Located in Karankawa townhomes on the West End, this spacious home sleeps 4 with two bedrooms and three baths. Please note this property does not have stainless appliances or hard surface counters, hence the lower rates. It is a fun, family friendly home!

Enjoy this fun coastal townhouse, with two decks, a great view of Gulf and a short walk to the beach! Located in Karankawa townhomes on the West End, this spacious home sleeps 4 with two bedrooms and three baths.

This two-story home offers plenty of space for a small family or group of friends to enjoy some island time. Bring your bikes and beach toys and store them in the large storage room downstairs. After a fun day at the beach, rinse off at the outdoor shower and then enjoy an evening of relaxation on one of the decks.

Please note: This vacation rental is a comfortable retreat with an ocean view, however, it has not been updated with stainless appliances or granite counter tops, and this is reflected in the nightly rate. Owner is making updates as possible.

Located on the West End of the island and just a short drive to town and most local attractions!
-Seven Seas Grocery is .2 miles away, or a five-minute walk, to pick up groceries, including a full meat market, along with wine, beer and ice.
-Nate's Westend Seafood and Steaks (a local favorite) is located next door to Seven Seas Grocery.
-The Galveston Island State Park is only 2.9 miles.
-Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn Waterpark are 12.1 miles away.
-14.4 miles to The Historic Pleasure Pier amusement park.

Vendors have access to the homes on their scheduled day. Service days have the possibility of changing.
Service days have the possibility of changing and do occur up to two times a week.
A laundry bag will be dropped off 1-2 days prior to departure. No need to worry, please leave it where it has been placed.
This rental property is not used for Nuisance Parties or Unlawful Gatherings. 6 adult maximum plus their dependent children are allowed at the property.
For your safety and security, there may be public-facing cameras installed on the property.
Unauthorized late check-out will incur a penalty of $150 + tax
There is a late check out fee of $75.00 + tax if available, and authorized.
Early check-in IF available is $75.00 + tax

We do our best to ensure guests have a 5-star experience. Guests will be provided with a start-up supply of household items such as laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc so that upon check-in you do not need to run to the store. My daughter's soccer team play in the Beach tournament and this condo meet all our needs. It had a few details that needed to be addressed in the kitchen but otherwise was great.

Loved the place and location. The only issues were thr plug ins in the bathrooms didn’t work...and we tried the switches. If there is a trick to this it would be nice to know. The shower in the small bathroom was set so it wouldn't run hot. The sound bar for the TV didn't have batteries...but luckily we figured it out and there were batteries in the drawer. A description of how to work it and connect may be helpful to others. The lawn furniture on the deck was dirty so we hauled it downstairs ti hose it off. One of the Adirondack chairs was broken when we got there...that should be discarded. The tub in the main bath wouldn't drain unless the stopper was held up. You have to watch the toaster or your toast will burn...no matter the setting. Just FYI...there are bird building a home under the building. Overall...we had a great time!

This weekend I message the property manager more than my family in a week. About the storage room with rats and rats poop (I sent pictures).The fridge is all rusty and one side. The wifi very unstable.The tv didn't work until somebody came to work on it and we work on sound after. The main bedroom doesn't have curtains so the mornings were to early for a vacation. The grill was clean so we decided to eat outside but something changed our minds, was the foul smell coming from the concrete floor under the house staircase, some water was coming out and smell terrible. So before we left and checked the binder with the rules and two hours after I received an email with differents clean up instructions. We invited our friends to stay with us and wasn't what we expect.

This was somewhat of a last minute booking, so we were pleasantly surprised to find a place with a reasonable rate. Even though it's on the 3rd row from the beach, you still see the surf in between and underneath the houses in front, and it was a nice scenic view. The kids loved all the places in or outside the house to be on their own. Really easy walk to the beach through the public path straight ahead. We used the included heady duty steel wagon to haul our stuff to the beach. Everything was clean and functional with a seaside vibe. We'll book it again next time we travel to Galveston.

This is the perfect spot for a get-away! Plenty of room for cooking and family time. You can see the beach between the houses and when you load up your beach gear into the large wagon in the storage closet, you will be on the sand in a few minutes! The beach is just for residents so every time we went, we had a big section of the beach all to ourselves! The outdoor shower even has hot water, so it was easy to keep the sand outside. We can't wait to go back!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Double Decker. We love the location, close to a quieter beach, and conveniently close to a beach access: only a two-minute walk to the sand. We love the beachy decor as well as the ocean view and relaxing sound you can enjoy from any of the three decks. The kitchen would benefit from some upgrading, but it does have everything we need to cook nice meals plus a few extras (both Keurig-type and drip coffee makers, blender, potato masher, grater…). The administrators were very quick to respond and very helpful when we needed.

This one is a jem! It is even better in person. We drove past all the crowded beaches and were delighted to have this beach all to ourselves! The house was clean and decorated so cute! With the big wheeled wagon under the house, we easily pulled all our stuff to the beach in minutes. We cant wait to go back!

We walked out the back door and swam in the ocean everyday from the backyard! Location location location. The birds were beautiful. We put our chairs in the water daily and just relaxed making sand castles best family times! Awesome kind neighbors super sweet! Beautiful morning runs on the beach. Ghost crab hunting with flash lights at night and even saw some fireworks during our beach night walks. Incredible stay at this awesome location. Book it. So fun! Great stay! :-)

This was a great spot to stay. House was good with plenty of room for us. Good amount of kitchen items but not tons of plates/bowls. For a longer stay id prefer more of those. Plus a recommendation to have kid safe dishware. 3 minute walk to the beach was great. They had a big cart to haul our gear down. And outdoor shower was even heated. Some of the house isn’t updated but that’s fine by us. Plenty of soap and shampoo. Had some communication with the agency and they were respectful and helpful. We’d stay here again!

The townhouse was very clean and comfortable and close to the beach. We picked this location because cars can’t drive on that portion of the beach and we were traveling with our 1 year old. We did bring a baby gate to contain him on the top floor, but other than that it was a good space for a little one.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We had a minor issue with the access code upon arrival but the property manager was easy to reach and was super helpful, so it was quickly taken care of. We had everything we needed here, plenty of space, and great views from all the decks! Also, the beach was just a quick 2 minute walk. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at this cute townhome in Jamaica Beach. It is a short walk to the beach in a much less busy area of Galveston’s beaches compared to the Seawall (about 20 minutes away). If you want a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is it—but still accessible to the city when you want to enjoy the pier, seawall, fisherman’s wharf, etc. We enjoyed it so much that we will probably be back soon.

The location of this townhome was amazing! The beach is about a three-minute walk and wasn't crowded at all even for a high-traffic weekend (Father's Day). I loved being able to see the ocean from the deck. It's very cute and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We did wish there were a table outside for eating (even a small one for holding water/drink glasses!), and the TV was incredibly difficult to use -- four remotes and no instructions. While we weren't there to watch TV, it would have been nice during the afternoon between beach visits. Maybe there wasn't even cable? Kitchen is adequately supplied, but a cutting board and working can opener would be useful for a beach house.

Overall a nice place to stay. However the space definitely needs updating. Also, property complex has major drainage issues. After a lot of rain, I couldn’t get to the beach unless I walked through a foot of water. But it definitely served our purpose.

We arrived and my heart nearly stopped from the shock of what I saw when we walked in. A washing machine in the middle of the room. Holes in walls. Filthy. The pictures I took say it all. I was SO ANGRY, and just totally shocked. I’m normally a very calm person. I started shaking and my heart was beating very fast. I called the emergency contact number a few times and finally reached the president of the property manager company. She apologized. To my surprise, she told me she already knew exactly what it looked like!! Then she told me something false— that they had tried to contact me. Then she also texted me fraudulent screen shots of someone’s phone or application trying to convince me they had called me when no one had. No calls or voicemails or any correspondence about the situation at all. Just a near heart attack upon arrival. She agreed to give our money back. She also got the housekeeper out to clean which helped a lot. Both she and the contractors did their best, we’re very nice, and felt terrible for our situation. It is important to note that the ice storm responsible for the damage occurred over a month ago, so it was very sketchy that no one told me anything or rebooked me. They had a month to do it!! If I were the owner of this beautiful beach condo, I would fire this property manager immediately and tell everyone else to do the same. The sad thing is that I’d love to stay in the house again, but I will never do business with Soar Vacation Rentals again.
