First thing that made me go wow was how beautiful the hostel was. The ambient lights were a good touch. My oh my the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in a hostel. The lockers are very good and easy to use, safe and secure. The staffs were super friendly and were always willing to help me out. It is an amazing hostel suitated in a prime location with quick access to both central station and queens Street rail station. If you're Canadian like me there a Tim Hortons.

I was very happy with the hostel. I am an older single woman and was a little worried but it was a really good safe hostel. I believe there is a night club below but I found the hostel very quiet and the room and bed was very comfortable. Value for money was fantastic and I would certainly come back

This is an excellent budget hotel with arms reach to the Glasgow shopping centres and Queen street train station. Facilities are very clean. The only issue is the lack of toilets available leading to a lot of queuing in the shared facilities.

Wie es bereits die Bewertungen zuvor schreiben, ist der Club darunter sehr deutlich zu hören und selbst mit Ohropax hört man dass wummern des Bass‘. Leider war die zugeteilte Kapsel ebenfalls nicht gerade die sauberste. Zudem hielt uns ein Fehlalarm der Brandmeldeanlage die halbe Nacht wach. Dennoch, für günstiges Budget eine sehr zentrale Unterkunft.

The noise, I did get an email to say there would be some residual noise about the place from nearby nightspots. If I had known there was noise (it's not residual, it is loud) at the point of booking, I would not have booked. It would be better to allow people to make an informed choice at this point and not in an email a few days before they arrive. First night there, loud music til 7am, all night long.

Clean and pleasant (as much as a hostel can be). Good location. Some reviews complain about noise but I didn’t hear anything. Even so, the hostel does provide free earplugs. It is extremely warm though, I was just lucky to visit at the end of October so the warmth was pleasant, however I do not know how this would be like in the summer.

Rooftop gym; ask the reception for more details. There are laundry services on premises [ 5pm to 9pm daily; £2 wash £2 dryer - payment by card only ]. Dorms have lockers and storage cages assigned to each guest. Complimentary towels. Strong Wifi; Tesco / Sainsbury / Pret / Caffe Nero / Starbucks / Costa Coffee / Post Office minutes from the property. There is no ATM on premises. This review is based on my stay in a 6 / six bed dorm.

Good for 2-3 days as a solo traveller
My review is only for a solo traveller who wants to find a good cheap place to stay for a few nights in the middle of the city. I stayed there for 7 days and it was not very comfortable. The toilets are a bit less for the number of people that it can house. if I am not mistaken, 1 room can house 8 people and there is just one toilet with attached bath that they can use which makes it a bit crowded. The doors creek a lot which can be fixed easily by oiling them. The beds, even though soft are not for those who want to sleep on straight surfaces. Every morning I used to have a backache. The hostel is clean overall and the staff does their work efficiently but it is the nature of living that can make the experience a bit mediocre. The overall ambience was nice and I spent countless hours sitting in the common area, eating and drinking with good music. The food itself was inexpensive so good for a person who does not want to spend too much. I had a ground bunkbed and there was a cage locker under the bed which already had a lock on it. I requested it to be opened up but nothing happened for the entire duration of stay. In short, if you want a good solo place to stay for 2-3 days, it is a good option and if you want to further extend your stay, get an airBNB

Extremely noisy - especially in the morning
The room was fine, but the noise…! The walls are incredibly thin, so you hear everybody coming and going through the very creaky front door on the second floor. At 8.30 in the morning they started playing loud dance music from the speakers all along the corridors (why?) which made it impossible to sleep. You hear the bar downstairs at night which we had less of an issue with, but the music in the morning just made no sense. No one wants to wake up early to Nicki Minaj at full blast. The shared bathrooms aren’t nice and the bath mats are mouldy.

The best aspect about this accommodation is the central location. I could walk to the Central station or the Queen Station within a few minutes. The bed was made before my arrival and towels were provided for free. I always went to the toilet next to the lobby, which was always clean, instead of the one upstairs, which was always dirty when I had a look at it. Additionally the showers were inconvenient. The shower room was too small and the shower itself was dirty, too. The water was too hot and I didn’t know how to turn it colder. I have to say though that I take cold showers for usual, which I couldn’t in that hostel. The shower stops automatically after a few seconds, which was annoying as I had to turn on the water every single time over again. All in all, it was alright for me to stay for a few days. However, I’d not book the accommodation again and I wouldn’t recommend it due to lack of hygiene.

The Revolver was good value for the money, staff were welcoming and friendly and it was located convenient to central Glasgow. I was also happy that I was allowed to stash my bag there a couple of hours after checkout. Having said that, I thought that the toilets (near reception) as well as the shower room in my en suite bedroom could have been cleaned more often (pick up paper, refill toilet roll, and check other supplies). Also, the day before I arrived someone sought and (so she said) received permission to use the bed that was to be assigned to me (she didn't want an upper bunk). But this was not noted in the file, as such the bed she had claimed was assigned to me, leading to a very uncomfortable and embarrassing situation when she found me in "her" bed (she was a very tidy person, leaving no trace that she had slept in the bed the night before). We dealt with the situation between us (I took the bunk that was originally assigned to her), but the situation could have been avoided had reception noted that she changed beds.
