Located inside the original Roman city, Alemanys 5 is a unique property whose main building dates from the sixteenth century. Its restoration integrates old and new, with sober, clean lines that celebrate essential elements such as space, light, shade, fire, stone, water, nature and silence.

A small and charming city away from the crowds but close to pristine beaches, magnificent forests and unspoiled nature spots, Girona is an ideal choice for family vacations, romantic getaways, good food lovers, culture connoisseurs or high-performance cyclists.

The Alemanys 5 house can be rented as a single large home (5 bedrooms), but it can also be divided into two independent apartments: El Badiu (3 bedrooms) and El Jardí (2 bedrooms).

We loved staying at this new and modern home in an ancient building in the oldest part of the city. Excellent location near the cathedral, this house has been lovingly restored. It's stocked with all the appliances and conveniences you could ever need and the hosts were very responsive and helpful. The outside deck with fireplace is amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Rarely do you find a place that is so functional and so well designed in a part of a city that is as central to what makes the city special. Add to this a concierge to help with restaurants and local knowledge and you have a the key ingredients for a wonderful stay in Girona. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Badiu. It's in a great, 'old' part of Girona that is barely accessible to cars. I would consider the property architecturally significant in how the owner has rehabilitated a very old building in to a modern living space. So many details of the living space are really well thought out and executed.

We stayed for 3 nights, but wished it had been longer. The apartment was amazing. Beautifully crafted spaces within an old building. It felt as though we were truly living in the centre of Girona. Walking distance from everything but very private at the same time. Montse was extremely helpful in settling us in and making our stay so special. Highly recommended.

It might be the most beautiful vacation apartment I've ever rented--it is perfection. Location is unbeatable, the decor and renovation of the space were done with exquisite taste and attention to detail, everything is comfortable, well thought out, luxurious but still functional. We were very happy here, great little cafe in the square right outside the door plus a short walk to all of Girona's sights and lots of great restaurants. The owner and property manager were outstanding in their communication and care.

Amazing modern space within the old medieval part of town. Everything is perfect: views, location, bathrooms, beds, stocked kitchen, management, offered parking, comfortable furnishings, etc. I can't say enough positive things about the apartment. By far one of my best experiences. They were flexible about our check in time. Met us at the apartment and provided a lovely basket of healthy food, coffees and teas. Gave us information and a map about the city. Met us when we checked out. Finding the apartment was a fun challenge made easier by directions including photos leading us to the apartment. Having a car was a challenge but we managed. I whole heartedly recommend this place.

Wonderful spot to take in Girona. Greeting was wonderful and very helpful. Great place for adults to enjoy or older families. There are stairs so careful for small babies or elderly people who would have trouble climbing steps in this part of Girona. Amazing architecture!

our 4 days in girona were a preamble to a week in barcelona, a vacation present for our son who is a huge barca fan. the town of girona is lovely and a great starting point for exploring the costa brava. the townhouse is spectacular. the old tower is very cool, and the conversion to a modern apartment is very artistic and sensitive. we have stayed in many 5 star hotels throughout the world, and this ranks up there with them. we will be coming again. thanks for a great stay.

We were greeted by Montse Ollé, the friendly administrator of the property, who was waiting at the apartment when we arrived. She informed us of everything we needed to know about the apartment and was eager to answer any questions we had. The apartment is split on two floors with the living room/kitchen on the top floor of the house and the bedrooms below. The entire apartment is furnished with high quality items, including Miele/Bosch appliances, a marble kitchen counter-top, a centrally-controlled Bose stereo system and comfortable sheets and linens. There are four (very clean) bathrooms in the apartment, three of which with showers in each bedroom. The main bathroom also has a tub. There is a fireplace in the living room and directly on the other side of the wall on the balcony, which enables one to keep warm outside. The view from the living room and balcony is magnificent, directly facing the university and the Convent de Sant Domènec. The Cathedral of Girona is just a few meters away and there are numerous ancient paths from the apartment to the old city. If one doesn't want to hear the church bells at night, one should use earplugs. We stayed in the apartment for one week from February 4 to February 11. The weather was nice, having rained only one night. But it was quite cold with temperatures going down to about 2 degrees Celsius. The heating in the apartment was adequate. But it wouldn't have been had the weather been any colder. There were enough blankets and we could have used the fireplace. The apartment was expensive, considering the prices of other apartments in the area. But it was worth it. There were only two (minor) problems with the apartment. There were some dirty dishes in the sink when we arrived and a wet mop in the kitchen closet that didn't smell so good. All in all, our experience was very good, and we would highly recommend this property to anybody looking for a high-end apartment in Girona.

¡Este departamento no puede ser más lindo! Lo que han logrado es una maravilla: un balance perfecto entre historia y modernidad. Si el interior es armónico, cálido, acogedor ... con cada detalle pensado y ejecutado a la perfección, el exterior no es menos espectacular. Y Montse estuvo allí para guiarnos y ayudarnos en todo lo que necesitamos. Lo único que lamentamos es habernos quedado tan pocos días.

It really does not get any better than this place. The location is perfect and the house could not be better. We were met by the property manager at check in and they went over all the details of the property and even recommended restaurants and showed us where we could get groceries.The owner even called later to make sure everything was ok. The house itself is wonderful, beautiful stone and metal with very modern touches. It is very comfortable and a great place to relax after a long day.

My husband and I and one other couple rented the three bedroom townhouse portion of this property for 6 nights in September. I had read all the reviews and seen the photos. It does not disappoint. My husband is an architect of 30 years experience and its often challenging for him when we travel as he sees the design flaws in everything. There was absolutely nothing he found wanting in this townhouse. It is simply stunning. Very elemental, stone, wood, steel and glass. But there was nothing sterile or staged about the house. It was extremely comfortable to live in. It really felt like staying in someone's home. The location is simply magic. It is located in the heart of the old city, right off a beautiful quiet little square surrounded by a medieval church and the University of Girona's campus located in restored historic buildings off the square. The large balcony overlooks the square. A wonderful place to sit and have a glass wine in the evenings. The house manager Montse was excellent - very helpful on every front. It was hard to leave.
