Staff was very attentive to every need. Reception welcomed us with a nice drink and walked us to our room. We had a room that had a turret that you could get in and look out at the beautiful landscape. Max, the bartender, was great to talk with. He looked up information and printed it for us before we asked. Breakfast was wonderful.

The staff immediately welcomed us with a complementary drink, and helped take luggage up stairs (no elevator, but plenty of rooms ground floor if stairs are an issue). They have a high quality coffee maker available all day, and drinks bar for evening to relax in. I opted for breakfast. In addition to a buffet with meats, bread, cereal, fruit, pastries, they had a number of cooked breakfast options. I recommend the "Scottish". Overall, more than enough to eat and start the day. Staff were very accomodating to requests and extemely friendly. I will stay here again next trip to Edinburgh.

This hotel is located on the university campus which is unique. It’s about 30 minutes to walk to some of the things to see. Staff were excellent and the property is very nice.

It is luxurious hotel, small and boutique style. Breakfast was included in the stay and food was great. Not having an elevator made it difficult to move luggage and the room size doesn't allow for suitcases. The room could also use drawer space to put things away in. The bathroom was beautiful and floor was heated. Staff was incredibly nice and friendly. We thoroughly enhjoyed our stay

Property is a heritage one with a unique look and feel. Situated inside the university campus it has an invigorating atmosphere. It is conveniently located. Service is great and with a smile. The dining options could be a little better but that’s a minor squabble.

EV charging - we chose the hotel for this reason but on arrival there were non-ev’s parked in the ev charging bays and stayed there. We had to submit our registration at reception so I’m unsure as to why it was still there the next morning when they could quickly identify who the vehicle belonged to. The other ev chargers available were very slow and as we had driven there from Skye we would need a full charge to get us on our way the next day. However, you could only use them for a max of 4 hours which would only give us about 50-60 miles worth of power. If you stayed over 4 hours there was a £30 penalty. Who on earth puts there car on charge and has to return to the hotel midway through a day/night out just to move the car when it has barely charged. When we spoke to the hotel about it, the staff said they couldn’t do anything about it and were less than helpful. We would not have chosen this hotel if we knew this in advance. Poor showing for an otherwise ok hotel. Room and bed comfy Shower great Breakfast good Staff polite but ineffective regarding charging

The Scott Hotel team went out of their way to help us check in early after our sleepless night on the Caledonian Sleeper. This is a lovely hotel and we will be back to stay at it again. We gave 3/5 stars for the areas surrounding The Scott Hotel as we think more can be done with The Scholar’s bar next door, which is the option as a hotel bar for The Scott Hotel. Perhaps install more welcoming lighting as it was very brightly lit. But that’s a minor quibble about our fantastic stay.

University hotels and Bistro next door. Taxi ride from the City Centre but walkable if fit - 30 mins. Charming 17th C decor in breakfast room and lounges. Arthur’sSeat is nearby in Holyrood Park and a great area for walking.

Lovely
Situated within the University of Edinburgh near Holyrood. Free parking. Lovely setting and hotel. We were in Room 25 and it was very comfortable and spacious. You can dine in the adjacent Scholars Hotel but we did not try it. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel is close to the Commonwealth Pool. It’s an easy 25 mins walk to Princes Street with lots to see along the way. Buses 2,4,14,30 and 33 will take you into town for £2. We will book here again as it’s such a lovely relaxed place.

Warm and welcoming stay in atmospheric hotel
The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and foreseeing of all of our needs. We were travelling with our (small) dog and the whole staff was genuinely welcoming to all three of us, and made our stay as easy and comfortable as possible: giving dog-friendly recommendations, keeping our luggage on the last day etc. For people travelling with dogs: the hotel accomodates your stay with a bed, towel, and little treats, which made for a very nice thoughtful touch. The room was very cosy, nicely decorated, with enough storage (weekend bags and small luggage), and the basic refreshments were on-point and in sufficient quantities. Bed comfy, bathroom very clean, good shower, nice products. Noise level okay as we were a bit remote in a corner of the property. Overall, hotel is warm and welcoming, decor is pleasant, from the lobby to the coffee lounge. The location was good, within walking distance of a couple of main streets and a few coffee places, whisky bars, and 5' away from a path up to Arthur's seat, plus lots of buses to get into the city center.

A fab weekend 😀
The hotel is beautifully appointed. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very clean and fitted in a contemporary style. The main areas of the hotel were beautiful and traditional to the building. The bathroom were clean, and large with fab soft towels if a little utilitarian in design compared to everything else. A great shower with lovely products to use. I'd definitely use this hotel again. Staff were very polite and helpful.

Beautiful hotel and location, it felt like calm surroundings in the university area. We explored Arthur's Seat nearby, with wonderful views on the way up. We felt a heartwarming welcome in all the interactions with the friendly staff. Great bed and breakfast!
