically sends the guest a text message early on the day of arrival which travelers appreciate. We received from you a response to that text a full day after we sent it out. I support your efforts to get justice from Hotels.com, but please do not let their rep get away with blaming a small family business that did exactly what Hotels.com told us to do even to the point of turning down a sale from another traveler. Please feel free to share this response from me with your bank when you challenge the charge to your credit card. It may help you if they know I am taking your side.

While this facility is dated by 50 years the staff more than make up for it! I was welcomed by everyone on staff I encountered and they were responsive to correcting a minor issue with the room. When I was preparing to leave at the end of my stay I set my suitcases outside the door as I gathered up the few remaining items in the room. When I left the room a minute or two later the suitcases had been carried down the stairs and were waiting at the bottom. A huge treat for a senior traveler!
