Desert's Edge Fruita

Desert's Edge provides an authentic Fruita experience to all seeking an outdoor Colorado adventure. Fruita is known for its world-famous mountain biking trails and outdoor adventures. Desertā€™s Edge Fruita is centrally located to all the action. We hope to highlight these and more Fruita attractions for you to explore during your stay. This unique property is a 4 acre oasis on the edge of downtown Fruita and the North desert trails. The Little Salt Wash runs through the property and provides lots of shade and single track walking paths, all on private property for you to enjoy. It is perfect for walking dogs, sipping coffee or relaxing in the shade near the water. Explore the unique niches around the wash which is designated as a wildlife corridor.
There is a large locked shed for gear and bike storage including a bike stand and work bench near the parking. This area includes an all day shady fenced in dog yard with a dog house. The fire pit, staging area and general hanging out spot in near the shed as well. Parking is off the street be-hind a privacy fence. A big grassy private front yard and several sitting areas around the house are also provided. Explore, relax and enjoy your stay at this hidden oasis. I live on the property in the back (east) part of the house. If there is anything I can help you with, please feel free to ask

I just love this place. It is so peaceful, and all the beautiful pottery and artwork throughout the guesthouse is amazing! Itā€™s everything that you would need for a quiet place to relax. The little enclosed dog area is excellent and my dogs thoroughly enjoyed it.

The house was lovely and comfortable. I appreciated the electric heat pump, recycling and compost. We sat outside to enjoy tea or snacks and listened to the birds and the stream nearby. The local artwork in the house was lovely and gave a nice feel for the artist community in Fruita.

Quaint, rustic place by a little stream. We ordered Indian food delivery and it was delish! Safe, clean, stay. Air conditioning worked great! Lots of light. The dog yard is separate from the house but super easy/convenient non the less. Would stay again!

WOW!! This is one of the nicest, cleanest, cute places we have stayed, and we have stayed quite a few places! So much was provided we really only needed to bring our food! Kitchen had everything we needed to cook, including spices. No oven, but there is a large toaster oven and really, who wants to bake on vacation anyway? The bathroom is really nice and large, plenty of hot water. The bedroom is separate from the main room and bed was very comfortable. Very quite. Karen has done a great job of making the place comfortable. Hope to be back next year!

Deserts Edge is an idyllic place to stay while visiting the Fruita, Colorado area. The property is like a little hide away. There are trails to explore right out the door, a cozy firepit and, a fenced area for the four-legged companion. Karen, the host, has thought of everything to make your stay most memorable.

This is such a wonderful property so close to downtown and a short drive to mountain bike trails and restaurants. Karen is a lovely host who was super quick with communication and ensured we had everything we needed. The property is full of space for hanging out, walking around and relaxing. Deserts Edge is an incredible stay. The photos - while good on the website - donā€™t do it justice. There is a well stocked kitchen (and a plus that its stocked with Karenā€™s beautiful pottery), lovely living space to sit in, super comfortable bed and big bathroom with a great shower. There is even a desk area to sit and work or write. The windows give access to garden views or front yard views with big trees. There was plenty of cool air going through the whole house to keep me so comfortable at night when days were hot. Karen welcomed me and was available anytime I needed something. It felt like I had my own home - yet I had access to the property manager within a few steps or phone call if needed. Karen has decorated and created the home like someone lives in it. Itā€™s simple and warm, beautifully placed art and pottery, well crafted workmanship in the construction of the rooms. The home is walking distance to the downtown area but at the same time itā€™s on the edge of town where there is a bit more space and room. I highly recommend Desertā€™s Edge. Iā€™m already sharing about it with friends.

I canā€™t say enough good things about Desertā€™s Edge. The property is lovely. The home is cozy, beautiful, and cool (it was HOT outside!). Karen is an outstanding host. The place had tons of local art that is available for purchase, which was awesome. Plus she provides tons of information about the community, trails, local stores (Lithic Bookstore was amazing!). I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My husband and our two dogs stayed overnight at the Desertā€™s Edge. We had a great night! Desertā€™s Edge is the perfect place to stay! Itā€™s far enough away from town that itā€™s quiet, but close enough to a wide range of food options. Thereā€™s a great area for dogs that is completely secure. You also have access to a walking trail along a creek, so if you like natureā€¦this is the property for you! Also, the host is a wonderful artist, and there is gorgeous artwork everywhere in the house! We would definitely love to stay here again!
