WHY STAY ANYWHERE ELSE?
This accessible cabin is 23âx15â with dramatic 18â ceilings, a queen bed with giant windows overlooking the woods, a full, accessible bathroom (toilet, sink, and a stupidly luxurious roll-in shower) a sleeper sofa with an actually comfortable queen foam mattress, and a small kitchenette (sink, countertop, mini refrigerator, dishes, silverware, basics for cooking, kettle, and tea). This cabin comes supplied with linens for the queen bed (sheets, down comforter, and pillows), linens for the sleeper sofa (sheets, pillows, and blankets) and towels for four. The layout of the bed and dining table can be adjusted depending on access needs. The cabin also has an outdoor seating area with four Adirondack chairs, an accessible picnic table and fire ring (w/ integrated grill), and bistro lights for evening ambience. The front and back entrances to the cabin are equipped with ramps. This cabin has been designed just like our other Haven cabins, but with some minor differences to ensure it can be enjoyed by all! Whether you book it for access needs or not, there is no better place to unwind.
The cabin is located in the recently renovated campground at the Desert of Maine, an iconic tourist attraction established in 1926. The campground is small, quiet, and serene, surrounded by tall northern pines at the edge of the Desertâs rolling sand dunes which were deposited there at the end of the last ice age. The tourist attraction includes fascinating exhibits about the history, ecology, geology of the Desert, activities for kids, a train ride, mini golf, and much more. Campground guests enjoy free access to the dunes after hours, and discounted tickets for mini golf and general admission for daytime visits. Come to the place Where Wanderers Unwind.
Guest Access:
You will have the entire cabin on a dedicated campsite, all to yourself. In addition, you will have access to our renovated, cedar bath house which is just steps away, with individual showers. However, please note that the bath house is an older building which is not accessible.
