Great overnight stay
Great place for overnight stay. Very welcoming host. Just know there is construction on the street and the road closes at certain times at night until October I believe. No breakfast being served but they do have microwave porridge cups.

2 day base camp.
Great value for money & amazing views from the front of the property. Room was spotless & functional, perfect as a base to go exploring! Liz was very approachable & welcoming throughout our stay. Plenty of options for food locally within either a short walk or drive depending on your requirements.

Elizabeth, I thank you for your positive comments, please be aware we are not offering breakfast at this time for personal reasons therefore the porridge pots are purely complimentary and in no way meant to be viewed as a breakfast. The owner, Liz, greeted us warmly and showed us to a lovely room with ensuite. The facilities included everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay. We slept very well. Liz also recommended eating places in walking distance and it was lovely walking along the shores of the Loch to dinner and back.

Perfect for the occasion
Stayed here the night before we climbed Ben Nevis. Has parking which is great, the lady was really friendly. Clean and comfortable and in a cmgood location.

Fantastic for the family
A lovely welcome from start to finish. We had the lovely family room, with a bunk bed for the kids. Lovely view of the loch and just a short trip into the town.

A great little place with a wonderful view! The family room was a little tight for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers and the bathroom even tighter but very clean, quiet and cozy!

Great lakeside bed, decent size room with 2 beds, 1 double and 1 single. Very clean and nice arrangement. The check in was pleasent and we were welcomed by the host.

Hidden Gem!
Alton side guest house was everything we could have asked for. It was clean, tidy and functional and well worth the money. The views were spectacular and the guest house was a short walk away from local amenities. Would definitely recommend!

Brilliant location & view from the front of the property. The town centre is only 5 minutes away by car. Friendly Host and very clean and homely property. Excellent all around, the wife loved it so did I. Highly recommended

Small room but clean, we were unhappy with no public space to sit and breakfast was instant coffee and instant oatmeal left in our room, period. We know it’s covid but this was pretty unacceptable, we should have gotten a discount because of it

I am sorry you did not understand the situation that you would have been aware of when you booked your accommodation. The offer was for room only, no breakfast. The porridge pots are complimentary and not considered a full breakfast. Also the unlimited tea and coffee is complimentary which you do not receive in many places. Pleasant surroundings, very clean and well organised. Only issue was porridge pots for breakfast and cold shower. Sadly soured a nice visit.

Sir, the accommodation offered is room only this year, the porridge pots are complimentary. I did apologise to you personally about the lack of hot water and explained it was my oversight, because the weather was so hot I had turned off the heating temporarily and forgot to put on the water heater. The nicest accommodation we had stayed in during our 2 weeks in Scotland! So lovely and homely and host available at all times! Close to Ben Nevis, 10 minute drive.
