Flavor of an historic style apartment, nothing fancy but complete. Great neighborhood; Piazza Gaetano Salvemini and especially the Mercato di SantâAmbrogio were faves.
usually donât write negative reviews, but in this case, I feel itâs important to share our experience so others know what to expect. While the apartmentâs location is excellent, thatâs unfortunately the only positive I can mention. The place was poorly equipped and not clean. We found black mold in the bathroom, and the floors were dirty. Although surfaces at eye level seemed dusted, anything higher was covered in a thick layer of dust that clearly hadnât been cleaned in years. The amenities were disappointing. The provided coffee was undrinkable, and we were given just three tiny bars of soapâhardly enough for a stay of any length. We ended up buying our own soap and shampoo. For the amount we paid, we expected basic essentials to be included, as was listed.Worst of all, my bed was completely broken the first night, and I had to sleep on the floor. Thankfully, my husband was able to fix it, but thatâs not something guests should have to deal with.I would not recommend staying in this apartment unless the owners take full responsibility for cleanliness and provide the level of quality and care promised in their listing.
Shabby Chic in Perfect Location but oh, Those Stairs!
Apartment was much larger than expected (living room, kitchen, bath, equipment storage room- drying rack, iron and ironing board) and bedroom upstairs. Paula and Matthew were wonderful to work with and the place was a short two blocks from the Domo convenient to everything we wanted to do/see. Nice, lively neighborhood east of apartment provided us with a good glimpse of local life. As there was some sort of struggle between taxiâs and Uber we couldnât get ride from main train station but apartment is only about 1.5 miles from station and itâs an easy walk. Now to the stairs: apartment is on what Americans call the second floor but the stairs to it are few and easy but the 14 steps up to the bedroom can be dangerous for older people, out of shape people or anyone with balance problems.
