petite chambre , fenêtre donnant sur l'unité de refroidissement qui part et arrête fréquemment 24 h / jour sans moustiquaire qui ne barre pas et qui permet l'accès au intrus très facilement donc pas sécure IMPORTANT; il y a des PUNAISES DE LITS ; je fut réveillé la nuit par ,... il y avait sur mon drap des bestioles qui marchaient ,et quand vous les écrasez , il y a votre sang qui rougit le papier mouchoir dans lequel vous les avez capturés , il y a du vieux tapis corridor et chambres pas de stationnement près..

Nous sommes désolés que vous n'ayez pas apprécié votre séjour chez nous. Étant que nous sommes le plus vieux hôtel à El Paso, nos chambres sont plus petites que vos hôtels typiques aujourd'hui. En ce qui concerne les fenêtres, pour votre sécurité, ils n'ouvrent que quelques centimètres pour éviter que les gens ne sortent sur le toit ou ne pénètrent dans une autre pièce. Vous avez séjourné dans notre auberge est très populaire auprès des voyageurs du monde entier et parfois ils apportent des bugs avec eux. On pulvérise régulièrement pour éviter des problèmes comme celui-ci. Lorsque vous avez signalé votre problème, nous avons remboursé votre séjour et avons eu un contrôle antiparasitaire ici quelques heures pour remédier à cette question. En ce qui concerne le stationnement, nous avons plusieurs options de stationnement à proximité. Le stationnement de l'hôtel en ce moment est à la fin du bloc, le stationnement mesuré est situé dans tout le centre-ville, un valet de 7 $ est à un pâté de maisons et un parking de 3 $ à deux pâtés de maisons.

Walls seem to be paperthin. They told me you could get coffee anytime through the day. You couldn’t the kid that was at the desk when I went to get coffee had cold old coffee just really didn’t seem like he wanted to be there probably upgrade your amenities a little, after all that I love the building 101 years old but as far as everything else customer service whatever was very mediocre

They charged me 100 dollars when they told me the price would be 60.. that is, they charged me 100 dollars for a disturbance with a lot of noise from outside and a shared bathroom. The room also had no television. Very incompetent for such a high price.

Yes, the price does change when there is a room upgrade. But also, the amount mentioned above is not what was charged. Reservé mi habitación con baño PRIVADO e incluso marqué para preguntar si me iban a respetar que fuera así y la señorita me dijo que si, llegando al hotel claramente NO fue así, me dieron una habitación con baño compartido y me dijeron que si quería con baño privado tenía que pagar casi $40 dólares extras.

Hola Ali, Gracias por su comentario. Desasfortunadamente lo que paso fue que la reservacion que llego a nuestro sistema por parte de Expidia era para una habitacion con bano compartido, y es que si en efecto el tipo de habitacion en la que se quedo es mas economica por el echo de que no incluye television y el bano es compartido, por eso son los 40 dolares de diferencia para una habitacion con television y bano privado. Esperamos que tenga felices viajes.

El hotel es pequeño con ambiente de los años 20, muy bonito y acogedor, tiene servicio de cocina self-service muy limpio, wifi y AC, el vecindario es un poco ruidoso y no hay elevadores, pero en general es un buen lugar barato y limpio

As I mentioned on the phone with you, I personally inspected that room before and after your checkout and there was no smell of smoke. We take this matter very serious, since again, it is indeed a non smoking hotel. Great place,
It is a really nice hotel and hostel.The atmosphere and style of the hotel is so amazing the history of the hotel is very cool.I would definitely stay there again..The only odd thing that happened,i left my phone charger and i called the front desk later on that day.The person took my number and said she would call me back after she checked with housekeeping,,she never called me back,so i guess they just kept it.

It boasts a non traditional setting that's unique with memorabilia of the old El Paso. Enlightening. Only two downsides. There is no amenities. Coffee charge, water etc.. No breakfast but u can cook your own. And a desk clerk whoa relentless on spraying the entrance room constantly with aerosols that's very, very cringy to the point you leave the seating area. You have to go outside or your room. Voiced to other clerks it's excessive . If you have any sinus problem stay out the main lobby. Eyes will water and sinuses will be affected for sure! Rest of the staff were very friendly except the cleaning ladies. No smiles, no hello's.. Clubs very close by so Thurs - Sunday evenings is LOUD! 😱

Gardner Hotel is well located down town in El Paso but it’s more a youth hostel than an hotel. Common bathroom, no air conditioning, light on all night in the corridor with a window direct on the room so impossible to have full dark during the night. Bar or club on thé the ground floor this hotel is not isolated to avoid noise until late in nights. It’s clean and the staff awarn you about all the « problem » but it’s not clearly explained when you book on Expedias site. Parking free, true..in the street…

Thank you for your review. We are in the middle of upgrading our window and our heating and cooling system. The windows will help with the noise and each room will have its individual heating and cooling system. We try to be as tranparent as possible in all of our booking platforms about the heating and cooling system and also about our parking, we do have 2 free spots up front, they are first come first serve, it is very limited since we are downtown. We also have private rooms with private bathrooms to accommodate everyone of our guests. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels in El Paso.

The Gardner Hotel is a gem in downtown El Paso. We like it for the convenience and the price. We travel to the city by train. Union Station is less than a mile from the hotel. [Hint: Ignore Google maps. Best walk path from the station to hotel is to cut thru to the right of the baseball stadium and take Franklin Ave all the way to the Gardner.] They have put in new windows which helps cut down the noise from nearby night clubs and are working to upgrade the HVAC.

Great, inexpensive place if you're planning to go out until at least 2 am. There is a very nearby nightclub that plays a reverberating bass music until 2 am (I was there on a Saturday night). I was unable to block it out with the hotel-provided ear plugs and a white noise machine I brought with me. The other main issue for me was the condition of the bed and pillows. The bed is sunken down in the middle and has palpable metal springs throughout. The pillows are completely flat. Overall, I would only recommend this place if you're on a budget, plan to stay out late, and can sleep on anything. Bringing your own pillows would be a great idea!

If you like retro that's what you get their elevator doesn't work you have to climb stairs they have no televisions in the rooms no refrigerator microwave coffee pot the rooms are small they have bars downstairs very noisy until 2:00 a.m. Street traffic also till 3:00 a.m. for the money you pay it is not worth it I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy

John, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, unfortunately our elevator does not work but we do have a friendly staff that is more than happy to help you with your luggage up and down the stairs. We also offer rooms with a private bathroom and television included, which you can also find as one of our options in the Expedia website. We also have a self serve kitchen in the basement that offers all amenities needed for your cooking convenience. As far as the noise from the bars go, we are very transparent about this situation on all our booking platforms and we also inform all of our guests about this during check in time, I am sorry that we were not informed about this during your stay so that we could have accommodated you to a quieter area of the hotel and assisted with anything else you needed. Quando ho prenotato c’era scritto che la mia camera aveva il bagno privato. Quando sono arrivata ho scoperto che non era così. Nonostante gli avessi fatto vedere la prenotazione si sono rifiutati di assegnarmi la camera per cui avevo prenotato e piuttosto hanno preteso che pagassi 60$ in più per avere anche il bagno privato. Dopo 25 ore di viaggio mi sono arresa con riluttanza. La camera era discreta. Altro problema: non c’era il Wi-Fi. Sono stata per tutto il soggiorno senza connessione, nonostante gli dicessi che fosse un problema di distanza dal segnale loro dicevano che stavano cercando di risolvere il problema. Fatto sta che per avere una connessione dovevo spostarmi nel corridoio o nella hall. Assolutamente ridicolo. Per finire, dicevano che nel bagno c’era un set di cortesia, eppure nemmeno un asciugacapelli in tutto l’hotel. Uno che viene dall’altra parte del mondo dovrebbe portarsi l’asciugacapelli secondo loro? Assolutamente assurdo. 100$ al giorno per una stanza senza alcun confort, nè servizio di base. Peccato, la struttura è d’epoca e di per se ha il suo fascino. Tuttavia, il peggior soggiorno che abbia mai avuto a El Paso. Mai più.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. We have very different types of rooms and prices to best accommodate our guest, in this particular reservation the room that came in to our system through Expedia was a room with a Full Bed with a Hallway bathroom. The prices for a room with a hallway bathroom and one with a private bathroom are different; this would explain the up charge. We apologize for the Wi-Fi connectivity; I can assure you we were working to fix the issue and thank you for bringing it to our attention. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels.

Poor customer service and no cold/hot air available in the room was very inconvenient during our stay. It took them 3 separate complaints before being offered to move to the different room. We decided to clock out a day early to avoid further inconvenience.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you were not happy with your stay. During check in you mentioned that you may be leaving a day earlier than you booked and we informed you that you had booked a non refundable rate through a third party source, so if you did leave earlier you would not be refunded for that day. As for the heating/cooling systems we explain that due to El Paso's dry temperatures, we use centralized evaporative cooling and each room has a transom above the door to allow air to the room. We suggest you crack your windows and turn on your ceiling fans to allow the most optimal cooling of your room. In the winter, radiators in each room provide centralized stream heating. There is no individualized heating and cooling, however, there are ceiling fans in the rooms and extra blankets/fans available upon request. All our website platforms explain this, and this is also explained to every guest at check in time so that our guests have all the information on how the cooling/heating system works. During check in time our staff again explains this to all of our guests. When you notified us the first time about it being hot, we asked if you had the transom above the door open and you said no and refused to open it. Again, we informed you that you needed to open it for the cooling system to work. The next day, you were still not satisfied so we offered to upgrade rooms to one that gets better air flow and/or stay in the same room you were in and we would provide an extra fan, which you denied. We hope that you enjoyed your time in El Paso.
