People outside motel smoking , made us feel uneasy, several people coming in to go to the motels gaming room as i was trying to check in

The staff was very pleasant and the free breakfast was nice and had a decent selection to choose from. The room was spacious but the beds were not super comfortable. My only real complaint was the condition of the bathrooms. Our shower was basically a single stream of water and the fixtures looked like they were barely hanging onto the wall. The bathrooms could definitely use some work. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

We will leave the shower head that could not be switched to tub spout and the TV that was not programmed with the remote out of this review, let's talk about the noisy pipes that banged and clanged during our 2 night stay. The desk was told about it the first morning and I was told that management would have to take care it. The desk was told about it again this morning during checkout and we were asked why we didn't say anything about it the first morning. I explained that we had. Then we were asked if we were offered a room switch. We were not. I thought there just might an offer to discount our stay. We were not. But we did get a "sorry about that". We were not the only ones that complained.

This property had a 8.7 favorable rating so we booked it. We usually find review ratings reliable. This was not the case. When looking over our room, we found multiple stains and leftover crud of some unknown food item on the couch. The chairs were stained as well. The coffee pot was nasty. The bed sheets appeared that they hadnt been washed. The only positive was the young lady checking us in. The free coffee was watered down. We skipped breakfast figuring the kitchen might have resembled our room. The owners must not care about the customers.

Decent little hotel
The hotel is older, but the beds were very comfortable, and the room was clean. The air conditioner made a horrible sound, until my husband examined (and ultimately cleaned) the air filter. Breakfast was good.

Friendly and helpful service by employees. The fly bugs were awful and other guests also complained. The toilet is too close to the wall. Toilet paper hanger was broken. One of the rooms had a terrible shower. Maintenance needs to be looked at and corrected. Carpet should be cleaner. You have to personally request clean towels. Met owner and doesn’t seem to care.

I'm not sure why this hotel gets such great reviews. It is average at best, and overpriced for what it is and the area. Flora is a typical mid west town with little to do. This was a one night stop and we should have chosen a different area to stay. There is nothing outstanding about this hotel or the staff. It wasn't worth the price. Will not stay here again.

The hotel was clean and convenient for visiting my family in Flora, Il. The breakfast was not as good as it was in the past. They served sausage gravy that was cold, and the biscuits were hard and cold. The staff was friendly, and check-in was fast.
