What a gem
The hosts were lovely and easy to reach. We had to reschedule within 24 hours due to COVID. Cathy, couldn't have been more helpful and responsive. The house was clean, cute, and very comfortable. Our kids loved walking around the property and found a swing. I would highly recommend to anyone with a family looking for a sweet place to stay.

Coastal Calm
We escaped the holiday frenzy for a peaceful retreat amongst the leafy greenery. The large garden and plentiful trees made for a secluded, restful trip, with the sound of frogs in the pond to serenade us at night. The house suited our needs well and we enjoyed staying there.

Well equipped rustic cabin
Beautiful setting, for a well equipped rustic cabin. Just a couple of blocks from Highway 1, but felt like being secluded in the woods.

Comfortable and Convenient
We enjoyed our stay at the house. It is very clean, quiet, has everything you need, and the location is perfect--- between Fort Bragg and Mendocino, a block off Highway 1.(But traffic noise is not an issue). Plenty of privacy; no other houses in sight from the house. It was not cold enough for us to fire up the wood stove, but there was plenty of wood and it would be so cozy on a rainy winter evening! The central heating worked great to take the chill off. The kitchen is more than amply supplied with what we needed to prepare several meals. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed a relaxing stay here in the spacious living room for reading and relaxing, enjoying the back deck, and the beds were very comfortable. Also, very conveniently located to Mendocino and Ft. Bragg.

This place exceeded expectations - beautifully appointed home that feels like a cabin with all the amenities you would like, plus more. Wood burning stove, nice outdoor grills (gas and charcoal), large private yard. Nice walk to ocean. Loved it!

Love this home! This is our second visit. Will definitely visit again. The location is perfect. Beautiful property and comfortable house! We love sitting on the patio playing games and reading. Deer visited us twice that we know of. We had a great time!

Nice getaway cabin
Thank you Matt and Cathy for sharing your cabin yet again. Cabin is clean, has everything needed for a family getaway. Vegetation around the cabin creates good privacy barrier. 3 min drive to a lovely jug handle beach. Great stay!

Great location and cozy house
We really enjoyed our time at this house. We were gone most days to explore Mendocino and Fort Bragg but in the evenings hung out in the house playing card games and doing puzzles we brought with us. In the mornings the kids and I would explore the property, it was beautiful and quite large for us city dwellers.

Calm and beautiful
Our family was excited from the moment we pulled in to the drive. Pulling off the main road we felt hidden away in our own little area. We saw a momma dear and her baby everyday and occasionally a fox! Plus all the beautiful birds. Location was perfect. Close to Fort Bragg, beaches, trails, and ocean views. Beds were sooo comfy, place was clean and had everything we needed and more. We didn't want to leave!

This is my heaven on earth. I adore this place. Wonderful place to stay. The location is amazing and the house is charming. We go every year! Beds are comfortable. Yard is amazing. Plenty of space.

Totally met all our needs and beyond!
The moment we entered the Jug Handle VRBO we felt right at home. The house was so spacious and had lots of room for our family of three. We also appreciated that the owners thought of just about everything. There were even extra personal items in case we forgot something. We had gone to the store to buy paper towels, oatmeal, conditioner, etc. only to find that they were already provided. We really enjoyed the king size bed, which was so comfortable! I would also like to note that it was easy to enter the house with only three steps. Parking was right at the front door. Would definitely return to Matt and Kathy’s home whenever we are in California again.

Perfect place to relax!
The house was very centrally located but also very private. Super easy to get to all of the activities we had planned in the area. Directions provided were great and the house was not hard to find- even though we arrived late the first night. The yard was beautiful, and we really enjoyed being outside on the wrap around porch! The amount of space inside the house was perfect and could have accommodated far more than just the 3 of us. Check in and check out were a breeze. Only issue was that I wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfection at Jughead Cove
This place was a wonderful spot for my two grown sons and I to enjoy a few days to enjoy each other's company which we don't get to do very often. Although this house was only several hundred yards off Hwy 1, you'd never know it, as the place is surrounded by redwoods, cedars and very large rhododendrons, giving you the feeling that you're in this secluded cabin in the woods. The interior of the house was fabulous, with it's wood paneling, open beams, fireplace and great decor. Matt and Kathy thought of absolutely everything as far as stocking the place was concerned. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Thank you.

Perfect Cabin
Enjoyed our vacation in this lovely and private cabin. Had fires every night and loved the sound of the rain and thunderstorms on the metal roof. Cabin has well equipped, clean and comfortable. Nice that it was a very short drive to our favorite places to eat in Fort Bragg. Will plan to stay again in the future.

Second time staying in this cabin. Same experience: clean, easy check-in, lovely property. The only thing is that the ocean is across the highway / but that cannot be changed . Overall - very happy about the property. Great for a bunch of kids / if traveling with family and friends . Will be coming back.

Rustic bliss in charming Ft. Bragg
Jughandle is a spacious, comfortable cabin nestled on a beautiful botanic property near the ocean and town of Ft. Bragg. The cabin layout is extremely conducive to entertaining, family meals or quiet time. The bedrooms are lovely and linens are high quality. There is a pack and Play on-site! And we used it! The kitchen and great room adjoin a large deck with forest views. The deck is primed for a BBQ, cocktail hour, dining al fresco and morning coffee. Birds are abundant and cheerful. Many thanks to Cathy and Matt for providing such a special, well-equipped and homey retreat for my small Thanksgiving gathering. We left replete and very grateful! I would recommend Jughandle to anyone I know!

Lovely stay! Didn't want to leave! Highly recommend!
The house has the feel of a cosy cabin in the woods with none of the drawbacks. It is beautifully designed and has all the modern amenities while keeping it's cosy charm! The beds are comfortable and so is the furniture in the living room. The owners have stocked the house with everything you could need. We saw two foxes on our deck and raccoons! In the evening, even my two teenage boys put down their phones and stopped watching the large modern TV to sit in the dark and wait to see what animal mind wander by. Communication with Cathy was smooth and pleasant. I would definetly recommend this house.

Everything you are looking for!
This was our second stay at this beautiful home! Every year my family likes to visit the coast and vacation together with our kids . This property truly is a gem and so glad we have been able to stay here together! It so close to beaches as well as downtown Fort Bragg. Cathy and Matt are great at getting back quickly with any questions or concerns you might have. They, also, do an incredible job at keeping the place clean and well stocked. Anything you might need for a getaway (or possibly have forgotten) they have there. The kids LOVED the swing outside and exploring the property. My daughter was thrilled to see deers in the backyard. Looking forward to many more trips and memories made at this property with family!

Little paradise!
It is my 2d stay at this place . I LOVE it. Everything you need is there...."inside and outside" The big " natural " yard feels you are in the middle of the forest. We saw a deer with her baby this time! You don't have neighbours. It is located 5 mn drive from the Jug Handle Natural reserve...amazing views, the pygmee trail and a perfect beach for little chidren who can play all day in the little river . My kind of dream house :-) Will be back...

Amazing!
What a terrific place! The house has just about everything you could possibly need, especially the kitchen. Beds are comfortable, deck and garden are lovely, and we were just sorry that we didn't have more time to sit and enjoy the house. We loved sitting outside and seeing the starry sky both nights -- amazing!

So very relaxing...
The only downside was having found no coffee filters! We knew to bring our own coffee, but couldn't find any filters. So, we bought and left them. Enjoyable, relaxing start to Hubby's retirement.
