East Lothian : Chalets

« The location could not be better. Less than a 2 minute walk to the Swilcan Bridge, a 5 minute stroll to the beach or the 18th green of the Old Course, 5 minutes to the aquarium and about 10 minutes into the heart of town. 15 minute drive to the Castle Course, which was my absolute favorite round of golf in my entire life. Words can't describe it. Well appointed unit, the soaps, shampoo and conditioner smell heavenly and are local products. Lovely living room, gorgeous bathrooms, roomy kitchen....

« We were very disappointed on entering the holiday cottage to find that cleaning had not been carried out to the standard we would have expected of a holiday let. There were breadcrumbs in the cutlery drawer, mouse droppings on top of the dishwasher which was also partly full of dirty water, a breadboard were covered in dust fluff. There was, what we believe to be, pizza stuck on the walls of the bathroom and bed sheets had hair on them, the blind in one of the bedrooms would not pull more than...

« This was a very comfortable stay, with all the amenities of home. Perhaps the hot water management would be easy for Scottish folks, but it took the entire stay to figure out how to turn on the hot water in the primary bathroom. Property management was very responsive. It would be lovely to have olive oil in the pantry. The drying rack is broken. There were pubs close by, and you need reservations to eat there. It was quiet, darling, and a very short walk from the gorgeous beach and a small park...

« As a larger group going away for a weekend, we needed the right place to keep everyone happy, and we could not have been happier with our selection of Dempster Lodge. It has been an amazing place to stay, the house is terrific, the close location to town is perfect, and the service from the ShortStay team has been second to none.
