Won our vote!
We reserved this place over a year in advance, after our prayer group voted on 5 different vrbo properties…and this beautiful log home won! We loved this place. I’ve stayed at several vrbo properties and this place was the best for a full kitchen with all needed supplies, utensils, etc. We cooked all our meals here and never had to improvise on needed kitchen items. The location was beautiful, private, and perfect for our small group. We were so impressed with Lance’s quick response to any questions we had. Very clean home. Excellent stay.

Our stay couldn't have been more perfect
We just left the property less than a week ago, and we're already planning on the next trip. Honestly, the stay couldn't have been more perfect for girls weekend. We loved the location - quiet and secluded, yet so close to so many cute towns. (Be sure to stop at the Chattering Squirrel in Siren for coffee and a quick bite) We loved the coziness of the main level living area with the fireplace - perfect to snuggle up with a good book, some yarn or just a cup of coffee. While the dining table was a great size for sharing a meal, we found ourselves standing in the kitchen and snacking while we used the table for some hot card games. Speaking of games - you couldn't possibly be bored here - so many fun things provided to play! (many hot games of RummiKub were played) We appreciated the basket of blankets too - perfect for a chilly morning by the fire or downstairs enjoying a movie together with a glass of wine. The bedrooms were decorated with beautiful quilts and the beds were very comfortable. Talking to Lance upon departure, I couldn't help but feel like I was talking to family. His family has a beautiful property that is so lovingly shared with the rest of us - we honestly can't wait to go back.

Glad you all had a wonderful time. Id like to think we treat all our guest like family. We strive to do the little things to set us apart from other rental properties. We have some exciting outdoor areas coming this next year..including a spot down by the river. Come back and join us again. We also decorate for the Holidays Thanksgiving weekend thru the end of January..why clean your house, paint walks for a family gathering? Come have a country Christmas in Wisconsin. Fall Colors
Fantastic property in a nice secluded location. We really wanted to stay longer to enjoy the area and the beautiful fall colors. Plenty of space to gather and stay under one roof without feeling crowded. It's obvious the host is attentive to detail. We have family in the area, so we will definitely be back.

Relaxing and away from it all!
The cabin overlooks a rushing trout stream, a wonderful sound to hear as you relax on the deck. The house is spacious with comfortable furniture and a well outfitted kitchen. The location is remote, and has lovely quiet walking areas in mature woods. The nearby town of Siren offers dining out or other ammenities needed.

Weekend retreat
This beautiful property is a hidden treasure! Thank goodness the owner posted written directions saying that Google maps sends you to the wrong address, because we were driving in the rain, in the dark and our phone wouldn't work. After several wrong turns, we got there and loved our stay.

Getaway
This was a great property to stay at. We loved sitting on the porch listening to the creek. Beds were very comfortable. Only sad part was the creek was not right by the cabin. It is down a steep hill. You can't really see it or walk to it, you can just hear it.

Guys Weekend
We had an awesome stay for guys weekend. Plenty of room for 10 of us with short drives to shooting range and multiple golf courses. Lots of outdoor cooking options and plenty of parking. 100 percent will stay again

Great cabin for our family vacation!
The cabin was perfect for our family vacation. The pictures were a great representation. We had a great time spending time on the deck and with the shuffle board table. The owner was very responsive and made the trip easier. Highly recommend this cabin!

Gals Getaway
My friends and I hosted a weekend getaway/relaxed celebration for my best friend and bride-to-be in July at the cabin. It was perfect for all 7 of us! There was enough sleeping room to fit all of us very, very comfortably. We appreciated the abundance of restrooms, too. The cabin is very secluded, much more so than I would have imagined. This made early mornings sitting out on the deck incredibly peaceful. We also saw a lot of wildlife--including a bear out on a trek down the road (luckily it saw us and ran)! It's a true little getaway into nature with all the modern necessities and comforts one may need. I liked, and you may also appreciate, how large the house is and all the sitting room and seats throughout the cabin both inside and outside, the driveway alarm that alerts arrivals, and how tucked away and secluded the place is. The only downfall that some might not like is that you do have to trek a ways around on either side to the back of the cabin to get to the firepit and cannot access that from the deck (it is right below the back deck, though, as seen in the pictures). There are a lot of fun things to do nearby if you're willing to drive. We even managed to find a lake in a nearby town to go swimming thanks to a friendly local! The host is also super responsive including working with one of our guests to get a left behind item back to her. I would love to come back to this cabin again!

Great northern WI getaway
A perfect home with plenty of a space for our group of 11 (9 adults 2 kids). The bedrooms were all a good size and had comfortable mattresses. The 3.5 bathrooms were perfect. Plenty of towels and amenities. The home is clean and updated with lots of places to gather. Highly recommended!!

Thank you Mike for the great review. You are welcome back anytime. We also do a "Country Christmas " from the weekend after Thanksgiving thru January. Why have everyone at your home when we do it all for you...tree, decorations ect. ...just bring the food and your family..check it out.

Family vacation
Excellent communication and response time from Lance. Loved the privacy and beautiful setting in the woods.The river on the property was an added bonus that provided a natural playground. The cabin was beautiful and spacious providing all the needed room and amenities for our big group.

Thank you Ann for the great review! Hopefully that bear moves on from the dumster. Just so you know we also decorate the cabin up for the Holidays. Is you or someone you know want to host a " Country Christmas " have them book a stay between the weekend after Thanksgiving and tge end of January.

Absolute beautiful Solitude
First of all, this property is incredible. The pictures don’t do the place justice. It can be tricky getting to so follow those instructions that Lance provides! We watched movies, sat and had coffee on the porch, walked to the creek, had a fire, stayed up late, slept in, watched the sunrise, played board games, danced, had a BBQ, made breakfast on the flat top, played water games. It was the perfect getaway vacation for our family-we thank you for opening your home to us. Hope to be back again next year.

Amazing place for a group of friends or family
We had family all together for youngest brother’s wedding in Frederic, WI and this house worked great. Wedding was at the golf course and reception was at the 300 club and the house was about 6 miles away. Plenty of space for our group of 7 adults and 2 teens. We played yard games and walked to the river as well as got some golf in. Communication with the host Lance was great with quick replies to questions. We would definitely book again.

2023 week long snowmobile trip
This was our first experience snowmobiling in North West Wi. Usually we stay some where in the UP. but this year opted for something new and different. We have always club tripped the central snow belt all the way over to the North East. If you are looking for an amazing place to ride with breathless views around every corner this is your place. The hospitality in this area is second to none we are a very avid group of riders so the fact that there are few taverns along the way reduces the amount of traffic as compared to the snow belt. As far as the facility is concerned there is nothing left at the table the house is very well equipped to easily accommodate 11 adults. The owners see to it that this will be a place that feels like home. We always eat breakfast and dinner out of the house and there is a fully supplied kitchen two grills and a gas griddle to fulfill all of your cooking needs. The fireplace is an amazing place to just sit in piece recapping your day and planning your next days adventures the lack of a t.v. on this floor actually adds to the experience opening up the desire to enjoy each others company without distraction or to sit back and enjoy a good book! We went for a walk and met a neighbor who was able to share some neat insight on the bordering property while welcoming us to the neighborhood by sharing some of his favorite places to stop.

Winter wonderland resort
This place was AMAZING !! Super clean. Big. Beautiful. A group of girls were out in the area to snowshoe the ice age trail. Perfect place to unwind and relax after a day out in nature. Beds were super comfortable!! We loved this place and would definitely go back !

A great winter getaway!
A very nice cabin in the woods - plenty of space around for kids to play outside in the snow and downstairs in the basement. Clean and cozy bedrooms. Loved the fireplace too!

Awesome Cabin!
I booked this for a group of 8 high school friends. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and spacious. We had everything we needed and had a great time! A place I would go back to in the area!!

Secluded get away!
This beautiful cabin is anyone one could hope for if you're searching for privacy and gorgeous surrounding then this is the place for you. It was a little hard to find because I didn't listen to the directions and tried my GPS, but that was on me and not them!

Glad you enjoyed your stay! You're not the first person who has got lost trying to find it..that's what makes it such a quite place. Some GPS units are accurate and others are not, that is why I always attach directions in the welcome letter. Glad you found it and got to relax a little :)

Nice place to stay.
Great place to stay. However, there was no tv on the main level. I had my 82 year old parents and hard for them to go up and down the stairs. They love watching the news in the morning. Just would be a nice suggestion. Otherwise, very clean and amazing place.

We really enjoyed our time here. Very clean, quiet and inviting. We loved the “out in the woods” feel! The boys had a great time on the ATV trails and the girls enjoyed swimming at crooked lake. We would definitely love to come back!

This property is ideal for a private getaway. The wooded surroundings make for an ideal peaceful experience. The home is ideal for a family vacation, with numerous relaxation spaces and sleeping areas that can accommodate many people. The wrap around porch provides multiple spots for morning coffee or evening beverages. The game room downstairs offers fun entertainment options. The nearby bike trail is a nice experience, and there are several close communities for additional fun.

Paradise
To get to this wonderful private property you wind through some lovely wooded roads and feel like you are the only people in the world once you get there. The house is tucked into the woods, with a babbling brook below and it is so nice to relax and listen to it while enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The house is huge, and very tastefully decorated. There is plenty of space for people to spread out and the open concept made it easy to gather, cook and enjoy being together. The kitchen had a lot of things for cooking, and many spices. We didn't lack anything. The beds were comfortable. The only issue was the bed in the master bedroom is quite tall and getting into it for a short person took some gymnastics. A bench or chair in the bedroom would have been helpful, too, especially for older people. The bathrooms worked well, and the water pressure was good in the showers. We did have an issue with toilet paper. All the bathrooms had partial rolls in them and there wasn't a back up roll anywhere to be found at 2:30 AM the first morning. We muddled through by stealing the partial rolls from the other 2 bathrooms until we could get to the store in the morning to purchase some. There were cameras outside, which is understandable being in such a remote area, but we were surprised by the one in the house. It wasn't hidden, just unexpected. We loved watching the wildlife around the house. While we loved the house the outdoor area was amazing. We did not use the lower level, but it appeared to be set up for a fun experience. Lance was very quick to answer questions, and gave us some very good suggestions which we truly enjoyed. We didn't have enough time in the area and we all agreed that we would definitely come back again. Thank you Lance for sharing this lovely property with us!

So glad you enjoyed your getaway! I will look into some kind of stool to assist into getting into the master bed, it is a little tall. I apologize for the Toilet paper issue, ive talked with my house cleaner to make sure there is at least two extra rolls in every bathroom, believe it or not...it walks away if you leave to much out, guess there is still a T.P. shortage..who knew.

Absolutely beautiful!
Wow! Very elegant & quite dreamy! We rented Black Bear Lodge for a private graduation / birthday celebration for our youngest son & everyone had a truly marvelous time! The open concept allowed everyone to fit comfortably together & the kitchen was pure joy to cook in! Everyone slept great on the super-comfy beds & I (Mom) spent some much needed time in the jetted tub during our stay... truly blissful!! So peaceful & tranquil here, it was a joy to be nestled in the forest. Our grown kids joined us too & it was wonderful! We highly recommend Black Bear Lodge & look forward to making this an annual visit!

Beautiful space for three generations.

Family weekend
It started out as a place to stay to pack my family’s grandpa’s house. Thought it was gonna b a sad weekend but this place was so beautiful it was actually very relaxing it was the 1st time my entire family was together w no arguments, we will definitely stay again

This property is as described. Spacious with comfortable furniture and comfortable beds. Kitchen stocked with basic cooking needs. Excellent and easy communication with host. Nice cabin getaway
Setting up and renting was very easy. Cabin was beautiful, plenty of room and nice setting. Could have been a little cleaner considering there is a 100.00 cleaning fee. Also thought it was weird we were asked to bring our own towels to cut down on the laundry. Nice but would probably try something else next time!
