Summer Getaway close to the beach
Emerald Hotel
Place has become run down since we last stayed 5 years ago. Some lights did not work, sliding door stuck, odd assembly of cutlery and plates, how to tell who staff were because there was no uniform, staff at from desk had heads stuck in phones. Sad state compared to our first visit which was ...

Captain Cook Motor Lodge
We only went for Breakfast on our day of departure and was just expecting Toast and Coffee as requested. So wasn't expecting 2 toasted sandwiches with Eggs and Cheese and some onions. Also not used to eating a small salad for Breakfast so only ate the tiny red onion.

Waikanae Beach Motel
Friendly welcome. Clean room. Fully-equipped. Was able to park outside my room. Handy to the beach, and to a cafe that opened early in the day.
