Nellie's Place- Quiet Mtn. Getaway with Scenic View, Wifi, & Community Amenities

Quiet and tranquil 3 bed/2.5 bath house on Walnut Mountain. At Nellie's Place you'll find the main floor with a nice sized kitchen, beautiful dining room, and spacious living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with most of the kitchen supplies you would need. A Keurig and slow drip coffee are provided. There is a large island with two swivel barstools. In the dining room you will find a round table for 6 surrounded by windows. There is even a baby highchair provided. The living room seats 6 and has a 50 inch Smart TV and gas fireplace. The sunroom allows guests to enjoy the beautiful scenery without having to even go outside. There is also an outdoor deck that provides two shade umbrellas, a picnic table, and seating area to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Use the gas grill to make a delicious meal!

The master bedroom on the main floor has a comfy queen bed and private bathroom featuring two sinks, jetted garden tub, and separate shower. Also included in the master bedroom is a 55 inch TV, sitting area, and a private covered balcony to enjoy the mountain views. The main floor also offers a half bath with laundry room attached.

Upstairs you will find a large kids room with a twin daybed and trundle bed beneath. This room also has a 50 inch Smart TV, a kids play table, and a mini crib for a baby. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and sitting area. Located upstairs is a detached full bath with dual shower and tub to be shared by the kids room and the queen bedroom. Last but not least, a game room is located in the loft and includes board games, a card/board game table to seat 4, a foosball table, and bean bags.

All the roads on Walnut Mountain are paved and Nellie’s Place has flat parking area with a portico covering for two vehicles!

At Nellie's Place you are sure to feel rested and rejuvenated as you take in the fresh mountain air! The secluded location offers peace and quiet with plenty of wildlife, especially deer, birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. You'll be just a few minutes drive from complimentary tennis courts with pickleball lines, a basketball court, a playground, and a seasonal pool (open Saturday of Memorial Day weekend in May til Labor Day in September). There are also several lakes on the Walnut Mountain property where you can fish without a license. There is a trout fishing stream at the entrance to Walnut Mountain near the picnic area. (Georgia fishing license with trout stamp required). You will also find several hiking trails on the property and even a small waterfall.

If you need to do some work during your stay we have complimentary wifi able to handle zoom calls and all basic work essential needs. There are several places to work from in the cabin if you needed to find a quiet nook for that important zoom meeting or call as well.

Walnut Mountain is a gated community just outside of Ellijay, Ga and is known for its mountain views on ‘The Ridge.’ It is also historically know for Jimmy Carters retreat where he wrote several books down by Turniptown Creek.

What’s nearby
Downton Ellijay is just a short drive and offers a number of excellent restaurants and antique shops.

Blue Ridge is less than a 30-minute drive and offers the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, great restaurants, boutique shops, and coffee shops.

Amicalola Falls is a 30-minute drive and offers great hiking, picnicking, and of course the falls. If you are truly adventurous, you can hike the 8-mile approach trail to Springer Mountain, where the Appalachian Trail begins. If you desire to stay closer to home, you can also find multiple trails within the Walnut Mountain community.

You can also find white water rafting, tubing, rappelling, golf courses, amazing mountain drives, apple orchards in the fall, and local wineries all at your fingertips.

Pets are welcome on agreement of signing pet addendum and rental agreement. (Maximum two dogs potty trained and left in kennel when left alone. No cats allowed.)

Normal Check In times are between 4pm and 10pm. Host is not liable if there are any issues checking in after 10pm.
